Kh4zy 1 Posted October 28, 2012 (edited) Hi all.I managed to get my fps up at 60 today, but its still unstable. Sometimes it goes down to 40 :SI tweaked theese settings, but is there more i can tweak? i have used ramdisk too, and i got a good laptop.terrainGrid=50;sceneComplexity=100000;mouseSmoothing=0;My ArmA2OA.cfgFSAA=0;postFX=0;GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1;GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=1;HDRPrecision=8;vsync=0;AToC=0;PPAA=0;PPAA_Level=0;I have updated my graphic driver and have set it up after the nvidia dayz tutorial here at the forums with the correct settings. Is there anything else i can tweak? Is it possible to get totally rid of grass and just get some clean ground?I hope someone can help me, because i really want a stable fps. Btw, i have to run the game in 1024x786, just to get the fps at 60Thanks in advance :) Edited October 28, 2012 by Kh4zy
hawkygaming 43 Posted October 28, 2012 You're complaning about 40 Frames a Second? You know.. Some people would kill just to have 30-35. Stable or not.
Kh4zy 1 Posted October 28, 2012 You're complaning about 40 Frames a Second? You know.. Some people would kill just to have 30-35. Stable or not.Its all depends on your system and how you tweaked it. It took me 2 days, to get to this. First i tried ramdisk, but didn't work. Then i worked a way around with imgdisk so it would save and launch the drive each time. Then i figuired out that i had to disable the GPU when i was on the desktop. But its not like a big complainment, but there must be something that can hit me with like 10-20 fps more, so it would be stable :)
4L4N 276 Posted October 28, 2012 (edited) The grass thing can be somewhat done, change Terrain detail to very low. Only renders it 50m or so infront of you then.Make sure to have video memory on default too in the advanced options menu ingame.Have also heard having shadows at high or above makes the engine render the shadows using your GPU instead of your CPU , i have shadows on highest to be sure, but I have got 2 x Ati 6870's pumping out the graphics so I suppose i've got the horsepower for that.Vsync shoud be disabled too ( Vsync enabled will limit your FPS to your monitors refresh rate, which is usually 60hz on bog standard LCD's )It could also be the server also limiting your fps. Crap hardware servers someitmes make everyone chug along on the server at less than 30fps regardless of the clients hardware specs.40-60fps is pretty good for DayZ anyway.I get 60-80 fps in forest areas and maybe 30-40 fps in towns/citys. Mind you thats at 1920x1080 too. Also check this topic - http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/103014-an-other-fps-post/#entry967838 Edited October 28, 2012 by 4L4N link
andrewmont 91 Posted October 28, 2012 40 is the best ill ever get and that's only when out in the open. Cities and trees drop it greatly getting around 20 and quite often as low as 14. I'd love to be in your position :L
