What killed me?

Hi everyone I was just starting a lets play series and made a test video.

Now if you wouldn't mind could you go to the last 5 minutes of this video and maybe you could help me work out what killed me.

Also doesn't your blood change when you get shot, if you notice my blood level before and after dying remaind the same.

Well, if you hadn't have been sniped you probably would have crawled on top of those corpses ahead of you and been eaten by the terrain anyways ♥

There wasn't a snap at the end, so doesn't really seem like a bullet.

Go into the Armory and pick a rifle. Go into third person, alt your camera in front of the gun (pointing towards the front of your character / looking back over a shoulder) and fire. There's a certain crack most bullets make.

I don't know if there are silenced weapons in dayz. It just sounded like it to me.

The sound can be a little tricky in this game depending on where it comes from. It might have been a long distance shot.

If you receive an instant kill shot will it effect your blood level?

Otherwise I'd say it may be a hacker.

What is that map sorcery in the bottom corner? Is that in the new patch or whatever. (I've not played this in a few weeks, and I know how radical the changes are)

Yeah, there are Silenced Pistols, Silenced Rifles, but not Silenced Snipers Rifles, and this is weird because the blood as you said stays the same, so that isnt a shot.

It cant be a shoot because even when the bullet travel faster than the sound you can hear a sonic crack (If its a supersonic bullet) between the time of the dead and the "Youre dead" screen, and if the bullet is from a silenced and subsonic rifle it cant insta-kill you

It is possible that you were sniped. I know there are some silenced weapons, but I'm not sure about silenced sniper rifles. I have also seen that some people have had a [bug?] where when they got shot in the head, it didn't say that they had lost any blood, but they still died. I have also seen something about people dying from pretty much just bugs in the game, it's possible that you might have run into one. However, I have not seen anything about that. Mostly someone getting launched out of a building, or people being eaten by hungry doors. Lol

This is looking like a definitive bug of some sort. OR a hacker.

If this video was from today, I would say it is a bug. Global ban took good care of most hackers.

This could be one of those AI snipers that snipe you out without a trace. It happened to my friends and I a few weeks ago. We killed 3 AI soldiers in the woods and then 30 seconds later, we die one by one without hearing a single shot.

Broken bones and shock. That's definitely a silenced sniper bullet to the leg or something of the sort. Better luck in your next life. Avoid cities, that's where everyone with silenced weapons camp out.

Well, there seem to be some hackers around.

Just yesterday everyone on the server I was playing died instantly. It happened a few times and according to some people that entered the server after that, this instant death hack was happening on several servers.

Any bullet can insta-kill you if it's to the head
