Depends on your Internet connection. For me - only a few mins, we have a 28mb download speed.

The big red button at the top left. Shouldnt take long to download, might be best using DayZ commander though.

I just had a thought...

You do mean DayZ mod and not ARMA itself, right?

I downloaded ArmA 2 + Op. Arrow Head from Steam over night and it was done in the morning.

Used DayZ commander to download ArmA 2 patch, DayZ mod, and all additional maps for DayZ at the same time before I went to work. When I got home that evening they were all done.

I only have a 2 Mb connection.

Your OS has very little to do with your download speed unless you're running like Windows 3.1 for Workgroups =P
