Seems like the latest Battleye bans did struck the very heart of the hacks. Really good news and great job !

Some comments I did read from those who got hit by it:

Glad to see the main ARMA 2 forums are generally out in force against these guys too, and largely supportive of DayZ and the influence it could potentially have on the ARMA franchise.

I went there half expecting to read a ton of "Fuck these zombie lovers" type posts, but quite to the contrary most people seem really civil and open to how DayZ shows off the ARMA engine and it's potential to bring new blood to the game.

Actually increases my already growing desire to take a break from DayZ for a few days and try out some standard ARMA MP... back when I played OFP I only played offline so I never really had the MP experience I'm sure it's thrilling.

It's not just DayZ hackers either, it's ALL hackers. As in, every douche that comes onto regular Arma servers just to drop nuke hacks mid-mission, they're dealt with now too. Even if they come back, I'll be happy knowing that they had to pay even more money just to get their fix of griefing.

We just get to sit and watch them struggle. I hope the folks at Bohemia can keep their BattleEye hack detectors updated enough to keep on dealing with them. I love this company.

EDIT:Zed beat me to it, but it still stands, the effect on vanilla arma players has improved.

I just hope that scripters that are good enough to create these hacks will start to realise that the scripts they post online freely end up kicking them in the nuts as there are always 12 year olds that will be stupid enough to nuke 20 servers in a row and piss off the company behind the game. this was a blow to their community but i'm afraid this will come back in force.

I don't know why Arma 2 players wouldn't be happy with this. I remember some time ago a few public servers were impossible to play because of hackers. I left Arma 2 mostly because of that. My favorite servers were all the time with the base carpet-bombing script and it was impossible to play.
