FUNKBOT2000 0 Posted November 15, 2012 While playing I suddenly was teleported to the middle of an endless ocean. I looked online and saw this isn't an uncommon problem but it doesn't appear to have a solution since some genius decided to remove the option to respawn. I'm pretty sure my guy isn't going to die on his own and there is no way to manually delete my character from my desktop.I don't care about any of my gear since I just started playing yesterday, but I'd really like to be able to play ever again. So, if you can just kill my dude or give me some help on how I can do it myself, I would appreciate it. I'm FUNKBOT 2000 on Steam; message me there with whatever you got.If there is a specific forum to request this that would be better I apologize for missing it; I did a perusal of the FAQ and READ THIS thread and didn't see anything relevant. Leadon77 94 Posted November 15, 2012 The admins gonna need the server/hive you were playing on mate... otherwise they don't know which server you were on, as there's about 4000 of them
Derpy_Hooves (DayZ) 4521 Posted November 15, 2012 if no one can help you then just stay logged in and go do something for an hour your character will have dehydrated to death by then.

FUNKBOT2000 0 Posted November 15, 2012 The admins gonna need the server/hive you were playing on mate... otherwise they don't know which server you were on, as there's about 4000 of themLogging onto a different server produced the same results, and from what I read my character is locked to my CD key. But if somehow the original server would need to be identified to solve the problem, how would I go about tracking that information down?if no one can help you then just stay logged in and go do something for an hour your character will have dehydrated to death by then.I don't think my health stats are affected when I'm in this zone. At the very least for the half hour or so that I was treading water, my temperature didn't change at all and nothing else appeared to change, either. I can give this another try but from what I've read other people have been stuck indefinitely in the water with no way to just play out the clock.
Derpy_Hooves (DayZ) 4521 Posted November 15, 2012 Sounds weird i have to admit, happened once to me and i sat it out till i died... if that doesn't work then you have a lovely long swim back to shore....
Dr.Duff 211 Posted November 15, 2012 The admin on the server should be able to go into sql and simply change your state from alive to dead, causing a respawn when you relog.
FUNKBOT2000 0 Posted November 15, 2012 Sounds weird i have to admit, happened once to me and i sat it out till i died... if that doesn't work then you have a lovely long swim back to shore....I'll give it a try while I'm at work today. Also there is no shore. Again, I wouldn't mind if there was any conceivable solution to this, whether waiting til I died or just spending a ton of time getting back. As far as I can tell I'm essentially locked out of ever playing the game again. The admin on the server should be able to go into sql and simply change your state from alive to dead, causing a respawn when you relog. The admin for any server I join in the future? TheMedic 58 Posted November 15, 2012 ARGH!! Once again I'll explain for all you CLUESS n0bz how to commit suicide in game so sit down, shut up, and PAY ATTENTION!!1. Load into game and wait for "Setup complete blah blah blah"2. The millisecond you see "Setup complete blah blah blah" hit ESC as this will bypass the anti-respawn ... thingy Rocket programmed in.3. When fully loaded in to the game (your character is playable) hit "Respawn" and there you go!This can be used for non-emergency situations (respawning until you get a better respawn spot) as well.
FUNKBOT2000 0 Posted November 15, 2012 Don't really know what you mean by "Setup complete blah blah blah?" When I load a game, it shows the DAYZ logo and a loading bar underneath. When that is complete, it flashes (for a millisecond, maybe this is what you are referring to) to what looks like a shot of the game, but it's too fast to really make anything of it so if it says anything about setup, I can't tell. Then it goes to a plain black loading screen with the word "loading" below. Then I pop in as playable.I've tried maybe half a dozen times to hit escape during that middle screen, but if I'm even getting it right, it doesn't seem to help. One time I was able to select "respawn" but nothing looked right, and when it showed my character die it looked like the surface of the moon. When I loaded up again, I was back in the ocean again.
