Hey All, I dont know if this has been suggested already, but since I couldn't find it I'm creating this topic. What I would like to see in DayZ (in the mod as well as the SA) is to be able to strip vehicles of their usefull parts. For example: you have 2 cars. Car 1 is without wheels. Car 2 without engine Now what if you are able to strip the wheels of car number 2 and place them on car 1 so you have a useful car? Since I usually find loads of crap cars I would love to see this implemented. Since you might have problems that people strip their own vehicles so they cannot be stolen one should only be able to strip useful parts if at least 1 other part is red or not functioning at all. So if you find a perfect Helicopter you shouldnt be able to remove the Main rotor part. Thanks for your consideration! Azziax

The vehicle camera system as it is now is flawed in regards to realism. I say this with the note that I understand it is very difficult to simulate the human ocular angle of view when working with a small rectangular crop (computer screen) , but as it sits now: it is not optimum for realism. Current options 1. In car / cockpit view. This only gives such a small view angle and does correspond in any way to real life experience my means of angle of view. Driving a simple car feels like looking though a WW1 tank porthole. It may be a literal representation in the way that you can see your hands and instruments but in reality your eyes do not focus on those things, but rather interprets the whole scene in terms of spacial elements. 2. Third person: This feel like pushing a toy car though a lego land. Also you can see 360 degrees from a higher angle giving an unrealistic omni presence. It really takes away from the realism. The Best option is to have a forced Nose cam, or windshield cam (so you can see some of the hood) I know you give up a little realism by way of seeing in car controls but it gives a better / more realistic field of view. With the option of looking around a bit but not directly behind (especially if in a helicopter) For examples see the different camera options on any modern car racing game.

Hello, I am Col Brown and I lead the 8th Infantry Division tactical military DayZ clan. We have just opened our private hive and would love for you to come be part of the growing playerbase. Why choose our hive over others? -125 vehicles as it should be. No car around every corner, if you have a car it is an achievment and you can be proud. -Cars spawn in various states of damage. No handouts here. -3 helis. That's right, only 3 helis exist at any one point in time (or 2 helis and a biplane). Just like the good ol' days. -Weekly resets (Why does this matter? See below.) -12 hour restarts -No admin abuse. Admin panel access is extremely restricted. -Clans welcome. -Coastal medic mobile (providing vehicle availability) -Chopper/biplane taxi service (providing vehicle availability) -Minimal starting gear. A bandage, flashlight, painkillers, and small bag. Why weekly resets? For one we have weekly events and server wipes prevent cheating. Secondly, this mixes things up. No clan (including 8Inf) can dominate the server and lock other groups out. Everyone gears, moves north, and establishes dominance together. It also prevents vehicle or weapon hoarding and allows new players to put their foot in the door, rather than old players maintaining dominance. We are more than happy to welcome other clans (hero, bandit and survivor alike) as well as lone wolves or new players and all play styles, although we do not approve of unarmed bambi killers, deathmatchers, or coast snipers. I was thinking it would be cool if when a player repairs a vehicle it would be locked and only he can use it (or players in his team, if team features would be added), and other players would need X item in order to steal it. Something like, the player who repaired the vehicles has the keys, and other players can get the vehicle only if they have a toolbox to hotwire it or something like that. Right know to get a vehicle repaired and working it take a lot of items, so it makes sense that to start a stolen vehicle you would need at least one item like a toolbox.

Greetings, I host a server from HFB and I have the standard package. I upgraded the server to 1.7.5.1 and when I restarted the server all of the deployed tents and vehicles are gone. Needless to say, I have a bunch of unhappy players. I opened a support ticket with HFB, but they indicated that with the standard package, they have no control over the hive. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you, Keith

How about special vehicles such as firetrucks? They could shoot water if someone operates the hose. Note: the water pressure is enough to knock some one off their feet. Several players could ride on different spots such as the ladder,hose operation system, backrails. You could turn on the siren, though it serves no purpose. Cop cars also have sirens and spike strips in the trunk to stop cars. Ambulances have medical supplies and a siren. Sirens just notify every living(or undead) thing where you are. Food trucks have food of course but I understand it would be difficult to see a bandit driving a taco van.car alarms should go off if you attack it

Yes, No, or don't care. I personally don't want the standalone to have more vehicles, like cars, and aircraft.

I just can't figure this out. Using the Dayz.ST control panel is great. Especially for people not familiar with database work. What I started doing is placing vehicles in the map using the control panel map. This is great for general placement but if you want to put something right next to a building or anywhere exactly you're going to have to use the database. So I searched on how to do it. I found you can just spawn a car. Park it in the place you like and then get out and search the database to find it's exact worldspace coordinate. I just can't figure out how to get it working.. So my questions are..... Where in the database do I find a car that I have parked to get its worldspace coordinates? Where in the database do I place these coordinates to make the car spawn in the exact place I want? Thanks in advance?
