i havent played since 1.7.2.3 and just started playing, and for some reason i have to make a new char, did they wipe chars? yes im on chern, and made sure it isnt a private hive. thank you to everyone for your help.

Nope, pretty sure they didn't! Not to sure what has happened to you but i have never had to create a new character out of the blue like you mention

I have encountered something like this before, and it was somehow resolved after killing the new character.

Happens all the time mate, magic happens and you end up at the beach. Sometimes spawning with your gear too

True, I have had that happen. Log in and just be chillin' on the beach. At least I had all my gear but sucks standing out in the middle of nowhere like that.

some servers make u start out with a new one every time...just change servers.
