Character has been reset?

Recommended Posts

Hello, my apologies if this is a common error, I've not been on for a month or so. I've logged back in and I had to make a new character- fair enough, I might have died last time I played, but my humanity has been reset as well. Is this in the new update or is this a bug? Help appreciated thanks :)

Please check what server you've joined.

Chances are you joined a private hive.

Seperate from the main hive and thus a fresh character (it doesn't affect your 'main' character)

I know a private hive when I play one and this wasn't a private hive. Infact, my new character works fine on other servers, but still with the humanity reset. I'm not too fussed as I'll work my way back up I just wish to know if this is a known issue :)

Quite a few patches ago there was a bug where you would end up on the beach completely fresh (possibly following a new patch or having to force and exit when frozen on a load). I found that going and getting yourself killed on the fresh character tended to fix the issue, finding yourself back on the old character when you re-logged. I haven't experienced that joy in months, but if you haven't achieved too much on the new character it may be worth a try in order to recover your previous progress. Though since it doesn't really bother you, I guess it's no harm - no foul.
