Hi guys, I'm hoping the forums might help generate some interest in the new community we've started building at http://www.ZeroSurvival.com please check our website to see all of the custom features included in our server currently. The main features for the lazy are: No mod downloads Custom weather - no fog ever! Rain also occurs less frequently than usual Custom debug monitor which even shows FPS Custom loot tables (no double barrelled shotguns or crossbows, no as50's, also L115's, L85s, AK107's and G36C's are present in barracks and crash sites) Custom Helicopter crash site loot (soon with different varieties of site) Random weapon crate drops Over 60 custom buildings placed in the 3d editor Loads of vehicles (150+) including non vanilla ones New vehicle spawn points Permanent daytime (nights are coming once we lock the moonlight to a high value) We had a strong user base for our server of around 20-40 people at peak UK hours before white-listing and an IP/Port change have caused the numbers to drop back down to their current levels. We are now rebuilding and improving from scratch, after programming a custom white-listing application, and making further server enhancements. We have a player referral system on the way too so if you refer a new player to the server your backpack will be upgraded for a month. We will also be moving to dedicated hardware in the near future. We have our white-listing in place so that all is needed is a forum account, you will also notice from our forums we are going to be doing cool things with stats etc using this account. Yes because a cheater cannot simply teleport everybody on the server to one of his death camps... --- @OP This rarely works, unless you have a bunch of real friends that cooperate well enough and know where everybody is you are sure to get some random guy doing a misfire or killing another and everybody starts shooting at everybody else. The last man standing gets to pick and chose from the gear and vehicles that survived the carnage. The dead ones will all bumrush back to the camp to loot the rest and we are back in Free for All mode.

There are variations. There is the green motorcycle and the red with yellow flames motorcycle. ;) And there are more motorcycles available in the ArmA 2 base content. I don't really see the point in adding harleys and BMW's though apart from the OP's apparent love for these brands? I mean, should we be adding high performance cars such as Lamborghini's and Porsche's too? What about a Nissan Micra? How about electric cars? Really, the vehicles in DayZ are used for transport. The make and model doesn't matter really. We have bad cars (slow offroad, easily damaged) and average cars and good cars in game already. We have the quad bike and the motorcycle, both fitting their respective roles. The old bike is also an excellent (quiet) mode of transport and the helicopter is very versatile. Though i am looking forwards to seeing a littlebird. (as it's much more nimble than the UH-1 and MI-17) EDIT: Oh by the way, i would however like to see the vehicles on road/off road speeds adjusted. As it is now, on a gravel road even the UAZ should be capable of maintaining 100 kph at level ground. Of course they might not be as controllable at high speeds but that's what you have brakes for. (Or in the case of the motorcycle, no brakes at all apparently. That could do with a fix too!)

Ho there, I am in need of some help! I was thinking about getting DayZ, so I downloaded ARMA 2 Free to see if my PC could handle it. ... What the hell? 800x600 window resolution, game resolution is HALF of that, everything on VERY LOW, Video Memory on VERY HIGH, FoV is on the lowest without editing the .ini so what am I doing wrong? In the editor, like, if I make a scenario just me against a bunch of soldiers in a town, I get probably 20 - 30 fps. If I join a server, like a war server, or an RP server, 10 fps. If there are vehicles, 8 fps. If there are buildings, 5 fps. If there are players, 3 fps. WHAT THE HELL!!! I have a fairly decent PC! Specs: Processor: AMD E2-1800 w/ Radeon HD Graphics 1.70 GHz RAM: 6 GB Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 7340 Graphics OS: Windows 8 I know there are mods out there that remove grass, don't animate shrubs and stuff, but I have ARMA FREE! NO MODS ALLOWED! HELP ME!

Update as per our website: http://bearcats18.en...map-change#last We are planning a Map Change for a change of pace! Now before anyone gets too worried we'll explain this a bit. We will save the Chernarus map database so that at any time we can go back to it and not lose any items/vehicles. We are not changing instantly. We will not keep the map indefinitely; unless people prefer it. All server settings will carry over; this includes vehicle count, difficulty, timezone, etc. Now, how this will work. On February 1st we will shut the server down and go about installing the Taviana map. This will take several hours to do so it will likely be done early in the morning EST. Once everything is installed we will let everyone know via normal communication methods and will be on for a few hours to ensure it works properly. We will keep the map for 1 month and then see how popularity with the map is. If we are seeing a lack of people enjoying it, we will switch back to Chernarus. While this is a rather large switch, there isn't much to it and we hope everyone has fun! As the time gets closer or details change we will let everyone know! If you have any questions/comments, let us know!

I was with somebody for nearly a month. We became good friends over Skype and shared weapons and supplies. We had eventually had tons of vehicles and a kickass camp with tons of top-tier gear. Anyway, we were going to Devil's Castle to raid an enemy camp, and I always knew I could count on him to save me if I were to get shot. Guess not. Apparently he decided to join the enemy, because right when we entered the castle he said, "Sorry, dude!", shot me in the head, and deleted me off Skype (kind of similar to Gooner's story). And this was after we became good friends, fixed up vehicles together, and shared our gear. Later on I checked our camp and all the tents were destroyed and the vehicles were gone. Just goes to show you; you can never trust anyone.

