Hetstaine 10852 Posted October 16, 2012 After getting the shits with rampant hacking on the server..waiting on a server restart that was taking forever he started an (unamed game) discussion. Very quickly devolved into a you Dayz fanbois sucking blahs blahs dick and all of that mature sort of stuff. Noticing his mature attitude when calling faggot, losers and dicksuckerz over side and that standalone will not be out this year (unraging against his rage lol) i said 'put your money where your mouth is OMGWTF. Told him i got 50 says it will be out this year in alpha. After much more raging and swearing , where i had to ask why he was so angry ..would he not get his lipstick dlc for (unamed game) ? Anyway..i know this is pointless but i figure if he has so much gusto in game i told him i would post at the forums to settle the deal..seems fair to me. You sidechatting everyone in the server and calling people out..lets do it. Admittedly just before i aborted after the last round of his verbal abuse i did tell him to enjoy his fail, i also told him several times i loved him. GhillieTV 5 Posted October 16, 2012 (edited) I don't doubt the game itself being awesome, my curiousity is whether between the hacker fest that people are used to, the large amount of time that people have already played the game, and the competitors coming in, will a standalone version of essentially the same game with some tweaks be able to keeep solid player interest considering most gamers now have the attention span of...oh look, a chipmunk. December so its not going directly head to head with 'the unnamed game'.. ppl will get bored of the other one and then there will be uber sales when Dayz SA hits us! kebman 213 Posted October 16, 2012 Number one reason: The other games are focused on arcade action, and not simulated realism (well, with the obvious caveat of how realistic a zombie apocalypse can ever be). Why I don't play much BF3, or think BF3 is kinda meh, is because it only offers arcade action, and not real immersion where you have to take choices you might would have to take in real life too.In BF3 you already know what the other player's gonna do. In this game you don't and you might end up meeting a friend. In BF3 you just meet another player, and then you kill him - always. In DayZ at least you have an option.That's why I'll keep playing this game over any other unless that other game can show very similar traits. And let's face it, with halos around the guns and equipment in the other game, and fake and arcady gun mechanics and physics, this is one extremely easy choice for me.However, for you it might be different. Maybe you loved CoD, and would like to see the same game again, only with a zombie apocalypse skin. Then the other game is probably for you! :D In any case: Happy hunting!
