Yeah, there's some nice things to be found on Arma 2. F.e. I recently joined one of the communities that do life role-playing (district life RPG). Basically you can become a cop, or rob every place you can find, or just be a truck driver :D

Things like that lets you experience the game as a base for any amount of ways you can play it. :)

I've really thought about it, but everything I've seen about Arma 2 suggests that you really need a cohesive group to play with to actually have fun with it.

I started using the armoury to get a better handle on the heli, but after screwing around in it for a while I started playing around with the other stuff. It's fun doing all the little missions and getting rewards, I tried doing the campaign a few times but I just get stuck when I'm told to regroup and my squad does nothing,

Hello there,

I'm an arma player from old. You don't *need* a clan/squad to play with, I played almost every day for the past 10 or so years (OFP/VBS/Arma/Arma2) every day and don't belong to one.

What you do need is a sense of teamwork and the ability to listen to and follow orders. Rambo's are not appreciated.

The Arma universe is vast, DAYZ only players are only getting a fraction of the whole experience.

All those "new" islands? Theyre all from Arma we've been playing em for ages. Dont wanna play Russian vs US? simple, download the army of your choice, from the FDF to French to Aliens. There's so much out there, have a peek!
