No offense, not trying to be a twat! Loot is easy to find, it would be easier just going to a barracks. Vehicles can be destroyed, then meaning you have to loot the parts to repair. Wouldn't a key / lock mechanism be more effective? as opposed to a hunting camera? 1st rule of DayZ "Don't get attached to your gear" I started playing as a camp wrecker, I would actively search for camps and take everything and destroy all stuff, The numerous times I have taken vehicles they have never been taken back to their originating camps. Eye witness accounts are live accounts, a camera will not have as much information, for one it won't tell you where it was last seen!

Bass, when its offline thats because he is either adding things to the server or restoring things (such as destroyed cars) I also love this server, the only dayz server I will play now. Awesome modifications such as outposts, more vehicles, supply camps and custom loot too. If you're looking for a server then try this one.

Not necessarily, If you get to your camera and see the direction they headed off with your vehicles you can basically predict where they will hide them. I know this because I have tracked down my stolen vehicles about 7 times before by using eye witness accounts on friends that told me what direction they headed. Sure i spent about 2 hours looking for them but hey I got my shit back. But if my friends weren't there then the cameras were and I can use that, It can also be used to place in random places in the woods and lets say you decide to check those random cameras you put and you end up seeing vehicles headed into heavily forested areas where bases are usually placed you can track them down and take their loot. Yea you will lose any guns they logged out with but thats why you log out with the 2 favorite guns that you do not want to be taken.

Things are starting to return to normal after the hacking incident earlier in the week, sorry about the late responses on e-mails but we'll be answering all of them today. We added new servers at every location except Salt Lake City (which will be available wednesday or thursday due to hardware shortage) so there should be availability everywhere except SLC. We also added a new location: San Jose, California and setup a test server in Singapore San Jose Test Server Hive: DayZ.ST Hive IP: 50.23.115.101:2302 Singapore Test Server Hive: DayZ.ST Hive IP: 216.185.103.153:2302 Also we will be transitioning to dayztaviana.com's version of Taviana later today. Unfortunately the vehicles and spawns are too different between the versions so we cannot keep them when transitioning, player data *should* be transferrable unless we give further notice. If you are an advanced user you can have a go at re-mapping the vehicles yourself, just make a backup of your database now. Sorry we've been behind on e-mails since all of the hacker problems earlier in the week, we've just caught up on security audits and fixing all of the servers and we are going to clear out the inbox now, this isn't how we normally operate and we should be getting things back to normal soon - our apologies. This is an old bug that was introduced in an ArmA2 beta, you need to change your ports to fix it - you can do this by switching to another location and back again. Any players that had your server saved in favorites will need to update their favorites. We do not support manual payments. If you want to reinstate your subscription send an e-mail to [email protected] with your username and subscription ID. You will have to sign up for a new subscription using the same username on the day that your subscription expires after we respond to your e-mail. Database passwords were changed yesterday, check your control panel for the new password. We have no choice but to support dayztaviana.com's version and drop support for dayzland.eu - bliss no longer supports dayzland.eu and our servers use bliss. We have to switch if we want to continue receiving bliss updates. I did my very best to try and re-map the dayzland.eu vehicles to the dayztaviana.com version but it's just not possible - there are way too many differences. Very sorry about how long it's taking to get FTP, this hacker business earlier in the week has put a hold on any new features while we continue our security audits and catch up on support e-mails. DayZCommander is no longer linked to Vilayer other than the referral link for servers (which we are still negotiating about, it may stay as is) - we now host all of the files and provide all bandwidth for DayZCommander, Vilayer does not any more. I talked to Josh and I think it's fairly likely that dayzcommander will stop supporting dayzland.eu Taviana in the near future. FTP doesn't pose a security problem as much as a logistics problem. We have a very different way of hosting servers that is cloud-based (config, mission, server, etc. files are generated on the fly and downloaded anytime a server is restarted, that is how we can provide managed servers on such a large scale). If we provide FTP access there are many files you won't be able to edit with it, including mission.pbo, server.pbo, arma2.cfg, profile file (edit tracers, map icon, nameplates, crosshairs, etc.), server.cfg (which will never be available because that is where max players and other important settings are held), and DayZ/map pbo's (which will also likely not be editable). The only useful things you can do with it right now are edit battleye script detection files, download logs more reliably, and add additional pbo's to be loaded using the @bliss directory. If we released FTP without any access to those files I assume people will be mad - anytime someone requests FTP access it is usually to make changes to the server pbo or mission files, so we have to come up with an alternative way to edit those files - that's what is taking so long.

