Mini Maracas

Sticky notes, infected animals and more!

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have a few suggestions for DayZ, and would like some feedback on them :) I know I've made quite a few suggestions, but now I will just update this thread with more suggestions I think of.

-Sticky notes/Posters

I think there should be an option to write little notes, and stick them up somewhere. It'd be cool to write something, such as "Mini Maracas was here" on a dead body, "Watch your back" on a car (To scare thieves > :D), "Party at NW Airfield" or something, and more things like that.

-Infected animals

We have models for normal animals, why not have some infected? The main thing I'm thinking of is dogs. We're going to have dogs in the game soon, why not infected dogs? :D They're faster, can hear you at a longer distance than most zombies, and are harder to shoot at, but there are less of them, they don't have the best eye sight, and have less health than human zombies.

-Something that Zombies drop?

This would give players more of a reason to kill zombies? After all, it is a zombie survival. Maybe players could be rewarded for killing more zombies? I was thinking of zombies dropping some sort of currency, but WarZ has this I believe, and it could be seen as copying. This links to my next point.

-Currency (Hear me out on this one)

I wasn't sure of this idea when I 1st thought of it, either. I think there should be some kind of currency, but there shouldn't be a shop. Who runs a shop in a zombie apocalypse? The currency should only be used for trading with other players. This could make the game so far, here are some examples of how currency could be used by the community:

-Selling vehicles to players.

-Betting/Gambling with friends

-Selling weapons

-More trading

-Paying people to do jobs (Hitman, retrieve things, etc)

-Wallet

To hold the possible currency, and I've seen someone else mention an ID, which could be like dog tags, but more civilian-like.

-Spray can?

For drawing pictures/graffiti on some concrete walls. Could be used to kill someone, place their dead body next to a wall and make your mark on it. Make the people of Chernarus fear you! :D

-Tape.

Tape could have a lot of uses, but a main one I'm thinking of is that it could be used to tape up player's mouths, so they're unable to talk or type for a while, until they break free. This could be used to kidnap people, or if you knock someone unconscious, they won't be able to scream for help. You could tape people up before knocking them out, too, so if you find a player without his back being watched, tape up his mouth, then kill him. His friends could think he logged out, when he's in a bush, being looted :D

-More Teamwork aspects

Such as giving players a boost, so they can reach higher things. Could be used to vault friends over fences, allow them to climb through a window instead of using the front door, and more things.

I will add more suggestions too, and if you also have any suggestions for the Mod/Upcoming standalone, post them here and I could add them :D

Zombies "do drop things" when they die. Not all of them but a number of them have random items from tin cans to food. Currency? No. I cant form a coherent rebuttal, so i'll just say no. I like the idea of a journal or notes...to an extent. Lack of side chat = tape on da mouth. PS you can still make noise with tape on your mouth. Now tape to tie up players? Now were talking.

MOAR TEAMWORK YES!. Please. Don't de-incentivize PvP...I don't want to punish people like that. I do want to give more purpose to working together though.

Sticky notes/Posters. Yes, could leave a clue for something as being a hero or warn people being a bandit or being a neutral civilian.

Infected animals. If only dogs, that would be rather cool, but not too many as you said...

Something that zombies drop ?. No, they already drop food and drinks that is a reason to kill zombies, why ? Becuase if you are starving or dehydrated you'd kill zombies for food and/or drinks, even soldier zombies drop ammo sometimes.

Currency. No, would you keep money in a zombie apocalypse ?

Wallet. Maybe just an ID or something, although dunno about this one.

Spray can. Yes, you could leave your "symbol" behind every kill like a psyco, could find some funny stuff :D

Tape. No, it would get abused too much.

More teamwork aspects. Yes, would really love more teamwork into the game.

Thanks you two :) And yeah, I agree, currency is a bit odd, but I was thinking maybe I could add some trade aspects? Not just trading goods, but you could buy things with your money from other players, or pay people to do things for you.

If only there was a sensible currency-like thing that people would have in a zombie apocalypse. :)

I like all the ideas except currency. Trading is cool but I just can't see currency working out. Sorry mate.

Notes and posters are great. Warn players of "your territory" like *ZORC is watching you!* or just *Zombies ahead* to *Sniper watching Cherno!* or simply just gags like *Go to the Winchester and wait for all this to blow over*

Infected animals. I like the idea but it would have to be very well balanced.

I see what everyone is saying about zombies DO drop things. but the fact is not alot nor often. IMO they should drop same stuff but more often.

Wallet. I loved the wallet idea for id's and stuff. It's a more realistic way to identify people and would add a "trophy" system to it. Maybe even have zombies drop wallets with randomized ids in them?

