AS-50's everywhere?

Just been playing the various maps available on dayZ commander, but is it just me, or are AS-50's utterly everywhere now? Both in chenaurus and the new maps.

Last dozen deaths have been to them, mostly at short range hipfiring AS-50's.

It would be fine if it was a "rare" item, its just right now it seems that there are dozens on each and every populated server, and its nigh impossible to kill the players with it (due to logoff, being able to hipfire with a one shottable semi auto gun and the sheer number of rounds they put down because ammo is common)

Is this due to hacking? or does the AS-50 need to be put down like the rabid dog it is right now?

Oh and most of these players are utterly terrible shots too, which means they just blaze 5-7 rounds in your direction in quick succession.

Didnt the CZ-550 get nerfed to the stone age for being over-used? Hell i remember that the CZ actually required a degree of skill to get a kill, rather than the "blaze at target widly". That and if anyone got close you were screwed. I see more AS-50's lying about and on players than any other weapon in the game right now (except perhaps the lee, due to newbie syndrome)

AS50 are still "rare" as loot but everyone keeps their AS50 as it is a powerful rifle in exchange for common rifles => few ppl keep common weapons lots of ppl keep rare weapons => rare weapons become common it's simple as that

I think the AS50 became popular because it can destroy a whole vehicle ( like m107 ).

And yes, nearly every sniper in elektro has an AS50 I Guess its because of the growing pvp in those areas.

You can join a full server and trust me youll find at least one dead body on the sniper hill in elektro, thats how weapons spread.

I've never found one myself, however after using it after it was given to me by one of my ex-clan members I can safely say that I'd much prefer something such as the DMR over it. Sure, it takes like 40,000 blood in one shot and can blow up vehicles, but it just doesn't feel... right. I can't really explain it =/

Dupers and scripters my friend. AS50 is easily the most devastating gun to use in the game, hence it being the most common illicitly obtained gun.

Yeah seriously. I respawned next to what appeared to be an abandoned sniper/bandid camp just outside of Electro. They had an AS50, L85A2 AWS, a ghillie suit, some satchel charges, NV goggles, a busted helicopter and who knows what else. Even with all that stuff, I stil keep a hill between me and Electro. I kept hearing a constant *BOOM* of sniper fire, but I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Even had a round graze me!

Yeah they are pretty ridiculous now, I don't think they should be removed but I'm sure somebody has mentioned this already but they should take your backpack slot, and ammo should be really rare and weigh a ton. I understand they could be important for groups taking out vehicles but they just dont fit the scenario of the game at all.

As soon as somebody gets an AS50 in their hands something compels them to sit on a hill and shoot at newbie survivors like a total fag.
