I bought a new router so I have a new IP and I can't play?

Recommended Posts

I bought a new router and I got a new IP (due to some issues with neighbors and other troublesome ordeals) and I can't play dayz/arma. When I try it says "Cd key is already in use" due to my arma being registered to a different IP.. I found this strange since I am running it on steam. I noticed when I right click on any arma 2 game it says "Register your game" I clicked on it and it just takes me to the arma website. I am not a computer guy and I would love some help.

Your CD key is in no way related to your IP address, either do what asshat said or try running as admin potentially your CD key has been stolen through something you've downloaded.

'plus' A router wouldd never give a "new IP" in the fashion, I believe you think it does. You may set a router have all sorts of different IP-ranges but its just for the computers hooked upto it. You'll still have the same static-IP (most cable) or a dynamic-IP (phone) that changes every few hours to every few days.

Only reason I could see issues with neigbours is either they're thieve'n your IP or you're thieve'n theirs. (sure you have not been IP-banned from a server? or trying to nab your neighbours copy of Arma 2? No offence is meant.)

Perhap checking out a proxy site if a different IP is 'truly needed' but the added-ping/lag would be suicidal, ingame.
