Main Hive

Morning all brace yourself for yet another noob question .....

Ready ? .....

Ok here we go ....

How do i know if the server i am about to join or looking to join is connected to the Main DayZ Hive ? I say this as i had a 7 day old char on a server and they had a database error and my char was lost.

Not sure if it's foolproof but I use the fact that main hive servers seem to show the mission as "DayZ" whereas private ones show as "DayZ Chernarus".

If you look in the gamespy list of servers in the game it will says under Mission "dayz". If it says anything else, such as "dayz chernarus" or "panthera" those are other hives and you will have a different character in each of those. :thumbsup:

If you use DayZCommander, just tick the 'hide unofficial' box
