Fixing what my boy has undone~

Recommended Posts

Hi guys/gals, New to this forum & other than reading never thought I'd actually need to post a thread.

I'm a Wounded Warrior & spent the last half a year in & out of the hospital only to find that my Son highjacked most of my games on my CPU. He didn't understand Karma, Humanity and/or how to play the game with some honor. I enjoy it for pure survival.

The boy has (my) his humanity at -40K, He felt bad & has spent days attempting to fix the issue first through playing then through reinstalling Arma2, DayZ ect.. Only to have no effect.

I'd like to have a seperate account from him & dont have much knowledge on what to do. I have serious memory issues & forget everything. He's grasped the concept of the game & now feels my pain when being stuck as a bandit. If this were stand alone i'd happily purchase both of us the game thus giving us a chance to play together & he could start fresh.

Any help would be greatly appriciated. If I need to wait (stand alone) just let me know. Thanks

You need to delete the files in your documents. 99% of games do not make the saves in your program files, instead a file is made for that in your documents. Delete that. Buy the game again. Done.

You could find someone to boost your humanity. It's an exploitation of the game, but it will get the job done.

You get someone to go to the hospital with you, shoot them in the foot and treat their wounds. Then repeat the process until you're back to 0. You could keep going until you're a hero, but that's going too far IMO.

If you can't find anyone to be the patient, PM me I might be able to help.

make a new account on the main menu, you will spawn fresh but with default (2500) humanity.

Really? I thought the humanity level was tied to your cdkey/guid and stored on the hive. Was I mistaken?

Edit: In fact I've formatted my PC recently and kept my hero skin, so......seems like I wasn't mistaken.

To play together you will both need your own copies of the game. Easy fix is to let him keep the bandit on his computer, and you buy another copy for your computer. If you are buying game thru steam you will have to start new acct because steam will only let you buy one copy. And you arent buying Dayz... you need Arma2: combined operations. dayz is a free add-on.

Edit: i believe all stats are tied to cd key and are saved server side. Deleting files on your computer will do nothing. Move your game to a new computer and you will still have same gear and humanity stats.

Thanks guys. I'm going to work on it this evening & see if its gtg. I'll try the documents & check for any hidden folders. If not (through steam) I have no issues making a second purpose. the Hospital idea is great. My Son no longer kills randomly...ever. He learned about Karma & has a new respec t for players.

Again thanks, Ill follow the thread incase other ideas pop up.

Your humanity increases on its own over time, quite rapidly in fact, up to a max of 2500. Stock up on food and water, and go for a long walk around the map. You'll be back to survivor skin in no time so long as your son stops murdering people.
