@ GreatBigJerk If you delete all your vehicles in the database and respawn them all they should all be working on land now. For some reason it was using the cherno spawn locations but Ersan has fixed it :D -
Once I found a private hive I never looked back. The game has been far more enjoyable the last month or two. My only problem is the admins in the private hive I was playing in hoard items off map and even spawn all the choppers at their base in debug. I delt with it long enough and the final straw was when my tents started disappearing on a regular basis. There was no way for me to stock up on items with tents disappearing and hackers teleporting all vehicles every few days. I have tried looking for a new server but I am pretty picky on what I am looking for. If you have any suggestions I am up for trying. What I would like in a server. 1. Little to no night-time 2. Steady server population of atleast 20 3. Prefer servers with more than the standard vehicle amount 4. Admins who are not spawning in items and basically playing God over the whole server.

Can dogs (when the patch is out) get into cars?

Dogs are probably just going to follow a similar command structure to what Arma already has for squad members. In Arma, there's dozens of commands for your squad including ordering them to get into vehicles and even specific seating (Though I doubt the dog can drive). -

As stated above, the ZUNPC is looking for members to join us. Here is some information and requirements. We are a friendly group of DayZ players who survive "one can of beans at a time" and also help out bambis and kill bandits. We know that sometimes killing other players has to be done for the good of the group, however bandit kills on non-combatants, bambis, or others who have already stated they are friendly is not tolerated by the ZUNPC. If the ZUNPC finds anyone who has killed one of the previously stated people, that bandit's life will be ended at the earliest possible junction. Other than that the ZUNPC tries to help Bambis and friendly fresh spawns whenever they can with basic supplies and medical attention. If you do chose to join the ZUNPC you simply put the [ZUNPC] tag in front of your DayZ name so that you can be recognized by other members who have not played with you before and by players on a server who know that ZUNPC members are friendly. The tag that will sometimes follow such as [ZUNPC] Nate [Medic], [ZUNPC] Bubba [sniper], [ZUNPC] Phantom [scout], etc. are completely optional and you can make create one at your discretion once you are assigned a role but again it is not required. Feel free to put the [ZUNPC] tag in front of your Steam name as well however that is also not required and is left to your discretion. The ZUNPC could not really give less of a damn about age, maturity and how well you get along with the group is much more important to us. To apply please add [ZUNPC] n.bro199 (myself) and/or Phantom ^.^ on Steam for an invite or post it in this discussion. We are accepting people who can fullfil one of the following roles, Scout (first one in, checks for other players and takes out zeds, also drives any vehicles we find), Assult ( Always had an assult/battle rifle and a lot a mags, if the group runs into trouble the assulter simply shoots the hell out of that trouble), Medic (should have more blood bags and morphine then ammo and is always somewhere close to the action just in case), Sniper ( Keeps the group safe at a range, will usually have a second sniper with him/her to spot and keep zeds away), Engineer (In charge of repairing vehicles and setting tank traps, bear traps, and barbed wire if the situation arises), Light Machine Gunner(LMG) (Uses 100-200 round mags to mow down hoards of zombies or pin down bandit groups) Zed Whistler (Uses a loud assult/battle rifle/LMG (FN FAL, AKM, M240 to draw zeds of fellow survivors to take them into a building and gun them down), Specialist (has some medical and industrial supplies as well as STANG, AK, and DMR ammo for fellow group members), Medium Range Marksman(MRM) ( Stays in between the snipers and assulters with M16A4 ACOG, L85A2, or DMR and can give a greater volume of covering fire for the group). Our group currently operates in and Admins an active server, Burningsilicon. The owner may be shutting the server down this month. We are looking for West coast hosted server with plenty of vehicles and preferably no L85/AS50. We also prefer veteran settings. -

Is there a changelog or official post where we can see updates or is this a one-time thing? I see that you unblacklisted certain vehicles and weapons, skins etc. Please can you consider unblacklisting more objects like Search Lights, Static Machine Guns etc. These would be very cool for bases etc. Thank you!

