moxrox 5 Posted June 15, 2012 Seems like the latest Battleye bans did struck the very heart of the hacks. Really good news and great job !Some comments I did read from those who got hit by it:"Hey guys, just got Global Banned, guess I'll be slowing down on the scripting, lol.""and it bans everyone who has recently mod-apped.F***.""F*** yourself, Bohemia Interactive.I get banned from your combat simulator just for screwing around in a GAME MOD?Im not paying Bohemia a single fucking cent more for their shit they hand me.I hope there will be a fix for this other than buying a new key""Im jewing on those f******.They brick my copy because i mod-app their little game mod?Fuck bohemia interactive and Day Z team, im not giving them any more cash.""I'm kinda with you on that front, man. It seems they've forgotten that it is a mod and was never declared an "official" Arma addon. I would go on the forum and suggest they go f*** themselves or try to get it repealed.Sorry you got globaled.EDIT: How about instead of complaining, we get new keys and crash every server in existence?""A global ban will mean any server running battleye your now banned from (if you were caught, or if that matters)" "too many ppl in this community are just dumb retards with a tiny ego who jerk off when they bomb a whole server to oblivion. these guys are real losers, nothing more. dumb fucked up script kiddies." Virfortis 111 Posted June 15, 2012 I felt a great disturbance in Chernarus, as if thousands of hackers laughed out in lulz, and were suddenly silenced. I feel something gleefully wonderful has happened.

ZedsDeadBaby 2287 Posted June 15, 2012 Glad to see the main ARMA 2 forums are generally out in force against these guys too, and largely supportive of DayZ and the influence it could potentially have on the ARMA franchise.I went there half expecting to read a ton of "Fuck these zombie lovers" type posts, but quite to the contrary most people seem really civil and open to how DayZ shows off the ARMA engine and it's potential to bring new blood to the game.Actually increases my already growing desire to take a break from DayZ for a few days and try out some standard ARMA MP... back when I played OFP I only played offline so I never really had the MP experience I'm sure it's thrilling.http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?135916-Stop-making-a-complete-ass-of-yourself-BohemiaOh, man, even better as you read on and the BI guys get involved. I'm really having a good time with this. My faith in every aspect of this community just shot up tenfold.
qbert 4 Posted June 15, 2012 It's not just DayZ hackers either, it's ALL hackers. As in, every douche that comes onto regular Arma servers just to drop nuke hacks mid-mission, they're dealt with now too. Even if they come back, I'll be happy knowing that they had to pay even more money just to get their fix of griefing. We just get to sit and watch them struggle. I hope the folks at Bohemia can keep their BattleEye hack detectors updated enough to keep on dealing with them. I love this company.EDIT:Zed beat me to it, but it still stands, the effect on vanilla arma players has improved.

LeYuno (DayZ) 51 Posted June 15, 2012 I just hope that scripters that are good enough to create these hacks will start to realise that the scripts they post online freely end up kicking them in the nuts as there are always 12 year olds that will be stupid enough to nuke 20 servers in a row and piss off the company behind the game. this was a blow to their community but i'm afraid this will come back in force. lodestar 3 Posted June 15, 2012 I don't know why Arma 2 players wouldn't be happy with this. I remember some time ago a few public servers were impossible to play because of hackers. I left Arma 2 mostly because of that. My favorite servers were all the time with the base carpet-bombing script and it was impossible to play.

The gaming industry needs more of this.
xls.akm@gmail.com 0 Posted June 15, 2012 You should have a look over at the ban section of the DayZ forum. Its hillarious to read all the pathetic excuses, rage posts, crying kid posts etc, having a really good laugh!
thygrrr 1 Posted June 15, 2012 I love this. I hope there are no false positive bans, but I'm sure they were extra cautious not to let that happen. :)
