AdoTheMan 0 Posted October 15, 2012 Recently bought a server on vilayer.com. I Have figured out most of it I think?only have a couple of questions.How do I protect my server from hackers? Right now it says on my server:"Unofficial - This server is not connected to the hive, or it is missing the required anti-cheat protection"It is supposed to be a public server, but its working like a private hive, i guess because there is no anti-cheat. I am Worried about Hackers ruining my server. I feel like a noob dont really know if my server is correct. Any help is appreciated. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

In all honesty that is a good thing, the official hives to my knowledge are still having issues with vehicles & tents saving and that issue came about a month ago atleast. Private hives had it fixed almost immediately whereas; they official guys are still dealing with it.Private hives can and do run battleye. You can actually have more anti-hacks on a private hive then you can on a official public hive. You can have a public private hive if that is what you are looking for, anyone can join it. Players loadouts and such just wont carry over to other servers is the only difference(however if I am not mistaken vilayer has an option to link your server to a hive they operate) and again in my opinion that is the best way because it eliminates the server hopping problem.