I have Squad XML set, Hero skin, gun lowered, TMW Clan tag on right of my name from XML. Also when in vehicles a red cross appears on my doors signing I am a medic. :) and I speak in direct often announce I am a medic. Not sure if this has been brought up before. What do people think about forcing 1st person view? I never play in it because that would put me at a disadvantage but I think it would make the game more realistic. In third person you can look over barriers, watch ur back while running, and makes operating vehicles easier. Sneaking up on someone to chloroform is almost impossible as most people constantly swivel their camera around using alt. 1st person would also force you to actually use the windscreen glass which i just pass up now because who needs it when my camera floats outside of the vehicle. I imagine piloting a helicopter would also be infinitely more difficult, making it harder to scout camps from the sky. -
Fraggle's right. Good admins are so important to a fair and open game. Some servers are run by a player for himself and his mates to hunt down innocent players who don't even know that's what's happening - and bad admins will often steal all the good vehicles. Good admins might have one vehicle and leave the rest to the other players. :thumbsup:

We lost ours yesterday too. Two stop and starts and four restarts and still no vehicles... Checked a couple vehicle spawns and all vehicles had respawned :(. So we got started on gathering all over again.... With the glitches and hackers we have gotten use to losing vehicles every 7 days. Just happens we get a hacker everytime the heli spawns :( Tents didnt disappear. Which saved us alittle...

Our server has beta 97448, playing with client 98220 (dayz 1.7.2.6) and all our vehicles disappeared with one server restart and has not reappeared after the following 6 restarts. The vehicles disappeared just after midnight today (all times GMT+2 unless I am mistaken), and the following are the server restarts that were made: 10/27/2012 00:30:14 10/27/2012 00:18:48 10/27/2012 00:10:41 10/27/2012 00:07:06 <--- the other restarts only had some of the tents reappear, with vehicles missing 10/27/2012 00:02:29 <--- vehicles and tents disappeared after this server restart What is a ".RPT" ?

The Recruitment Process After filling out a preliminary recruitment application (detailed below), candidates that are viable for recruitment will be contacted via PM and a voice interview will be arranged. Well, I noticed that my .RPT was exploding in size, probably due to a bugged out vehicle continuously taking damage. This was indeed the case, but after restarting the server the vehicles wouldn't appear. At first I thought this was just the server restart bug. But alas, this wasn't the case. All the old vehicle IDs on my server seem to have been replaced by brand-spanking new vehicles ID! The chopper apparently hasn't even spawned yet. It looks like most of the old tents and other static objects are still there though, but that's just a slight consolation given how much effort me, my buddies and the other regulars have put into obtaining and maintaining vehicles. Even though I'm quite sure this is one of those "unfortunate, but deal with it" moments - does anyone have a remote clue how to get our old vehicles back? Has anyone else experienced this recently?

Hello DayZ community! :) First of all, I'm not a native English speaker, so excuse me if I make mistakes writing this. If anything is unclear because of false use of vocabulary, please let me know so I can change it. Second, I read the sticky which summarizes the ideas given by the community and some of the ideas might have inspired me and might be repeated in a slightly different form or even be repeated in the exact same form. Sorry if something like this happens. It's not my purpose to take credit for those ideas! What I did here, was writing down all the things which have to be necessarily changed in my opinion. Many things are not very detailed. I will often write about chances, while I will never give numbers. I will write about positive and negative effects, while I wont say how they will exactly work. The reason for my impreciseness is less laziness than the reduction to the things that are really important for me. I want to give a basic construct and leave a margin for details. After telling you all the reasons why you should not read my post, I'll tell you why it might be interesting to take a glance. Some of the ideas are new with certainty and well-conceived. And I belief the text has a good structure. I gave every idea a number, so please refer to them, when you want to discuss an idea. Another thing about my ideas, most of them are easy to implement in the game and won't use much resources. A few are only realizable through resources. Those are carefully considered. Many people on this forum come up with great ideas, but many do the mistake of not considering this factor at all. Sure, BF3 graphics, details and physics would be nice in DayZ, but lets be realistic :lol: (1.) Player spawn, loot spawn, map (2.) Suicide (3.) Nighttime (4.) Weapon modifications (5.) Weapons (6.) Anyone got a clue how to add more vehicles spawn points to my Saintly Server? I seem not to have Landrovers in it so I had a try at adding them. I've edited the vechicles.pl so they get spawned and edited out a few of the old bikes and replaced them with LandRover_CZ_EP1 but on inspection in game the vehicles spawn being clipped to other objects like fences. I see that the Spawn table in the Db has only 73 entries, so I guess I need to add more in here. But is there a tool that allows me to quickly enter the correct XYZ co-ords?