Spray can. I like it, but almost the same as the notes idea. Still cool idea. I'd love to blind a zombie with some spray paint ^.^

Tape. Yes I like the idea but chat clients would ruin it. Also perhaps use tape as something to use with repairs and possibly needed for putting up the before mentioned notes/posters? Also I just love the idea of being able to be walking with my pals (one of which is very talkative) and just slapping some duct tape over their mouth to get them to shut the hell up! lol

More Teamwork. YES!

Also, Dick from Deadrising Case:Zero kept a shop open in a zombie apocalypse. Just saying.

There have been a heap of different trading posts set up since virtually the beginning of the mod, currency is what you have to trade. Its the apocalypse and i hope we never see a bank or money again :) Trading is where it is at.

-Sticky notes/Posters -

(good idea but i think a note pad would be better more personal and useful to a player not just messing around putting posters everywhere)

-Infected animals - (not too sure on this I like it how none are infected shows there maybe a cure and also like 28days maybe it dint cross species)

-Something that Zombies drop? - (they do drop stuff.....)

-Currency - (Infected everywhere who really gunna trade and the game is survival maby a trade option not money)

-Wallet - (Like this could be useful someone mentioned ID maybe you could collect them or if bandit take them as trophies)

-Tape. (100% want this can use to bandage, temp fix cars, tape stuff to bag? and much more)

-More Teamwork aspects - (I actually think there is loads of teamwork aspects people just choose to ignore it but agree there needs to be more benefits from it somehow)

Hi, I have a few suggestions for DayZ, and would like some feedback on them :) I know I've made quite a few suggestions, but now I will just update this thread with more suggestions I think of.

All of those I've seen before. Except maybe the currency thing and that's really not a good idea. Like Hetstaine said, there already is trading going on in the game and there is no need for any sort of 'currency' though I guess finding cash here and there like you do in Fallout might be nice but would be more like a trash-loot item. I hate the Idea of infected animals, I never liked it but that's just me.

As for teamwork, I've suggested the exact same thing in another thread. It's a good idea, relatively simple but would give more meaning to teamwork.

Currency, strike that.

Stickies / posters could be kind of interesting, but few people would notice those handing on walls and such. Would love to kill zombies with a note in their pocket, "Get the kid ready for school, make cereal, take a shower"

Infected animals would be great, infected pigs / cows, etc would give you bad meat that very possibly would make you really sick or even kill you, maybe possible to eat if you cook it enough? Should be possible to cure animals tho, so you can cure a pig for example, to make the meat possible to eat without risk. I´d also like to cure dogs so I can have one myself.

Zombies drop stuff already, and it makes sense that they drop tin cans. I mean, who would walk around with beans in a zombie apocalypse? Makes more sense that he would eat it before dying.

Wallet, don´t need.

Spray cans, YES, I want to be able to spray arrows so people would follow my directions, right into my clever traps.

Tape, maybe, I´d like rope too, so I could hang zombies / survivors up around to scare people, maybe spray some arrows towards the hung survivors to make it even more fun.

Teamwork, yes, we need more bonuses for having friends. As suggested by someone else, lift-ups and pull-ups from a buddy (over higher walls), back-to-back action, like in Army of Two, when you go back-to-back and everything goes slow-motion, you get really OP and stuff.

Notes and posters are great. Warn players of "your territory" like *ZORC is watching you!* or just *Zombies ahead* to *Sniper watching Cherno!* or simply just gags like *Go to the Winchester and wait for all this to blow over*

Beans for reference.

there are many possible teamwork aspects that we could rip off from other games, one vould be pushing, the more people the better, blocking the door, and the list goes on.

-Sticky notes/Posters

Planned for release already - Diary

-Infected animals

I'd love more wildlife, I believe its also planned for release or along lines

-Something that Zombies drop?

They already drop food, water, ammo, if loot drops became more scarce, that would encourage players to loot zombies instead.

-Currency (Hear me out on this one)

No. its the apocalypse, any 'trading' would be done in game by players and always carry the risk of double crossing or bandit raids, items for items not money.

-Wallet

perhaps simply as a form of ID when checking bodies, to know their name. Nothing more.

-Spray can?

It'd likely cause issues given the server would have to save the markings made, that and...penises n tits everywhere.

-Tape.

I'd imagine tape would be used plentifully in the crafting designs they want to implement. As for binding other players, only if they added non lethal weapons like tazers.

-More Teamwork aspects

I made a suggestion on another thread about a teamwork boosting idea. Limiting players utility slots so you have to pick n choose what support items you can carry, such as tool boxes, matches, and so on.
