    Military Spawns are Absurd

    Although this guy's math is probably spot on, the main problem is the vast amount of duplication and recirculation of higher grade military equipment. Temporary solution: Find a quality private hive and make it your home. Just playing a couple of hours on numerous standard hive servers, you would encounter numerous duped items i.e. Rangefinder, M240. Most of which was simply looted off another players corpse who looted it from another player's corpse etc. etc. The gear is seldom left alone or destroyed so it just becomes rampant in circulation. Main reason I suggest a private hive first(aside from the obvious performance/control/security advantages), but it slices that circulation rate considerably, and players are given the opportunity to farm it for themselves on a relatively even playing field. For instance, I play on Rinaun's server circuit(HIGHLY RECOMMENDED). This guy has multiple unbiased admins as well as himself to monitor any abuse/combat logging/spawning/ghosting/scripting, you name it. Cycling out both barracks early this morning and some time this afternoon I came across Rangefinders, NVGs, an M240, Mk 48, among other valuable items, some of which I never even knew spawned in the barracks, such as NVGs. It just takes time and patience, because i certainly ransacked through A LOT of garbage to find those items. RNG is rng, that's what it is, but the rewards are grand for those with patience, strategy AND a good environment to execute both. We could use more people on this Hive, come join us. over 80+ active vehicles and rivalrys/alliances forming left and right facilitated by a hosted teamspeak server. Sorry for the quasi hijack, but this is about the best temporary solution I can find for your current dilemmas with spawn rates and their proportional value weight to you as a player.

    I agree to an extent (I know it is funny after reading the last posts), I only care when people try to defend the action. If you are going to be a pussy at least do not admit to being a pussy on the forums. The only part I disagree with is where you say we are telling someone how to play the game, well if calling people out for cheating is all of a sudden "telling them how to play" then I have no idea how they hell we should act. It will never be fixed and when it happens to me I just move on to avoid ghosting. I never come on the forum just to single someone out, and to be 100% honest I only read the thread to see the rage (that I then participated in). I just hate people defending the use of blatant cheating though, I could care less if you do it but have the decency to at least feel shame.

    Ha ha Ecstasy. Found out and whinging like a newborn cos you and your mates lost all your hacked gear. I need to ask. This fire fight took place in stary. So you boys were massacred. Respawned on the beach. Geared up for another fire fight and hoofed it back to stary. You are either the luckiest dudes on the servers when it comes to weapon spawns or Denmark definitely has a slight pong to its rotten corpse. You see, I do this exact thing every death and it can take three hours before I see stary and I'm lucky to have the Winchester and a 1911. I am gonna jump to a conclusion that there may have been some server hopping, ghosting and tent duping going on here. Is your conscience clear ecstasy?

I am a fairly decent sniper, understanding mildots / ranging. I enjoyed using the M16A4 Acog as well. Humanity(bandit/survivor/hero): Last i checked my Humanity was at 4275. But thats just cause i have some friends that like to break thier legs..... so im flexible I am a decent pilot with experience flying in game. Also as far as orienteering... i dont get lost. Basically looking to Expand my in game experience with groups goals and something resembling Structure and Purpose.

Dayz is all about interaction between players. It's important that communication is quick, clear and easy as death occurs so fast. 1: Whisper, Talk, Shout. Different ranges and audibility to both players and zombies. Also a whistle or some-such. 2: Improved hand signals for silent communication. 3: Walky talkies and radios for long range communication. http://dayzmod.com/f...walkie-talkies/ 3.5: (controversial) Find a way of either stopping 3rd party voice or making it transmit an audible (non specific "talking") noise in game. To encourage use of direct chat over 3rd party chat. And at least give those people that still use it the penalty of giving away their position in game. A great idea that will add a valuable humanising element. 5: Notes. Placeable notes. Being able to interact with players in this way is important I think. Limits will be needed of course. 6: Better hunting. Animals that are harder to hunt, they spook and run etc. Also I'd like to see Z's kill nearby animals, providing that feeling of a ravaged eco system and creating another unpredictable element to their behaviour. Combined with the zombie modifications below would create unpredictable zombie encounters. ie Wandering through the woods, a deer runs past followed by some zeds, then they spot you... Gear and loot etc: 7: A more involved crafting system. Makeshift weapons etc. Possibly more interesting cooking. 8:Far less high end military gear. I believe the CZ550 should be the top of the food chain for all but a very very lucky few. There should be less ammo and weapons in general , giving more of a scrabbling for survival feel. And tied in with the crafting system so you can always make SOMETHING to defend yourself with. The nightime / light mechanic is very rewarding. 9: Less predictable loot locations. Maybe a searching system so that you have to search more carefully to find goodies. 10: repairable generators etc. i don't agree with everything in this thread but there is some good discussion:http://dayzmod.com/f...enerators-v-33/ . I also know generators are in the game with an eye to being used so expect some of this stuff anyway. 11: Padlocks: Allows players to lock any door , blocking zombies. but players can break padlock with any weapon. Alolows players to hold up in a building against zombies for a while but not block players permanently. 12: Camo netting. To help hide vehicles. It's been suggested many times. 13: non lethal weapons. For instance tranq darts. To balance , bolt action, slow firing. !st hit slows player and blurs vision. 2nd shot slows more until they pass out. Epi pen neutralises effects. Environment: 15: This ground mist is amazing, would be greatif this cropped up occasionally, http://dayzmod.com/f...136-heavy-mist/ . More atmosphere and horror in general. Zombies: 16: Zombies more curious about long range noises. For instance an explosion in the distance would make many of them shamble that way. Not agroed as such just curious. 17: Zombies not giving up so easily. It's currently to easy to lose zombies, and it is immersion breaking that they suddenly stop and give up straight away. A "searching" period after they lose a player would be nice. 18: Zombies spawning much further from the player, giving the feel that they are always there, and making them more dangerous , especially when combined with No: 16. Up the FOV a bit, and remove peripheral dots. 20: Server hopping: It's really nice to be able to change servers at will. And the flow of new people coming through a server keeps it alive in many ways. But I wonder if ghosting can ever really be fixed ? Do the pros outweigh the cons ? I'm not sure on this one but wonder if there should be a delay before you can go back to a previous server. Or possibly even being locked to one server ? 21: Linked maps to create a bigger playing area. http://dayzmod.com/f...linked-servers/ Achievable with current technology and doesnt have choke points. 22: Characters linked to timezones. So people can never TOTALLY avoid night-time play.http://dayzmod.com/f...synced-to-time/ Either this or possibly speeding up the day night cycle a little bit. Something to encourage nightime play as it is much more immersive. 23: Player customisation. More costumes and more mix and match, this allows groups to make a "uniform" for visual identification. This should include camo gear options etc, but Ghillie suits need to go, they currently overwrite bandit / hero skins etc and are too ... standard.

