joikd 25 Posted November 12, 2012 Per Ander's thread regarding mandatory hive updating for public servers to 0.8.0.0, my server is now unplayable with the "server is running an incorrect version" message. The only thing I changed were the hive files.I had this issue when 1.7.3 first came out, but read that using hive .0.7.x.x worked (and it did), so I downgraded from .0.8.0.0. So, it is directly related to .0.8.0.0.Any help would be appreciated.

joikd 25 Posted November 12, 2012 (edited) A week ago?!?! Is this a widespread, known issue? If so, I don't understand why hive 0.8.0.0 is being forced on us. At least 0.7.x.x was working. Edited November 12, 2012 by joikd
DarkRaven (DayZ) 9 Posted November 12, 2012 I was playing this afternoon, logged out of my homeserver and when I tried to log back in an hour later. No servers worked for me. "Invalid server version"-thingy text.So I join the SAVE US cry here.
AmberHelios 2071 Posted November 12, 2012 have you tried using the 0.9.6.6 hive files ftp://dayzcommander:dayzcommander@94.242.227.3/or you could reinstall http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8328 and try again
joikd 25 Posted November 12, 2012 I did the first suggestion a while ago already, but it was a no-go.I tried the second a little while ago. It got the server to "briefing", then hung, so I left it. It now works!!!!!Thanks everybody. We are back in business!!!

joikd 25 Posted November 13, 2012 Google "dayz support". Log in. Go to "client area", "my services", "view details", then "download: server files". Follow the instructions on the text file to get to the files.
MissBehave 37 Posted November 13, 2012 I finally managed to finagle Defcon servers staff to help get this file so it could be downloaded. The login for support just wouldn't work. :( Server working finally though so yay! Thank you for help.
