JamesButlin 108 Posted October 25, 2012 Hey guys,I'm sure everyone is as excited to hear about even the tiniest bit of news/next update from the Standalone devs as I am!I came onto the forum today to look for a topic about the standalone development so that I could make a comment/suggestion about it, only to find that the announce topic (which, let’s be honest, is a little full of posts right now - 79 pages) is one of the only (official) topics about it here on the forums.My thoughts were if we could get a Standalone Development forum section set up, to put all news/announcements/updates for the Standalone Development in, maybe stop people from being able to make new threads in here but keep it as a few threads (dedicated to news/updates, questions etc) solely around the Standalone product that people can post in?I’m sure you guys have something in mind similar to this down the line but I imagine it’d help separate it out from everything related to the DayZ Mod and give people a space to put their thoughts without further clogging up that single topic?For what it’s worth my initial question/suggestion was that I’d like to hear more about how the development is going so we can build up some hype :D . Even just the occasional “Looking at humanity system today, what do you guys think to this (include screenshot)” sort of thing?It all seems a bit hush hush at the moment but I (for one) like to see development processes because it intrigues me and helps me get excited about releases!Let me know what you think? :thumbsup: 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Fraggle (DayZ) 15720 Posted October 25, 2012 There's not a great deal of info at the moment because they're very busy making it and it's probably wise not to release too much. I loved how open the development of the mod was but in my opinion It's best that they take a quieter approach with the standalone. I personally think that not releasing much info can build just as much hype as flooding websites with images and screenshots. TBH we don't have very long to wait.The other mods may disagree with me but for now I think it's best just to carry on as is.
