Hi all first post... probibly been asked 1,000 times before but..... I have Arma II already (and I think) all pached up, is it as simple as dowloading DAYZ and I can play? thanks guys

You need operation arrowhead expansion too; which is not free.

The mod is free.

Hi mate, to play DayZ you need Combined Operations which is basically Arma 2 and Arma Operation Arrowhead joined together. You can buy it individually as Arma CO but as you already have Arma 2 you'll just need to get Operation Arrowhead.

Just to clarify, Operation Arrowhead is a game in it's own right, not an expansion pack.

Once installing the appropriate backbone - Arma2 and Arma OA - Id recommend using DayZCommander to install the mod and maps. It basically does all the work for you. If you are computer savy enough to do it yourself you can find plenty of write ups here or on youtube on installing the mod manually.

Yea top job got them both alrady loaded and played.... so I just load dayz then now?

I dont know what you mean by that never played dayz so Im not in one, havent played ArmAII for over a year so not in one anymore

Basically, many people use private hives/servers now day's. They're separate from the public ones and if you find a good one that's run well you won't have any issues with hackers or idiots in general. If you tell me what country you're in I'll recommend you a good one to get you started.

Yup, Commander will pretty much keep you up to date with whatever you need.

I know the guy's well over there and they're good admins. I haven't played there in a couple of weeks but last time I was there they were running nice full servers. Server no.2 is best if you're just starting out and is the most popular. You'll need to join the forums to get the server password (keeps the hackers out) and then you're good to go. They're a nice bunch and noobs are welcome. They'll always help you out if they can.
