Auto-repairing automobile?

Normally, bicycles and motorcycles self-repair when damaged; the wiki says that this is normal, and is due to them having a different database or something (which doesn't really explain why, but okay). And, of course, other vehicles than those normally do not self-repair when damaged. However, I've observed on a number of servers, both public and private-hive, discrepancies to this rule. One time, I had a bicycle (public server) which would not self-repair like the others. And just today, I found an automobile (private server) which does self-repair (unlike the other autos on that server don't). What's the story?

Dunno but I just had an experience where I got into a damaged chopper needing several things.

Got out, and took the gunner's seat, squezed off a few rounds, Then got out, and got back into the pilot's seat. Ta-da! All green and repaired.

Didn't ask how, and didn't care why.

I promptly crashed the chopper about 100 yards away in a steep nosedive.

Auto-repair depends on how damaged it is. You can repair helis by just hovering over a repair line with scrap metal. Vehicles won´t auto-repair if they´re damaged a lot.

When you got a part and are about to repair a vehicle it says "Repair Left Back Wheel" (for example), heli got 4 parts that needs Scrap Metal, so just hover over one of them with the Scrap Metal and it repairs.

That is not what OP means by auto-repair.

He means that a damaged vehicle is instantly returned to full green simply by exiting and then re-entering into the driver's seat.

I have experienced this with numerous vehicles on public and private hives. Usually on Bikes, Motorcycles, Pick-up trucks and the Black SUV.

I think certain private hives have code that fixes this, which may account for the discrepencies between which servers do this and which do not.

Yep, as Erizid pointed out, I'm talking about the phenomenon where you dismount a damaged bicycle, then get back on, and it's repaired. It normally only occurs on bicylces and motorcycles.
