Spawn as a Hunter get a rifle a knife. Spawn as a Mechanic have the ability to fix vehicles With just scrap metal.. This could help with a bit more co-operation in Dayz. Michaelvoodoo25 3120 Posted November 7, 2012 It's like skill trees again, I would only consider skills being introduced if players actually improved on things by repeatedly doing the things to be condidered good at them. Spawn as a Hunter get a rifle a knife.Those aren't abilities, they are items.I think everybody should have an empty inventory on spawn. and NO BACKPACK.If everyone is equal on spawn, people won't be trying to get a better "starter pack" through suicides.EDIT: I also think non-combat skills should be learnable through repetition, and should be lost on death. Gordon Axeman 191 Posted November 7, 2012 I think that the only skill system is getting better at something over time. I had suggested a LONG time ago, but was misunderstood and the thread fell. If you want to survive in the forests but get a medic this is just stupid situation. I can't say that people will be VERY frustrated, but it's just a useless feature, that's all. logan23 118 Posted November 7, 2012 I don't think players should spawn as a certain type of player who has skills toward an area of expertise or lean that way.I rather see skills learned by discovering, exploring the map and finding tips on how to make certain things or allow you to be able to split antibiotics into smaller dosages so its not a one time use.All of these could also be discovered by experimenting with items you find in the world but I rather see the game reward exploring and being creative with what scraps you find. At the moment unless your in a clan or found a few people to trust You will die. Most people now shoot first and ask questions later or the trolling sniper in Cherno just about to shoot another victim this might (very might) just make you think before you shoot and ask what's his or she advantage can they help me survive or what can I learn from them before I shoot them. And the suicide thing is a hard one but people are killing themselves just to get closer to a mate or clan member. I like the fact we have a strong community outside the the game but inside Dayz is mostly dead bodies. A bit more co-operation inside Dayz couldn't be a bad thing. I think I've played long enough to have earned SOMETHINg that I can keep. I know a number of people who used to be excited about the game who are becoming more disappointed over time at losing everythign every death, every hacker, every tent glitch/raid, etc. One server I got on last night started everyone with cross bows and 5 bolts.
