Did i just get lucky ?

So i was playing on a server, and i accidently went to the server controls or something flippin through the M options, and got banned, well , iwent and i joined US 47, and started on the Left Outskirts of Elektro, well, i was just thinkin "Shit, gotta do this all over again" So i go runnin into Elektro, of course beelining my way to my usual route, and i decided to stop by the fire station this time, just for a quick peak, and when i open the 1st big door, the first thing i see, right in front of me, is a sniper. It turns out its the M107, and it came with 2 mags. Now, the reason i asked this as a question if i got lucky, is because ive never used snipers in DayZ, or Arma 2 for that matter, so i dont know how loud this joker is gonna be when firing, and is it even worth having ? I took it and ran towards prigidorky, im in the woods between, i dont know if i should kind of test fire it at zombies or what ? Opinions guys ?

it's a survival game of course you should take the sniper take what ever you need and test it out, what happens when you only have a sniper and a bandit or something that comes along and you don't test it you will probably die or not. so test it out on a zombie then if you are good enough then test it out on a player see if you hit him while his moving and always go to the woods to test it and look down on a city and no zombies can hear and only other players will come up to see what's happening

the gun is only loud if a player/zombie is close enough to hear it and the range of the sniper rifles is insane.you have to test it to range it.maybe watch some arma 2 sniper vids to get some idea but you will be without a rangefinder so determining distance is challenging.just don't stress so much over using it that you get killed before you even equip it.empty it and throw it away.good hunting.

It's best against other players. Zombies can hear it at 400-500 meters, so if you shoot it too close to a city all the zombies will come running. On the other hand if you set up a position beyond 400 meters, zombies might not spawn in the area, because you're too far away.

If you're a bit of a bandit try to set up a sniping position near a populated area, if you see any zombies appearing in the distance, there's a player in the area too. Just remember the 107 is loud as a jackhammer, so you might need to change location after your releaved your position.

If you're more of a friendly player, go snipe some zombies in smaller villages or barns, where you only alarm 3-5 zombies at the time and just waste the ammo while having fun.

It's not the best weapon for lone survivors, but it's a one shot, one kill weapon.

Its the loudest gun on the game. Period :D And even if your not one of those bandit snipers (that people HATE in this game :D ) that camps on sniper hill and kills anyone and everyone, you can still use it to provide over watch for some friends/other survivors. You sit on a high ground looking into city/town while a friend goes in a loots the place, if any bandits try to kill him/her you take them out with your one shot kill beast. Definitely keep it IMO

Good sniper but a Zombie/bandit magnet if you fire that thing you will be heard for miles...