New server updates include the following: In 1-2 weeks expect: custom starting gear. Map, hunting knife, and POSSIBLY a toolbox. 3-4 weeks expect: New anti-hack system. Hey fellas. Wanted to let you know about a "Kicked From Game" message I received earlier this evening. I was exploring a certain area of the map (not outright saying to protect the area's loot) . While there, I discovered two vehicles and a tractor. I got in all three of them to see which were in the best condition, drove them for a bit to hide them elsewhere. I then got back into the one vehicle I was going to use to travel to my final destination. ... but then, I lost connection to the server. When I tried to reconnect, it said I was kicked from the game for "vehicle spawning" ... or something to that effect. I then completely shut the game down, reconnected, and it let me in without a problem. Just wanted to let you know that I was not spawning vehicles (don't even know how). Perhaps your anti-hacking programs thought I was spawning vehicles because I climbed into three of them in a very short span of time? Anyways, just a heads up. Hopefully the server is up and running soon.

No. Maybe 1.7.6 can add LoJack transmitters to all of the vehicles so we can see where they are on the map too. That should cut down on those boring survival bits between the fighting. -

i just got banned from this server for hacking? first i was looting airport and found a vodnik so i took it then after about 20 seconds of driving away i get kicked. so i join back so i asked why i got kicked people said i was hacking so i laughed and played it off then after a minute i was actually banned for hacking. any admin from that server want to tell me how i was hacking? player name Ghost. -

New server is up and running ! All character data, tents, and vehicles, were saved and migrated over to the new server. Hopefully this should resolve the Battle Eye kick errors! I.P, Port, and server name remains unchanged. A big thanks goes out to Matt @ ViLayer, this was a long winded time consuming problem but he did his best to help and looks like the problem has been solved! :) Cheers for your patience guys. So, I've been playing this mod for a while, and there are definitely somethings that I've noticed that could make vehicles in general, seem a lot smoother, and better. Animations of the character interacting with the car (ex. steering the wheel, turning the car on, opening the door, getting in the car, etc.) A radio... Sometimes, when I am driving from one place to the other, it seems very plain, so I'll turn on music from my playlist, but when I get shot at, or I veer off course and crash, I am in a rush to turn off the music, which means Alt Tabbing, pausing the music, and going back into the game. This becomes a major annoyance. So having the ability to turn on and off a car (or even handheld) radio with a hot key would be awesome and entertaining. Players could also be able to import their own music to play over the radio, though that could probably be used profoundly. The ability to lock your car. (from the outside or inside) 9 times out of 10, I'll go on a giant trip collecting gear and repairing a car, driving that car around filling it with guns or equipment I can't keep on my guy, just for it to be stolen while I am either away or offline. In my opinion, it would make sense to add keys. No car can start without a key, so you obviously need them to drive. You could also take the keys, and have them in your inventory, to trade off, or to make sure no one takes your car. This could bring up a few problems while finding cars, you could find cars that are locked and can't be looted, you could find cars with no keys, or even cars that have a broken lock and can't be locked. This would also bring up a new problem. (3.5) The ability to steal cars or loot in the cars. Having the ability to lock cars would be a little stupid without a counter to it (especially if it's YOUR stolen gear), so having the ability to break into cars would be a great way to even it out. If you have a melee weapon, you can bash in the window, but this will set off the alarm (if it has one) and the alarm can only be deactivated by the key, or wire cutters (if you catch my drift) but that is only how to get in the car. In order to start the car and drive away, you need to hot wire the car which would be a long (annoying) task indeed. The last idea on my list is a bit crazy, but would definitely happen if an apocalypse was to come. The ability to attach things to your car. Imagine it, a truck with a plow and metal panels on it's sides and rear with metal bars over the windshield. (Like "Death Race" or the infamous "Battle Bus") This could also help prevent the inevitable, getting killed in your car, you could put metal sheeting on windows with slot in them to see out of. So, those were ideas that I thought about while playing the game, and yes, I know that the last idea was a bit crazy If you have anything that you want to change about mine, or have any other ideas that pertain to cars in the game, I would gladly listen to what you have to say. (P.S. COMIC SANS!)

We have our own Team-Speak 3 server and that is where you will have to apply. We are also still deciding on which Map to place our DayZ server. Right now it is Celle but it may possibly be changed. I run the server so we will have two Forward Operating Base's with walls and buildings. I'd guess making the Czech backpack hold less was done because it has the best camouflage. In my opinion, the capacities for all storage (vehicles, tents, packs) should be reworked to better reflect volume. Carry weight/encumberance depends on the survivor rather than his kit. Whether exhaustion will play a part is yet to be seen. Mind you, there's not much point debating it this close to SA release. We should probably wait and see what we're dealing with in the first build.

