Can't change my field of view?

I do all the right things regarding the calculations for what FOV I want, but when i go into my (username).ArmAIIOA file and open in notepad, change it, and then save it.. I get back in game and nothing has changed. I even changed the regular AA2 arma profile ones as well. Although what I did notice is my ingame name is different than my file ARMA2OA name which is cosmin. In game I'm Pr0phe7. But I don't see why that should matter!

You can change your FOV in game, though.....

So why is this necessary?

Or do you want that unlimited FOV crap? There's a million guides. You must not be doing something correctly if it isn't working.

Oh like I want a certain amount of FOV. About 100 degrees since I have a 1920x1080 monitor. Very wide monitor so I can benefit for it.

YOURNAME.ArmA2OAProfile is the one u wanna change.

And my file matches the name that I use in game so it does matter.Maybe you changed your in name game somewhere along the line?

Yeah I would say that the file name would need to = your player name in which you are using. Just look up a guide and make sure you follow the steps correctly. Should work.
