So, I finally gave in to my co-workers and bought ArmA 2 for DayZ. What a fool I was to wait so long! I am having so much fun running around almost dying of thirst and not knowing how to turn on my flashlight. Ha! My 2nd character was doing great with his hatchet until somebody capped me. I heard something but had no idea what it was. Hope he enjoyed my tin cans! Hope to see (it will be you seeing me!) you all out there....peacefully!

Welcome! Flashlight needs to be right clicked in the inventory and removed from the tool belt. It'll go in your pistol slot, then press L to turn it on.

I hope you enjoy playing! Don't let the zombies steal your face. ;)

Hi Goz! Welcome to DayZ! :)

It's great to hear you're having such a good time. Enjoy these first few days, they're unique. As you develop your experiences and knowledge, you'll start planning and strategising where you want to go, what you want to find and what you want to achieve, so your game play changes and develops. You won't be just running from zombies and running up the beach all the time. ;)

Do ask if you have any questions but also, check the pinned links and see what has already been answered. There's some great advice here for new players. :thumbsup:

I'd say use the search field but it hasn't worked for me in months.