We hope to have more people joining our server. We put a good amount of time into it, and try our best to keep hackers out.

hi this is my first post here and i would like to highlight some things that i definitely should be added in an update or be included in the standalone, i know some of these suggestions have been made but i would just like to show that i also hold the same view and i would like to add my own spin on it. 1st I realy think that camping stoves should be added into the game due to the fact that it would benefit over the fire due to the fact that you wouldn't have to carry firewood which would take more space up in your inventory. also a stove wouldn't give out nearly as much heat as a fire, giving reason too keep the fires, another being that you wouldn't need matches because it could have its own electronic ignitor.d but a camp stove would be quickly consumed and hence would only be used as perhaps a last ditch alternative to a camp fire or a more stealthy option as it would give out far less light also if my wight idea is implimented then it would be lighter than wood. there are more features to the stove idea on the trangia stove thread. 2nd why isn't there a weight system for inventory as well as a space system. i can see this as being a little hardcore but i think it would make an interesting dynamic for instance you can chose to either carry alot more light bandages that also take up about as much space, say as a can of beans for egsample so you can chose to carry a few more cans of beans due to weight or carry alot of bandages. i dont see how just because a guy has a bigger bag means he can carry vastly more gear whilst not having to worry about the weight of his kit perhaps have a dynamic where if you have a big bag and loads of wight you run slower than someone who has the same sized bag but is carrying realy light kit, eg a camping stove instead of firewood. i think that could make gameplay more interesting. also have lightweight alternatives to almost evrything but make the lighter stuff harder to come by eg dried fruit as apposed to a can of beans. or a sythetic (plastic) ak47 compared with a wooden one. or a plastic handled axe ect the list is endless. also as an addon if a player is carrying loads of weight he would dehydrate faster than having light kit. 3rd im torn on this debate but perhaps a game mode or an option to chose weather you have few running zombies or lots of slow "normal" zombies or even not alot of slow zombies or alot of running zombies, what im trying to say is that it would act as a sort of difficulty system you could have some servers with loads of slow sluggish zombies or a server like it is now with a few fast zombies. you get the idea. 4th why isnt hydration and hunger done in stages? i dont get it i mean i get right to the brink of dehydration, i drink a pepsi and im fine, back to normal. it could easily be done in stages ie there are 10, 20, or 100 "points" whatever some kind of scale for measuring dehydration and starvation whereby one food item would relive more hunger than another food item, making the more reliving food item more scarce. and meaning (if the wieght system is implimented) if you arnt very lucky you would have to carry around many food items as appose to a few (perhaps even heavier but taking up less space) more nutritional food items. and you could be realy in depth and have realy nutritional, light , small, food items but make them far more rare. giving the player even more incentive to scavenge furthur but also taking more risk. this would make the player think more about preparation in the fact they would have to sacrafice carrying lighter less nutritious (or if thier lucky more nutritious) food, so that they could carry that extra wepon ect. (i could ramble for ages) so with the wight mechanic and space dynamic the player has so many more factors to think about which would seperate players from those who think about their gear and what effect it will have on thier speed ect and those who dont. 5th it would be great if you could find clothing or well more accessories that you can equip your player with such as body armor or running shoes that make you run slightly faster or camo which will make you harder to see by zombies except if you are in urban environments ect.. there are many more but i cant list them all 6th also one realy top feature i would like to see is some form of modding weapons and vehicles for instance you could find metal sheets to strengthen your vehichle but at the cost of extra weight or even the opposite, striping off the doors and some of the body panels to reduce wight and hence speed but at the cost of less protection, or even the ability to add mounted guns or spikes ect, again the list goes on. for wepons perhaps you could make your wepons from scratch eg a camp stove some piping and the pistol grip from another wepon could make a formidable flamethrower and the way to get more ammo for it is to find more gas canisters for your gas stove and your flamethrower. (on a side note you could have the actual stove part dedtatchable from the canister so you can ditch an empty canister but keep the stove part so that when you come across an empty canister with no stove top you have a refill) i have many more ideas but here a few of my main ones thanks for reading and please do extend my list or add to some of the feature i have suggested as you feel neccecery thanks. -

Im am the owner and admin of the server and am looking for some cool players to join We accept noobs and if you have any questions just feel free to ask on the server about the game Server ip: 70.34.195.90:2302 40 Players Max vehicles including 4 choppers Regular Side chat is enabled Database rollbacks if a hacker messes things up. The server is day and night but, has tons of vehicles at the airfields and lots of barracks at the airfields. We do not tolerate hackers and we have admins watching all the time, they do regular checks on people and watch the map for any suspicious activity. We report your GUID and your name to our server provider so they can global ban you. Rules: 1. No hacking/cheating/glitching 2. No keeping vehicles or tents outside the map (They will be deleted without warning) 3. No Racism or overtly abussive chat 4. No Spamming 5. No Combat Logging