Wouldn't more player placed objects simply add to the load time and slow the database down even more? I could be wrong I've never really looked into how the server databases utilize player affected data. To individual players it's just one or two cameras, a tent, barbed wire or stashed vehicle. But collectively it's thousands of pieces of crap being added by hundreds of players that the server needs to keep track of. Plus some added objects (vehicles, tents, dead bodies etc.) all have inventory that needs kept track of by the database. So I would assume that each individual camera would have its inventory content (pictures) that the database would be to keep track of. Would be cool but I don't know if it's worth the added lag.

@DayZdotST We are going to try to transition from Taviana (dayzland.eu) to Taviana (http://dayztaviana.com ) later today, vehicles will need to be reset. Just noticed this, i am extremely unhappy about it. my regular members have already been frustrated due to the constant server issues and started to leave. Now the server is finally up, there going to have to yet again change to another version, loose the vehicles they have collected If anything, shouldnt we be able to choose from the two instead of being forced one? Plus i thought we were all getting FTP! For the first time im really not happy with things at the moment -
I thought up of an idea of Hunting cameras or "Trail Cameras". For those of you that do not know about hunting, Hunting cameras are cameras that have a sensor that if anything comes across about a 70 ft in front of it. This would be pretty cool to keep around your base's as security. For example. Lets say you have vehicles at your base. You can go back to the camera the next day and check out the footage of where the person entered, about how many people, and the direction they drove off in. Lets say they drove away from your camera like a different direction that the camera cannot see. You may want to scavenge for more than one and set them up in vantage points to cover every area that you would want it to. They do not have to be used in bases but however you want to. I am pretty sure people will come up with some creative ways of using them. I also put a picture so that you can see what they look like on trees or you can even post them on a pole. Hopefully my thought gets put into an option, Thank you, Lt.Bravo

I currently have over 160 custom vehicles, 4 large military bases (w/ ammo crates and supplies), custom starting loadout, 24/7 Daylight. We have a lot of vehicles and I dont want to spoil the fun of exploration by listing them all. We are a friendly server but also dont mind the PvP of the world at all. Come and join us and have fun. the way that many should see this game when it comes to hackers it is quite simple like feeding an animal in an enclusure the animal (hackers) are happy to stay in there if fed (players) but you take that out of the equation and they starve and die off of feed of each other which relates to charma in the long run. if a hacker has you in an escapable position log off wait an hour there has to be something more productive than lose several hours (or in some cases, Months) of work and effort i broke this rule myself 20 minutes ago because i couldn't resist the allure of rare loot then you will find that the hackers are not worth it. try and stay on very small populace servers as you will have less chance of getting nuked since they would rather teleport you first so they can watch you and fellow survivors die together than stand alone and alive. i have lost numerous vehicles to the smug B**terds worst was a bus that me and six other guys had repaired and we were looking for fuel he then proceeded to teleport constantly to us to shoot us out of it so we had to abandon ship as it were and left it as well as the whole server. this is just one of the countless stories of kiddie scripters and really this won't change much until they really punch down on the kiddie scripters who cannot play this game properally which won't happen until Dayz is available in retail and even then you got to take not that arma 2 isn't a new release like Halo 4, Assasins Creed 3 or the new CoD game, it doesn't have a multi-billionaire franchise backing it up, its a game that was released in 2009 for gods sake and while the graphics are amazing in consideration you don't see any game without hackers anti-hacking goes out of date eventually and arma 2 is ridicously suceptable to hackers because its a simulation that was meant to be easily modified. -

I know, I never should have been with them. I still didn't do anything. Couldn't the admin have seen that I didn't script or done anything? You could say some innocent person picks up a hacked weapon, and according to you Welch they should get banned. When you pick up a hacked weapon you could say you interacted in hacking activities. Legitdayz.com is a community of fair gamers who play dayZ for the fun on the game. Hello Mac, I'm interested to be part of the GB Wireworld Community, but have a couple of questions before considering a move to a private server. I'm 43, located in Malaysia. Been playing DayZ for 4 months. Tired of the public servers, with their lack of stability and hackers. I'm looking for a stable, well administered server with some longevity (many of the public servers I frequent are now permanently offline and most of the gear, tents, vehicles I collected are therefore lost). I checked my ping on Wireworld via DayZ Commander. It is 200 to 220. Is this problem for you ? Do your tents save properly ? Currently, how many regulars do you have and how many folks online during peak hours ? I play nightimes which will coincide with daylight on server time. Will you let me know ? Thanks
