Stuck walking... have to double tap W to run?

Seems like eventually something happens and I can no longer just hit W to run. I know I can "toggle" walk / run to be default speed but even when I'm in default walk mode I can't toggle back to run! No matter how many times I double tap that key to toggle walk / run I always walk. Then in order to run I have to doulbe tap W.

How can I fix this besides logging out > back in ?

I have the same prob sometimes, hold you'r W and right click you'r mouse.

If you don't have a gun in your hand, you could have accidentally pressed right-mouse button once. That makes your character "aim", even though you can't see it yourself.

OHhhh I bet that was it! I never had a gun and it kept happening. I was using right click a lot to zoom in and scan around. I bet I tapped it like you said!

Also change your "Hold Breath" key: By default it's also on your Right-click zoom button.

You may find also that you need to double-tap your shift key if your walking and tiptoeing gets reversed.

I think I read that there were time when you got weak and started walking. But if I understand you, I had the problem where running stopped working or I could not use a weapon or lag was so bad nothing work happen correctly. I changed to a closer server where it stopped completely. Thing that does not stop is zombies coming through wall of building. I think I am safe then get attacked anyway. Hate that.

I have this problem too but I never use the wasd keys - can't reach over there without pressing the wrong keys. I use my arrow keys. I've been thinking of trying a different set up, as I want to move more quickly between C and X, and between run and walk, with one key.

Seems to be working better now. I think it was because I was stuck using iron sights ... even though I had no gun. Thus I couldn't really tell I was stuck there.
