I'm having the same problem.

Ever since I upgraded to the new Hive version 0.8.0.0 I'm getting the same error:

[Warning] Error getting config: 'Connection refused', retrying in 1 seconds (try 2)

...etc...

I noticed that sometimes after a couple of restarts it manages to connect.

But right not for example I`ve restarted it for like 20 times and it's not working.

Any ideea on why this is happening and how to fix it?

A. Thanks for linking me here Omaran B. it is an easy fix on the side of the Hive admins. It is corrupted vehicle/spawn data, just deleting the entry for my hatchback and your ATV and Tent should take care of it. I ran into this issue with a private hive server I hosted and that did the trick. However, since we don't have any hive access what-so-ever, TROUBLE TICKET AWAY!!!

Yea, I am pretty much screwed. You may have a chance. Try upgrading to hive 0.9.6.6 I tried a downgrade to 8 because I figured it may give me a new db but I got your error. You can get the new version here:

Just extract to the root directory and replace the @hive folder and the two dll's. Good luck.

I tried the 0.9.6.6 hive files but still getting the same error.

And also at the begining it says it's unable to load configuration file ...\cfgdayz\HiveExt.ini

Do I need that file? I don't recall ever seeing a file by that name anywhere, and the server worked before.

As a more or less temporary fix:

Restoring the old v0.7.4 hive files seems to get the server working but I'm not sure If there are any (bad) consequences to doing this.

But if possible I`d like to get it working with the latest files :(

Hi guys, make sure you allow port 80 to cdn.dayz.nu for hiveext to download the public hive config.

I am using Gameservers as a hosting company and I have had no problems with the DayZ server untill the restart. It has been able to update seemlesly. I just changed the IP of the server in hopes it might do something and still there is nothing. Nothing weird happened in HiveExt.log; however, still some funky stuff in arma2oaserver.RPT:

i have the same problem. i read the hiveext,log and some object have messed up the position and location with random warbage like string with random characters or broken arrays or simple no pos/dir.

after have no reply from my ticket i manage to fix the problem, based on the error log and the hive source on github, ignoring the broken object in the stream object.

I tried the 0.9.6.6 hive files but still getting the same error.

And also at the begining it says it's unable to load configuration file ...\cfgdayz\HiveExt.ini

Do I need that file? I don't recall ever seeing a file by that name anywhere, and the server worked before.

you dont need the ini. for official hive you need a blank hiveext.ini you can found here: https://github.com/rajkosto/hive/blob/master/Hive/Binaries/HiveExt.ini

but if you dont have one there ir no problem.

So, Sharkiller, I applied your hotfix in @Dayz/Addons and @Hive/Addons and I am now getting the timeout error where before I only got the infinate loading screen, ideas?

Hi guys, make sure you allow port 80 to cdn.dayz.nu for hiveext to download the public hive config.

My server is trying to download the HiveExt.ini (in order to get the info on connecting to the hive) file and it's getting a "connection refused" ?

I have all outgoing ports opened.

As far as I can tell it's trying to connect to 109.70.149.42 (server.gamingdeluxe.co.uk) on port 80...but it seems there isn't anything listening on :80 there.

Isn't there any other way I can get the hive config?

st3reo I restarted 5 times my server and one have connection refused. for me is overloaded db. try restarting the server. i have the ini file but is check for the ini file in X webpage every restart... looks like page is down.

the timeout is on mysql connection.
