BLATANT PROMOTION IMCOMING! IF YOU DON`T LIKE PROMOTIONS GO AWAY! NOTE: This server runs without addons. You do not need to install anything but the vanialla DayZ to play on it. Well hi every reading this. Which properly wont be many, but what the hell, might as well try. Basicly for about 1 months time i have been running the server UK #5005. We have a decent sized returning player base (average 10-15 at weeknights, 15-20 during weekends), and the vast majority of players are very friendly. (i spend alot of time helping people, i think ive only been shot at once.) The admins are active, down to earth, and helpfull. I myself am on every day i have time, and there will nearly allways be someone watching the server, even if theyre not playing. We run custom vehicles, which apart from the odd VW Golf, and rusty Lada, also includes the Armoured, tough, amphibious Vodnik (2 on the server), and the MTVR, an American military truck, just as tough as a Ural, and as fast as a HMMWW. On top of the new wheeled transport, the skies above Chernarus have also changed. Along side the regular Mi17, Huey, AH6 and MH6J (2 seater and 6 seater littlebird), the server includes choppers sutch as the MH60S "Knighthawk", the modernized Mi171Sh and the Hind-D. Right now (since i havent cleaned up the spawns since the new helicopter additions, or precisely added the ones that need precise adding, there are more than 10 active helicopters on the server right now. (A quick count sets 7 helicopters as freshly spawned, not belonging to any group on the server. So getting on today/tonight before i clean the spawns, and getting a helicopter is a viable option (any helicopters you pick up i ofcourse wont delete))). Thats all fine and well with the special vehicles, but the majority of you coming on will most likely top at a offroader or civilian car (there is a 150 cars, so finding one should be to difficult). So lets leave the high end gear, and focus on the things that everyone has access to right off the spawn. The biggest addition i suspect for many is in Kamenka, that hated spawn place for many. Right near the gas station, on the eastern side of town, going towards Komarovo, there now sits a supermarket, filled with all the goods a supermarket does, and should make Kamenka a much more attractive spawn point. Temporary military camps are scattered. Examples include Krutoy Cap, Elektrozavodsk School, Zelenogorsk Supermarket, And a field southwest of Vybor. Other additions include a Helicopter landing strip on top of Klen, and a barrack at NEAF. Future additions include a borderpost near Grozovy pass. That abouts covers the features of the server, and while these are nothing special, the players on the server are friendlier than any other server i have seen, so getting going, and finding people to play with is often easier than normal. Is there a way for me to reset my map so only the default vehicles are on it, without starting a new database?

Just wanting to hear some opinions here. I play on a private hive that has a decent amount of vehicles, but I personally prefer to trek on foot. For me the stress of having to keep it hidden or not knowing if it will be there on next login is too much. Also, it's a little more quiet looting, yea, it takes a lot longer to get from place to place, but it's easier to spot tents and other vehicles to loot when you're not going 100 kph. Anyone else?

This is just something that I was thinking about as something that I think would make sense and add to DayZ. What if we could use (after our vehicle had been fully repaired) extra parts, like scrap metal, to beef up our cars? For example, if I had a fully repaired sedan, and I had 2 scrap metal on me, I could have the option to "Reinforce Bumper" or "Reinforce Frame" which would make the sedan more sturdy and able to take collisions better than normal. Or I could "Reinforce Wheel" with an extra wheel to make my sedan's wheels be tougher and resist bullets a little more. Maybe even an "Improve Engine" command that would take one engine parts and add 10 kmph to your top speed I think that this would satisfy some of the people complaining about how fragile cars are, and it would also make vehicles somewhat customizable, and more add more value for a "Souped Up" car. Plus it doesn't need a new item to make it work. Of course this wouldn't necessarily apply to aircraft, seeing as they are already quite powerful.

I would like zombies to NOT be able to hit me when I'm passing them doing 50 miles an hour in a huge military transport vehicle. The whole idea of them hitting you and pulling you out is incredible and I like it, but could you make it so it's not so obnoxious? If my body is inside a moving vehicle, I shouldn't start bleeding from a zombie, especially when that vehicle has me 5 feet off the ground.

Hey All, I dont know if this has been suggested already, but since I couldn't find it I'm creating this topic. What I would like to see in DayZ (in the mod as well as the SA) is to be able to strip vehicles of their usefull parts. For example: you have 2 cars. Car 1 is without wheels. Car 2 without engine Now what if you are able to strip the wheels of car number 2 and place them on car 1 so you have a useful car? Since I usually find loads of crap cars I would love to see this implemented. Since you might have problems that people strip their own vehicles so they cannot be stolen one should only be able to strip useful parts if at least 1 other part is red or not functioning at all. So if you find a perfect Helicopter you shouldnt be able to remove the Main rotor part. Thanks for your consideration! Azziax
