Hello there!

Just had a little idea for those who are competent enough to make something like this happen (like the dev team mabye :) )

My idea is to basicly to merge Chernarus, lingor island and Namalsk to one map.

Some changes needs to be made for it to look pretty.

For instance if you travel north in Chernarus you will see a gradual change in the environment with cold thundra and a big mountain chain with huge mountains.

There will be no towns on the way to namalsk only small villages with bad loot.

Eventually you will find your way there by swimming for a long time or taking a boat or heli.

What do you think?

I think that idea is really good! a map that is huge I believe would be amazing and be good to run on high performance servers which can host loads of players. This would allow more room for potential clans or small - big military companies being created. One of my previous suggestions would be good for this (petrol tanker suggestion for convoys - http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/103142-petrol-tankertruck/)

Also if dean does add a mechanic for building your own base then a big map would be good because they wouldn't be all tightly compact together as if they would be on Chernarus.

Yea that seems cool :)

If the new engine build they announced yesterday will work as intended it should be no problem integrating those maps in a server capacity perspective.

Definitely sgree that a much larger map with more players and more variety would be awesome.

Merging the current maps would definitely be a good way to do that, but would like to see a new map with more realistic scale. Greater distances between the towns which should be considerably larger than they are on the current maps.

Other than the obvious obstacles, like the time it'd take to map an area 3-4 times the size of chernarus, especially as they are making most of the buildings enterable, would it be possible to run this on a public server for say up to 100 players or more? and would the average pc be able to run the game? a few struggle as it is.

edit - Eve online regularly has tens of thousands of players on a single server so obviously vast numbers are possible, but of course eve is a very different game.

Good luck finding any other survivors after that.

With the new engine they just announced it will be possible to have over a thousand player/server, so the population wont be a problem :)

I just wanted to say...I love the name you made up.

beanz for you :D

For a country in Russia, it needs more mountains. I agree.
