I heard the temperature is actually important, also that there is some scifi gun and that there "broken equpment" that you have to repair with scrap metal...is there anything else that is special about the map.?

Pretty boring. Also has an annoying child shouting help drifting in the wind.

I'm. 50 50 on the map. As people said, military gear is pretty easy to find (at least in my experience). Food is only common in bigger cities I've noticed, even supermarkets don't carry it as much, basic survivor tools are extrmely rare, played for hours on end, never even found a map or matches. More so clothing such as warm clothes. On the flip side, players I've found are extremely hostile, basically, they'll shoot you just because, threat or not. The sound effects are pretty intensive I think, constantly hearing children and the cries for help, the sound of footsteps surrounding you and no one is there....not to mention the blood suckers. They'll give you a start

Its not so difficult to survive once you know the area, the main problem is the blowouts as there's lots of open spaces to traverse with no cover. I also have found a white ghillie suit before, which I've heard protects you from the cold... never used it to go to the mountains though.

Namalsk flips the Chernarus loot ratio upside down. You'll find tons of military equipment, but food and water will become as valuable as any gun. Temperature becomes a problem weather or not its raining. It's wide open and a car becomes almost required. It really is a bit of a "hard mode".

Namalsk is nothing but a deathmatch. You don't even have to try and survive with most of the servers out there. You spawn with food, drink, and a gun. Just find a primary, and go kill people. Thats all you do. Chernarus requires you to actually survive. Same with Taviana.