    I agree that it will be a big change to the gameplay, but I still think the ghosting is more of a problem. It doesn't matter if the person legit worked for hours to find an AS50, NVGs, and a ghillie or if he just spawned it in, I can still sit at the top of dobry and server hop until I spawn in behind a sniper and take all his gear. I think if there were suddenly less scripted/duped gear, you'd almost no sniping as a result, because no one would risk their gear to a server hopper.

    what reasons do you have this time to ban me and my friends? i know it says ghosting which you cannot be banned for without solid proof. if what you guys think was me ghosting is what i have of you guys restarting the server after i blew up your base solid proof which could have your sever taken down? i know both were accidental except you guys are punishing me and my friends while your guys just go on about you day

Just need to correct one thing: ghosting (the act of switching servers to find a better spot to kill someone) is exploiting a game mechanic and I'm almost certain has been deemed cheating by rocket himself. Yes I agree DMR is far harder to use, learned that last night. Only issue I have with it is it gives people the chance to ALT-F4, which pisses me off to no end, so for now I'll stick with the AS50 to avoid problems with combat loggers.

  14. In the case of the person complaining the most having a dark secret, Colten wins. He has been issued multiple server bans, under multiple GUID's (do you really need more than one....?) for confirmed ghosting and invisible hacking on his former clans server. We would have gladly accepted him turning bandit on a legit basis, but sadly it came to exploits. We welcome the challenge of bandits and anti-social survivors, but we have no tolerance for hackers.

    I think this is how they fixed ghosting, you log on to another server aside from the one you were on within a certain amount of time(say 5mins) you get sent back to the coast. I think it was to stop players from logging off when being shot at, going to another server to bandage then move behind where the enemy was, then log back on to the first server(magically behind their enemy).

    Why are some servers allowed to cheat?

    You can't even restart the server if a hacking takes place and you lose your vehicles. This was recently added to server rules somewhere. Your reasons for restarting the server is very, very small. 11. As a server admin you must not: You are not permitted to ban players for killing yourself or clan members. You are not permitted to shutdown your server when your killed. You are not permitted to shutdown your server when you lose a vehicle. You are not permitted to kick or ban for smacktalk. You are not permitted to ban for suspected cheats or exploits of a non-server-disruptive nature, including but not limited to ghosting, unverified cheating, duping and similar, UNLESS you have solid evidence, IE logs.

    Since the mod seems to pretty much beyond repair imho. I've decided to rejig my suggestions list into a standalone suggestions list and remove discussion about the mod and bugs. But I feel strongly that Dayz is at it's best when immersion is at a maximum. I also know that there are elements of Dayz that really enhance the game but people avoid them because they put you at a disadvantage. Everything possible should be done to maximise the massive gameplay possibilities that Dayz has to offer, but that so many people never experience because they are given other options. The perma death mechanic is incredibly harsh but its what makes Dayz so compelling, there are other mechanics just as exciting in Dayz but they get overlooked. Im not discussing some issues such as Alt-f4, duping etc as I believe standalone will resolve them anyway.

    It astonishes me. This is an Alpha piece of software. ie in the very earliest part of development. Yet there are players out there that cannot get by without hacking, cheating, scripting, ghosting, duping, alt-f4ing. Seriously. Why?

    Current home is a private hive server. This may change but for now it's what we are doing to combat the battle-logging, server hopping and ghosting. Our group is small and tight. We remove inactive (without reason) and casual players to keep it this way. Requirements: Age 21 + Teamspeak Client (it's free) Mic and headset Ability to listen to instruction and work as a unit. Take the game seriously. This is how we have "fun". Regular player - 20 + hours per week. Pm me if interested.

You fellas are making the extraordinary claims, therefore the onus is on you to provide the extraordinary evidence, which we will never see, because I never hacked. :) Banned for "ghosting"? Come on.   24. IT's A TRAP ! (sorry could not resist). Ghosting usually mean having another player on the server with you in teamspeak and giving you location / direction of enemy while they are in spec mode. Something you cannot do in DayZ, they might be referring to alt-f4 / disconnect / reconnect to gain advantage type behaviour.
  25. I was banned from Seattle 123 for "ghosting". :-\ I don't recall doing any such thing. They also said that it was my "second account", which is simply not true. My name is Admiral Ackbar on the server.
