walrus2517 27 Posted November 6, 2012 ...clipped...Its a great map if you are looking for a change. Unlike all the rest of the maps survival on this one is much harder and makes it so you have to change up your style. ...clipped...I forgot to mention Namalsk is the first place I've starved to death. In Chernarus food and animals are plentiful so I was scarfing down beans as soon as my food meter turned pink. In Namalsk I wait until it starts flashing before wasting a can of food. Animals are very rare too and there is only one location with a hospital (I think) for blood bags so don't plan on shooting one of the cows that spawns every 100m on the other maps to replenish your blood.I think the easiest way to put it is Namalsk is the first map to add something to the mod. The others, much as I appreciate and enjoy them, were just maps people added loot to. Namalsk actually incorporates new features and its own changes to the way the mod works. It makes for a slightly different experience than the rest.
DemonGroover 8836 Posted November 6, 2012 The underground area is a nice change and makes for some intense PvP - especially with the high end loot to be found.Think of playing the map as a short holiday while we wait for standalone.

Hetstaine 10852 Posted November 6, 2012 I was actually running around on a snowy mountain for about an hour yesterday for the sake of it and didn't get any cold or anything. Either something is bugged, or people just want to make it sound really dangerous.Weird, i have been sick three times on this map in under 20 hours of play time. Chernarus once since June. The underground area is a nice change and makes for some intense PvP - especially with the high end loot to be found. Twice i have been down that ladder to the underground, both times i have been nailed before i got of the bottom rung..i would like to have a look around down there and see what all the fuss is about :)

kosh 5 Posted November 6, 2012 I put in several hours yesterday with a buddy, we hadn't played DayZ (Chenarus) since August-ish and this seemed like a different enough map/settings to give'r a go. We're glad we did, it was fun with the lack of food and med supplies, and I got the shivers for the first time ever in DayZ. I've read others saying players are more friendly on this map, but so far I've ran into 1 friendly and 3 people who KOS'd me.It's a great adjustment to the DayZ formula that I'm sure the dev team are paying close attention to for the standalone. It'll be fun for a few more lives and make us anticpate the SA release even more.

ManiacMike69 37 Posted November 6, 2012 (edited) It's a great map with great design. Luv the weather and warm clothing u need to find to access the snow areas. Like how food and drink is very hard to come by. Lots of interesting loot places and new buildings and the mountains are very cool looking.Plus lots more zombies spawn then normal which makes things difficult. Sound effects are great aswel but if ur a noob u won't realise any if that. I just wish it was a bigger map with more bush to hide tents and cars. Quaby 93 Posted November 7, 2012 I've been hopping between the non-Chernarus maps for awhile due to Chernarus's bland, uninteresting environments and non-enterable buildings. I like Namalsk because of the desperation factor of only one hospital, and temp can actually be a factor. I like panthera even more because its pretty and hilly, a cool environment. I just got bored of ole Cherna, and got me a fresh place to bring hate and discontent to...
xx_fr0st-w0lf_xx 53 Posted November 7, 2012 The diffrence is survival.Loot cherno come out with 5 cans of beans and 7 drinks. In Namaslk 2 cans of beans is amazing. You must keep warm, head up the mountain or play at night / rain and you will see temperature changes. Military loot is everywhere so epic fights are everywhere.Cheranus you get food and fight for weaponsNamalsk you get weapons and fight for foodThats the major difference
morgan32 403 Posted November 7, 2012 Did notice some differences after the .6 update. No problems with food / drinks, bu spawned in shaking (seems stupid?). First time I've ever been sick in this game, and to my surprise it really isn't as bad as I would imagine it being.
