Cant pitch a tent?

I am in a open field - nothing there. No tree and no bush. It is flat under my fleet. But (!) I cant pitch a tent (/build up a tent)? There is always the message that it has to be flat and .... you know

Can someone help me?

It's a known problem (you can see threads about it with search). Just try moving around and placing it, eventually it will work. Hopefully this will be fixed in a future version.

I am now on a 100 x 100 m field without 1 bush. Cant place/pitch the tent...

Yeah, it's bugged. One day I spent couple hours trying to place tents. :) Open flat area, no trees within hundreds of meters, and it still complains..

At the moment I just keep tent in the backpack until the placement is fixed.

I've heard some people have success by repeatedly clicking the tent placement while moving slightly between each one (you can move while your gear menu is open).

One thing I don't get about tents though is that they can't be packed again.

Tents work fine, you can place them anywhere it just takes some love.

Press G to open your bag, right click the tent and while moving slowly click the hell outa it.

it might make duplicate tents, but it works every time.

If it makes duplicates, just pack them until only one is left, and put the packed tents in the one tent that is up.