In my saintly Server I've set it to clean up tents left untouched after 20 days. It's set in the vehicles.pl script Seems more realistic to me. If a player goes on holiday for 2 weeks then they're still there when they come back. -

Chernarus Free Zone - a PvE/PvP Role Play server

A lone island off the Russian coast, the Chernarus Free Zone has been established by those immune to the super-flu like plague that has swept the planet. Although they themselves have not been turned, they battle every day to survive against their former neighbors, who themselves are no longer human. Currently their mission is simple - have some sort of community order, develop an efficient system of combating the current threat of zombies, and eventually re-establish a working society. Some members of the zone work together, some stay to themselves. Some never use violence, some will kill on sight, whether human or zombie. However, all have one common goal - make it to the next day alive. Hi all, some friends and I just started up a new password protected private hive server. We are hoping to find a few more like minded individuals to join in on the fun. It's an unusual setup, and I'll say off the bat this server will not be for everyone. We have some pretty strict but fair rules, and anyone with a mindset to play on this type server will definitely have a blast. There are certain zones where PvP is allowed, others it is not. Property rights essentially exist, with respect to player camps. There are modifications to the map, such as extra barracks in military areas. There are plenty of vehicles, and they spawn with every server restart. We never change anything big on the server without an input from all the players. Also, the server is constantly evolving. With that being said I will lay out the server rules. *No you aren't required to RP, most people don't* 1. No mic spamming side chat - casual talk is ok but you don't need to narrate your dayz life 2. PvP - attached is a map. This map is a visual way to determine PvP areas. There are red zones, which are for PvP. ANYTHING NOT IN A RED ZONE IS A GREEN ZONE. PvP is not allowed in the green zone. The following are red zones - Northwest Air Field - Bilota Airstrip - Northeast Airfield - Stary Sabor (tents and town) - Devil's Castle (for PvP events) - Helicopter crashes These red zone areas all have additional Barracks buildings added to them to increase high quality military loot and make the risk of PvP even more worth it. 3. ABSOLUTELY no scripting/hacking. Instant permaban. 4. No over the top harassment of other players. PvP is one thing, but keep chat classy. 5. No invading the camps of other players without their permission. If you are invited, it's one thing. But if you stumble across an obvious camp, stay away and do not steal from your fellow players. If caught, you will be banned. 6. No more than 2 helicopters for each squad camp - only 1 chopper per lone wolf camp (a Lone wolf is someone who only plays solo). 7. Admins can provide excess sandbags/barbed wire for camps. Just let them know if you need some to decorate your camp. 8. Any issues that affect your gameplay should be brought to an admin. 9. Under no circumstances can you give out the password to this server. Doing so will result in a ban. Each player must go through the application process unless an admin clears them first. 10. No camps within 400m of a red zone. This is to prevent people from sitting in their camps and sniping enemies, etc. 11. All playstyles are allowed. As this is a role play based server there may be bandits, who use dirty tricks. As long as it doesn't violate any of the rules, it is allowed.
