End of game Scenario

Recommended Posts

O.K this may seem a stupid idea but bear with me please.

Many people who play this game are frustrated with the fact after you get all the stuff there is very little else to do. I for one think your being a little short sighted if your excuse is "all i can do is kill players"

Let us look at the community we have in the forums alone, lots of players of all styles and trying to enjoy the mod / game as best we can. What I would like to see would be a community driven mission plan / procedure!

Players or groups who want to try something new could create a thread and then state a mission. Do you want to rescue a hostage from somewhere? perhaps a fellow player is trapped in a location and you have to extract them, meanwhile the hunter team is out to kill you all regardless?

Escape and Evasion, from hunters and Zeds!

Bandit tin hats. Capture a bandit hostage and tin him to death, empty tins now have a use.

Imprison the Noobs. Find and imprison the Noob running around Cherno, not as easy as believed.

Seek and Destroy! Admin have a chopper, mission is to find and destroy chopper (Then get kicked off server lol)

Cops and Robbers, Hunt down each others team, last man standing is team who wins.

Perhaps you could team up or play solo while trying to attain a certain item? say for eg a box of antibiotics, a Muffin, a Hetsteak and Potato pie in the NWAF air tower, try to keep hold of them as long as you can!!

All this would take would be a Thread, Stickied with place of challenge within a given time slot. all players welcome to a server with active admin. You could argue that Arma 2 has some of these as seperate mods and such, but I am Suggesting this inside DAYZ!

Run by the community, For the community. The possibilities are endless all is needed is player involvement to prolong the DayZ experience

This stuff already happens, minus the dayz forum post. The server I play on hold all sorts of events, they just aren't open or broadcast to the general public. Reasoning behind that should be obvious. I wouldn't object to a place here to maybe issue challenges and what not. Mods the ball is in your court.

I've been thinking of some sort of in game scenarios to play out similar to yours. Your head sounds like it is in the rite place. We should play together sometime, do you have a regular server you use?

people can always go and organize an even it they so desire.

it does not even need an official sticky to do that.

having your own server would help big time, but i am

sure you can make something out with the admin of your favorite

server, for example invite people to an event at a given date/time

via ingame announcements.

evidence that this works can be found via youtube.

look for "dayz event", lots of examples.

Run by the community, For the community

you even said it yourself.

the problem is, it needs someone to organize, and stand up for it.

and usually people don't want to organize,

they want stuff to be organized for them.

How about a game of Marco Polo in the Cherno store?

Instead call it "Marco Cherno"

1 person with an axe has to kneel down and look up at the ceiling swinging their axe calling out "Marco" while the other players reply back "Cherno"

The other players calling out Cherno have to lie down and only crawl or roll away.

Doors must be closed. No escaping the madness or guards at the door shoot you.

I've often wanted to propose a me vs. The forums (aimed at those who dislike me) challenge. Just never seem to get around to it! Laziness due to 3 tots and a night shift job. But someday I will host it, maybe put up a gift card or donation to a charity of choice as incentive.

I skimmed through the OP, didn't really think it was necessary for it to be implemented. You want things to be done in DayZ? Don't make challenges, it removes the roleplay aspect of it. How about you go on a low pop. server, grab a car after fixing it up (one of the MAIN challenges/goals in this game if you find one that needs to be repaired completely) and drive along the coast once you see a deathmessage, and pick the person up. Be nice to people for once. Show them compassion. Show them that banditry isn't necessary to survive in DayZ. Give them some supplies but no weapons until you trust them.

How about
that
.

I do that every other day! From MV's Taxi service to MV's medic supplies to MV's weapon dealer.

I got the idea from all the whiny muppets who have no imagination and moan about "theres nothing to do" I have seen in the past the event hosted by some, which I did enjoy, especially the church service that went tit's up!

I suppose if people spoke more about what they did or organsied there would be no need for a thread?! people would just immitate.

That is too complicated for me!

Are you Hitting on me? do you want my body?

Make the end game whatever the players want it to be. Give the players the tools and let them decide what they want to do with them. At the present time killing other players is not the only end game thing to do. Players see past the limitations of the mod and have created their own end game. People for example like the Reddit Rescue Force have created their own end game in which they help players in need whether it's medicine or transportation. Others act as mercenaries for people and hunt down designated targets.

My point is that you shouldn't look at the game with a narrow mind and only see what is on the paper. If players enjoy playing the game, they will find imaginative ways to keep their experience new and exciting.

I agree, next week I'm going into the Chernarus tin can recycling business!
