Different types of Infected / Zombies

Recommended Posts

I 'm sure something similar has been posted before, But I couldn't find the post.

When the SA comes out i was wondering if the new Zed's are going to be the same style or if there were any new models to see? I know the AI has been worked on but no mention of Zombie looks and types (Man, female, child)

What I would suggest is that Zeds conform to where the map is based! I would like also to see children and zeds of all shapes and sizes. If a weight system was introduced then some of the larger zeds could be more of a threat when you were closed in, inside a building. faster ones would have better senses and behave like Berzerkers of old.

I would have to insist also that Zeds do not climb ladders and open doors, they should wait moaning their heads off until distracted by other events / players. This would add to the claustrophobia and fear of the game.

Always close doors. You never know what might wander in. You could make a run for a building and find a few zombies inside, this would terrify everyone and offer an alternative to always running inside buildings (It is understood Zeds will be able to run inside buildings in SA)

What other suggestions would you have for Zombie types (No points for a gangsta Zed)

Military zombies still holding their rifles.... they only have the ability to squeeze the trigger in a certain direction with a poor judge of accuracy... would make some players think twice about going gung ho through the military areas

So Zeds would be affected by Instinct? They would try to carry on until a player approached. which means most towns and industrial places would be highly populated places. Police zombies walking the beat, Soldiers guarding bases. This would add some realism to the game.

Yes like a small fragment of their human self still exists, what they carry etc, Farmer zombies maybe with pitchforks, Police with small arms (M9 or such) giving the impression that there was life before DayZ

Since the zombie lifespan is going to be a part of the SA, it would be interesting if the earliest state could still utilize weapons and speak to a minimal degree, but still want to kill you, and the latest state would be the most dangerous in close range, becoming a living carrier for all sorts of nasty and painful diseases.

This would be the best option IMO too. Also they should be able to grab/bump/push your player who would react with this instead of just standing still as they do now.

I agree! And police/soldier zombies should sometimes have maybe body armor/riot gear and be harder to take down. I would imagine there would be some police in full riot gear when a zombie outbreak happens. Also would make a military loot adventure be more satisfying knowing there is more risk.
