Certification System

Recommended Posts

Do you think it would be possible to say unban everything. However in order to use say a Javalin or drive a tank or some other object that should require some sort of training... So we add a field/variable to say this person is certified to drive a tank or whatever. Now how does one get certified? Make some sort of item like an instruction manual a user can find at some type of loot spawn and they have to read it. IE make it take say 10 minutes you have to sit down and let the counter run. If you are interrupted during the counter you have to start over. These certifications will also be deleted if you die since your next life is supposed to be someone new. So here you are hunting people down with your AS50_TWS and some luckly survivor comes up behind you with an axe and kills you... well if you make it to your body you can't use that weapon cause your no longer trained. You have to find a new manual.

Just an idea....

You know you normally need months if not years of extensive training to handle complicated machines and not just by sticking a plug into the back of your neck and saying "I know Kung-Fu"???

Go play Wasteland...everything you want and more...

I understand completely it takes years to truely understand a system. However this is a game and a suggestion thread. The go play wasteland not needed...

I personally like the idea of adding a certification system to DayZ. I enjoy the DayZ system. I making suggestions. Something like this would make the game a little more realistic. Realism is what I understand people are wanting. So just saying Anyone can just go and fly a heli... I think is insane. So why are heli's in the game? Adding something like this would make it a bit more realistic.

So my suggestion for a certification system I think is still a valid suggestion.

I don't like the idea of certs that persist between lives, and I hate the idea of grinding up my helicoptering cert every time I respawn before I can go get my heli out of the bushes where I left it. So no, I don't like this idea.

Also, no to tanks or "whatever".

Why does almost every suggestion involve guns, tanks, more guns and more tanks?

I have never seen anyone suggest that you need training as a doctor ( surgeon ) to be able to cure players when they have broken bones or bullet wounds because barely anyone knows how to treat such wounds, making such a player valuable...no - everyone needs a tankers certificate or a jet pilots license first because it's part of the realistic experience that comes to mind when an apocalype happens to have a battle tank or attack helo in front of your house...

No class system please, It's bad enough every player in the DayZ world can fly choppers and skin animals. The more your players does something the better and faster he should be at it, no need for a certification system. They used books and such in Fallout 3, there is nothing like experience gained by using items.

Not all items should be unbanned / available in game and more items would make the playing field unbalanced, you have a bicycle and I have a tank, You wanna play chicken with me? By the time you have found the manual for a missile launcher i would have already have cordoned off the military base(where the missile launcher spawns)
