he mentions catching a plane to Namalsk. I think he's just saying that he going to jump on a Namalsk server and I realize that this is an incredibly stupid question, but they're aren't any actual planes that ferry people back and forth are there?

Yes, you can fly from Chernarus to Namalsk. At the grid co-ord of 145, 016 there is a hanger on a small airstrip with one harrier per server. As the airstrip is too small you must vertically take off in the harrier.

You then must fly all the way east. Past that little island. Past everything. Until you reach Namalsk.
