Went for a quick look on DayZ updates and saw this:

1,3 Million Players!

Just another milestone showing this mod's epic success.

It's actually higher then that, but there is an error with the stat (increased to 2.4million in a few days) so it's been locked at 1.3million for now.

Don't tell them about the SA, they might go mental when they realise they will have to pay for it.

On another note they got a real bargain with ARMA 2 OA, that in itself is hours of fun for a small investment, I would be interested on how many purchased it before the explosion.

Around the beginning of November it was at 1,341,396. It was increasing at about 2-2.5k players a day in the weeks before that, then it jumped 30k players within a few hours, 1.5 a day or so after that and within a week was at 2.4million.

Rocket said they were aware of under reporting for some time, so who knows the actual value.
