Weather effects on gun scopes

Recommended Posts

Hello my fellow bean lovers, havent done a suggestion for a while so things may not be up to scratch. In real world, weather can effect nearly everything, even gun scopes. So why not implement this into DayZ?

RAIN

- Rain drops appear on your scope, making blurring objects in-front of the rain drops.

- You can wipe your scope, but you need to wipe it for 5 seconds for it to be fully clear, or scope will become blurry, rain drops wont form for 30 seconds.

- Mud can splatter onto your scope if crawling through mud/grass, same with rain drops, you can wipe it for your scope to be clean again. (maybe longer?)

SNOW/ICE (IF IMPLEMENTED)

- If its snowing or temperature is below 0 ice could form on the scope, making scope size smaller until wiped off.

- If snowing, snow flakes could appear on the scope but would melt after 0.5 seconds.

- Condensation could occur?

HOT WEATHER

- Dust could form on the scope and small grains could form, but if not cleaned it will be harder to see through.

- Dust could form standing behind/ by vehicles.

Hope these suggestion are some what decent, will update if there is ideas i like!

UPDATE:

Heavy breathing causes scope to fog up in cold weather

I like the rain idea and dust but I've never had a scope "Ice" up I've had it fog up in cold weather but most scopes won't get condensation on them unless the seals are broke and then no matter how much you wipe it, it won't clear off. Mostly great ideas.

Nice. I am not sure if it does or not in the Arma engine but i also think wind should be a factor in sniping. In strong winds an 800m sniping shot would have to take the wind factor into consideration.

All in all more factors to make sniping harder and thus more rewarding the better.

Down with dirty scopes, bino's etc and the ability to lcean them. Most games always seem to portray them as scratchy old worn things when you look through them as if they are never looked after or uncleanable.
