First time playing DayZ failed.

Bought everything required today to play DayZ off steam and I've followed all instructions correctly step by step for the installation of the mod but whenever I right click ARMA 2: Operatio Arrowhead and click to run combined Operations I just get a little text box saying the application is already running, I've been trying it for 4 hours now to no avail, their is nothing on the web about this so I've made an account on the forums to try find an answer.

All help is appreciated on the matter as I've spent all day downloading ARMA 2 only to be slapped round the face by this text box not letting me get onto the game, really need a fix for this as I want to get into my first session on DayZ.

Tried adding that into the propertys and then running the game, got the exact same thing as before.

right click arma 2 oa in steam library go to properties and then set launch options copy and paste this "-beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash -mod=@dayz -world=empty" without quotations. Let me know how that works for you- if that fails try downloading dayz commander. I use that to play dayz. If you've tried both the only thing I can think is try to restart your pc because id assume a process has bugged in your task tray. I'll try to think of a few more things if this fails.

Update: Im thinking (if the above copy and paste didnt work) that maybe you're not running the correct version of DayZ or arma2oa has a beta update you need. For this download DayZ commander and you can easily update either of these what is out of date. Alternatively if you want to do it manually visit http://www.arma2.com...-patch.php but doing it manually is a little complicated the first couple times.

Something went wrong with steam a few days ago. It sent a message saying arma 2 needed to be replaced with more efficient file format and to click Yes to update. I did and have had the same problem as you ever since.

So what I did was reset my computer to a week ago, went and downloaded the new patch again. It didn't work on correcting the steam problem because I have a separate computer for my game storage - but I have the right version. I go into my arrrowhead directory and click on the game's executable file armaoa and the game runs fine. :thumbsup:
