It looks like my server is up and running again with vehicles! I am missing tents and other placed object like barbed wire, were they just lost as part of the upgrade, or are there still problems with my server?

I was about to say.. but pretty much half of the people here already mentioned it. Dying in DayZ is supposed to give you a big penalty. while I can imagine the frustration behind it when being in a clan war. I'd be awfully discouraged to buy the standalone if they had a feature to set a home location in the game. in my eyes that is complete bull and would ruin the entire concept. I actually like the fact that you'd spawn like at least 5km away from your corpse at any give time. being able to reloot your body in general is something that troubles me already, sure it is convinient to be able to retrieve your loot when you happen to be close by and it would be highly frustrating when you couldn't just when you had a character with high end gear but hey, what would otherwise be the penalty of dying if you'd be straight back to your character and be able to reloot it? being able to store your stuff and gear in tents and vehicles should be beneficial enough if you ask me. PS: I'm side tracking here because you probably are aiming to be wanting to get back to the action rather than just being able to reloot your corpse.

DayZ - permadeath is important! It gives this game the reason that makes it so good! Death sucks because it is meant to. You should learn that every decision can lead to death and respect, as in real life. I personally think that you should not be able to loot your own corpse. Death should be, well - final. Furthermore gear should be damaged or destroyed on shot up bodies - based on weight of bullet and number of hits - a fifty cal round won't leave much useable. When u see a player - u should hide and think. U should pause and check your situation. Are they alone? Am I flanked? Will I gain anything from this? Is it worth the risk? If you engage and lose - well you lose everything, as it should be. On your predicament - strategy and tactics are for amateurs, professionals talk about logistics. You Sir are failing at all of them. Tactics - don't get shot, don't loose, learn and adapt and win. Logistics - your clan is failing to get resources into combat - I would suggest your clan works on a logistics network. A tent with gear and transport nearby (bike or vehicles) to get the fallen back into combat ASAP. One base is doomed to fail. Plus you get to defend and raid your and other logistic networks too - now there is more fe Play for you! Why not have a dedicated pick up/ ferry vehicle? Swap who gets to pull logistics duty? They also get to be the cavalry. There is nothing wrong with the mechanic, if fact it needs to be tougher! You need to learn, adapt, plan, and then win :)

I got into DayZ again after a long while today and me and my friend started scavenging and setting up a base. We are both very experienced dayz players and were looking for others to share the fun with. We have weaponry, vehicles a base and pretty much everything we need! We dont take the game too seriously and we fuck around a lot but when it comes to PVP and gun fights we expect a cold head. Stuck at Wait for host, got a ticket in. No errors reported during the upgrade process , followed it to a T. I do notice that not all my vehicles transfered over from the other database too.

Hey though get onto this topic, since i rent a Vilayer Server, currently set to Chernarus Public, 30 vehicle spawns.. We finally got the server to run, after experiencing login issues (stuck on loading screen). We initially didn't have any issues with vehicle spawns, we got our 3 helis etc, all was fine, even after an attempted Hacker hijack, server re-start solved the problem and they respawned Now, after a new update 3.7.2, im getting No Choppers, and im getting multiple instances of vehicles spawning next to each other. Ive tried re-install, re-starting still same issues, looking at RPT file, doesn't seem to show up any Choppers..So is this an issue with Vilayer Hive? or the Updated has screwed things up? Cheers

Dans DayZ UK1 has been online since August. We have many regular players & donators but it's always nice to see some new faces enjoying the server. We have 4 active admins that keep an eye on the server ingame & via our admin tools. We've caught silly amounts of hackers and attempt to keep it as hacker free as possible. There are 60 (NOT 50) vehicles on the server (3 UH-1H Hueys, 4 Military Offroads), any missing spawns from the database have been added manually (based on the dayzdb.com/map). There are no smallboats or fishing boats (horrendous vehicles), all have been replaced with PBXs. The server is passworded and the password rotates weekly (found on our website here: Dans DayZ). The server goes light @ 14:00 (2pm) & dark @ 2:00 (2am) GMT. Our server restarts every three hours, this keeps the load in times under 30 seconds on average. We keep our server as up to date as possible with fixes & optimization. Myself and possibly a few friends are looking for a server to play on. We have some criteria that we'd prefer to have met. Prefer to have: - 3rd Person enabled - A reasonable amount of choppers (Less than five is preferable) - Moonlit nights - Active Admins - Loot actually appearing (I hate being on servers that lag to the point that loot doesn't show up.) Also, it would be nice to see things like customized buildings, vehicles, loot tables, and modified weapon drops. Extra props if you have the Thermal weapon removed.

Well, I've got all of these posts but I've never uploaded a vid so here goes! Some of the guy's decided to arrange a Rallye because the server was changing maps. Everyone had a few day's to prepare their vehicles and a ceasefire was arranged (normal play continued on the other servers). The race was from the SE corner of the map and there were 2 checkpoints that had to be crossed (Gorka & Komoravo). We arranged for some bandits to wait at the checkpoints and they were allowed to damage the vehicles on the way past using small-arms fire. Anyhoo, it was great fun so I made a short vid of it. There was only a couple of people FRAPsing which is a shame because we missed some of the checkpoint action. BTW - For future reference, if Youtube asks, don't click "Stabalise ViD" - It has some weird side effects...

I mean well run private hives with active admin teams and latest logs. Not Randomdudexxxsephirothxx's private hive of 120 awesome vehicles. Private hives that use white listing are what I am referring to.

This suggestion mainly erupted from issues I have from gameplay with my squad and solo gameplay. Situation: I find a lovely offroad pick-up truck, of which is WHITE. I want to hide it and keep it for myself. I begin to drive, collecting weapons and items and then come upon the perfect spot to hide it. My only problem is...it's white. Now...green surroundings (foliage et cetera) and this truck is white. And survivor who isn't a fool would notice it. Solution: Create a camouflage tarpaulin that will cover the car/truck (Ural for example), and even if you feel adventurous...a UH-1H. However, for a bus, I believe that would be highly improbable that someone would apply this tarpaulin to it, although, I could be wrong. Features: The tarpaulin would be visible held down by pegs and rope, similar, maybe exactly like, the tents at locations such a Balota and, or Berezino. Also, the wheels, or at least half the wheel would be visible due to the tarpaulin not exactly covering it like a silk sheet, for an example. Usage: These tarpaulins are able to be taken down and put back up, using the same item. This allows the aspect of realism even more in the game as theoretically, the tarpaulin wouldn't just disappear once taken down. Please discuss. I wouldn't take my time to suggest this if I didn't think it was a good idea.

Hey people, Just want people to know that Me and a friend have a server up and running, we would like for more people to play on it. StormSeekers Operations is a great server. While playing, you can disconnect and reconnect to spawn yourself a bike. You start with map, hatchet, flashlight, matches, and a mak with two mags. Waypoints are enabled as well. Another cool thing about the server is that it has over 50 vehicles and 6 helicopters on the map. The admins also host events to give the players a chance for really good loot such as nvg's and rangefinders. For example, for the past few weeks, the admin placed a military Taliban compound west of Pobeda Dam. It was swarming with taliban AI wielding M107s, SAWs, and AK's. There are a few patrols as well. Once you clear the AI, you can infiltrate the base and search for the hidden tent that has all the loot inside. I'll post a video below so you can see how the event works. I said that, and by that I meant what I said before, about that it happens people forget to save the tents. I think it's not a big deal that shit happens. It's because of a flaw, that is 'part of the game'. That's what I said. And I hated that flaw, I was very relieved when it was finally fixed. But you guys only hear what you wanna hear, from Wombat who goes from our teamspeak to yours. Like I said, stop taking that out of context, it's really unfair. We did nothing wrong man. And you miss the point about that shooting. It's not about who shot who. It's about you leaving after we knocked out your entire squad, and than you blaming us for duping. You just needed that as an excuse to nurse your wounded pride. Let me tell you now, I'm a very bad shot, it's not about that. But you focusing on who shot who kind of proofs my point. It's your pride.... I know how it feels, I have it to, it's not a bad thing to admit it. Just don't accuse the one who shot you of duping, just to hide your damaged pride. But since we are going down that road; 'going down one by one'? Huh? Didn't we wipe your enire squad and vehicles after that? That kind of talk is exactly why I can't take that shit from you guys. You seem to think you are very awesome, and you are on a total flippin' high horse towards everyone else. Lee-Vilayer, I (and I'm sure a lot of other people as well) would like to know what happened with the DayZ Planet Hive over the last couple of days (October 17-18, 2012.) Yes, it's all pixels. Yes, it's just a game. Yes, it's just a mod. But seriously, what happened? Because myself and a lot of other people lost hours of time invested in playing. I logged off and went to bed with multiple helicopters and vehicles fixed up and parked at an established base (on the Fallujah Map.) I wake up and can't log in. After roughly a full day we're given an emergency code update and when we log back in everything we had just spent many hours of gameplay to put together was gone. Tents, gone. Gear, gone. Vehicles, gone. Helicopters, gone. And no idea when they (the vehicles and helicopters) will respawn on the map. The only thing my character(s) have is the gear they logged off with. And, quite frankly, I have several pissed off players on my servers because of this, and I can't say I blame them. Can we eventually work it out and get our stuff back? Certainly, but that doesn't fix the lack of trust my players now have in DayZ Planet. It would have been nice to at least see a post on the forums advising us of a major glitch and what to expect. If this wasn't a DayZ Planet issue then I apologize. However, that's what I was told by my server company rep ... that DayZ Planet had glitched and caused this problem. So, please, enlighten us. Ok for me it seems that for about every 5 players chances are 1 of them may be hacking of some sort. Either teleporting, god mode, weapon crates, or something along those lines. Good thing the server I use the host is Great at removing/banning the abusers of the hacks. Granted some hackers are nice and willing to supply you with gear or best yet a bugged vehicle. I was playing with buddy's then one said they got shot then Next thing I know a gullies up player showed up next to me and he was bleeding out his neck and didn't need a bandage or transfusion. Then he decided to give me a LMG then out of know where he spawned 4 vehicles about 10 sheep and a player right near us. And said Here you go! Was talking with host and we tried to figure which player was the hacker only since he did shoot and kill one of are players by use of teleporting. Found his Ingame name was "Dome" and he was kicked/banned since not following servers rules. He also ended up dropping a crate of gear too bad server kicks instantly for users with illegal guns or I would have gears up fully. Instead I refrained and kept my AK74 to not be cheap but code idea to get in a car he spawned. Ofcourse with my luck "Murphy's Law" I opened door to get in drivers seat and INSTADEATH for me... Here I was trying to to abuse or use hackers gear just go for a joy ride in the car and maybe crash it purposely for giggles Well I won't do that again. So be WARNED "OLD HATCHBACK" hacked cars can be a trap. Are group ended up blowing up the cars and the gear crate and looting my body and think they recorded it If I find video I will post the link.
