Keenhail 2 Posted November 10, 2012 So after months of not being on the game I decided that I wanted to come back tonight and play the game, I go about updating and getting everything set up as I'm really looking forward to starting over again.. Playing on the public hive and maybe being a bandit instead of a survivor for onceI fire up a server and instantly get "You were kicked off the game (Battleye: Global ban #9422fd)" Figuring maybe its just some mistake I try another server and I get the same thing.... I even tried the private server that I have spent almost 90% of my DayZ time on and I get the same thingThis is really upsetting for me because I am the last person that would ever hack or script, I actually loathe players who have to resort to those means in order to play a game or just to grief players. I have never ever used any scripts or form of hacks and I'd like to know why I was bannedAttached a pic I took with my phone, hopefully I will get an answer and I pray that this is just some mistake because its not like I'd ever do something like this :(
Legacy (DayZ) 1091 Posted November 10, 2012 You actually put effort into this topic...Thread MovedNot a Ban Appeal.
Keenhail 2 Posted November 10, 2012 Err thank's I guess, Not sure if that was sarcasm or a genuine kudos lol. (could you elaborate Legacy?)I do have an update though and its kinda a strange incident even on my level and all I can do is best describe it and see what happens. Couple months back I was playing on this public server and lo and behold a hacker gets on, throws us all up in the air which killed us and then disconnected us. Upon attempting to get back on DayZ I couldn't and I kept getting an error saying "Bad Serial Key" this immediately told me that my CD key had been hijacked which I found strange considering that I have never downloaded or attempted to use any software to use scripts (yes I did my research on hackers in DayZ after running into the constantly)Could this have any effect on this matter? rekrul 91 Posted November 10, 2012 Seems to me that you know you had your key stolen and then someone got it banned. You need to buy a new one or just wait for the standalone.
Keenhail 2 Posted November 10, 2012 Seems to me that you know you had your key stolen and then someone got it banned. You need to buy a new one or just wait for the standalone.Thing is I took the appropriate measures that BE suggested to get my CD key back, which was uninstalling the game and wiping my registry and then reinstalling the game, this was suppose to have made it impossible for the hijacker to steal my key as the key would have been in use by meThis happened at least a month and a half maybe 2 before I took a break from the game, so why would it happen now? Also, I'm trying to update BE through steam via right clicking on ARMA: AO and choosing re-install BE client but Im getting an error called "MISSING STRING!" Psyl3nt 125 Posted November 10, 2012 Haven't played for a fair while ?Last time you played around the time when the mass bans happened ?Could be because you were not playing you didn't know your key was banned then and didn't appeal so they think the ban was legit.other than that, no idea. If it is how does one go about fixing it?
Psyl3nt 125 Posted November 11, 2012 It's going to be hard if that's the case, but contacting BattleEye would be the next move.
Keenhail 2 Posted November 11, 2012 Well I'm trying to email battleye support but I keep getting an email saying mail returned, apparently because their quota has exceeded and their mailbox is full so I'm gonna have to wait till monday
Audio Rejectz 144 Posted November 11, 2012 Thats probably because they get spammed with hacking idiots claiming they have not cheated constantly. You obviously either cheated, or intended to cheat and had your key stolen. Either way the game is better off without you.
Keenhail 2 Posted November 11, 2012 Thats probably because they get spammed with hacking idiots claiming they have not cheated constantly. You obviously either cheated, or intended to cheat and had your key stolen. Either way the game is better off without you. That's the furthest thing from the truth and you clearly dont know me both as a person in real life and a player in DayZ. I loathe hackers and cheaters and I have never done that kind of thing ever.. There are thousands of people out there who mistakenly get banned because some idiot who feels he's been unfairly killed reports a player who is innocent. I've seen it dozen's of time... Even BE have said they have accidently banned peopleI have never ever attempted to or even remotely thought about using some form of hacks in any game I play. So please dont judge someone before you actually know the full story. As the mod who was the first to reply to this post said.. this isn't a ban appeal
OrLoK 16182 Posted November 11, 2012 (edited) Hello thereBefore someone else says it, only BE can assist you in overturning a ban.IF your key has been stolen, then cleaning the reg etc will have no effect if you then reinstall the same stolen/banned key. Now, taking your story as legit, it's still *your* responsibility to safeguard your key, so if you downloaded a gfx optimiser or any other exe/rar/zip etc which allowed you key to get snaffled by nasty folk, then it's *your* fault I'm afraid. Harsh I know. The same goes if your aunt/brother/cat used your PC and accidentally installed the same. (AFAIK)Your only recourse is to submit the ban details to BE and if they think it's appropriate (see their FAQ) they can and do reverse bans that are false positives.Other than that you'll have to buy a new version of the game. (google in-depth before you do or you may loose your key again)Lastly, I was looking for some mods for popular game online and found some which suited my needs, but on closer inspection the said mod used parts of a "legit" cheat program that I believe BE scans for, so even though I was after a mod to ramp up SP difficulty in a separate game I *may* have almost installed nasty software that BE doesn't like. Now, BE may not pick it up but I wasn't going to test it and risk my Arma Key. (this is MY opinion not a guarantee on how BE works btw).rgdsLoK Edited November 11, 2012 by orlok

I've never let anyone use my copy so that's at least one thing I'm certain of as for the other ways in which my key coulda got stolen I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.. I'm a notorious downloader and although I only download from trusted sites and scan every download to make sure its clean there is always the chance that something slipped under the radarI'm working on contacting BE to get the ban overturned, I appreciate all the advice and if they wont overturn it then I'll just wait for the standalone
