I have a suggestion to add on actually, rather than having zombies 'pursue' for 10 seconds for when they hear a noise, they walk/run to the point of origin. As an example, Survivor is behind a wall with a gate nearby with a zombie loitering on the other side of the wall. Survivor breaks out into a run and heads into the house, 'stepping on a twig' near the gate. The zombie turns and walks into the yard, finds nothing and goes back to loitering but stays in the yard within eyesight of the door. Survivor sees the zombie through a window as hes looting the house but is unarmed, so he goes to the door and throws a empty can/bottle out the door and over the wall, hitting a wall across the street, drawing the zombie away, allowing the survivor to sneak/run out. Another Example, Survivor in a UAZ is being chased by bandits on dirtbikes, Survivor speeds into Cherno and gets out of his UAZ without turning off the engine and runs for cover in a building. Bandits stop outside town and park their vehicles in the bush and pursue on foot. All zombies in hearing range of the UAZ are walking to it and staying nearby because of the engine noise and the bandits try thinning out the crowd with silenced weapons to try and get the UAZ. Survivor sneaks up behind the bandits and fires at them, shooting them in the legs with a Lee before running off for one of their bikes while the crippled bandits are being swarmed by zombies from his UAZ and zombies within earshot of his Lee. Yet another example/suggestion: Weapons have 2 different audible ranges, say the 1911 has an audible range of 100m (just for simplicity and the example) Player fires off a few rounds and all zombies within 25m or 50m start running towards his position while all other zombies within 100m start walking to his position.

Hello everyone, I have create a new server and I need alot more people to join. As it is a new server there is hardly no one on the server, yet I am a hard working Admin and have been working on my server for a while now. The things my server includes is: Teamspeak BEC - Battleye Extended Controls Battleye: On Regular messages on server restarts and events. Event such as... eg. Gun shop in church etc Custom-Loadout - (Can be changed) Server restarts from: 12:00 - 2:00 - 4:00 - 6:00 etc Custom bases in very cool detail - (With high loot value) Active Admin Groups Map Chernarus Private Hive - (Only down side) If we can get atleast ten people on my server this would be amazing and would be truly appreated! I could even edit the custom-loot table also if request by alot of players. I REALLY want some PvP action!! As I read this, I could hear your whiny ass voice in my head and it makes me remember very clearly why i booted you of my squad. Yes, I'm 36. And I whisper because I have sleeping children in the next room. I have to play at night when they are sleeping because during the day. When i read your post, I thought for a second that maybe you might be telling the truth. That Master and Triple OG had left the rest of the meese completely in the dark. But being that you are all close friends who grew up in the same town, and have gamed with each other for years, I simply can't believe they didn't fill you in. I'm going to go ahead and correct something you stated above. After my confession to Master, I did ask Master what he was using. He did not respond like you stated. In fact, I suppose the evidence that I had presented was so indisputable that he barely hesitated when he admitted his and Triple OG's use of the engined based ESP from cheatautomation. He admitted freely that your hacks could see vehicles, people, zeds, crash sites, and loot. Although he only mentioned Triple OG and himself, he used the words "WE" a lot. WE started using it 2-3 weeks ago. WE only did it because WE suspected other hackers on the server. WE, WE, WE. I surmised that even if you and the others had not actually installed the hacks on your computer, you were essentially still using it, albeit it was 2nd hand through your friends. You benefited by getting kills, stealing vehicles, raiding tents, etc. There is absolutely no way to just ban a couple of you. You are all tainted. Oh and it sounds like your dumbass when you believed Master when he told he he didn't admit anything to me. Go look him in his eyes and ask him. If you aren't as dumb as Antman, you'll know the truth. To my fellow Wireworlders, yes it is true, I got a global ban and the meese did not. There is a reason for that. I was using a bypass and I was injecting scripts. My product was from Virtual Advantage. BE detected it and I received a global ban. The meese are using something completely different. They bought there hack from cheatautomation. It doesn't inject scripts and at present, it has been successful avoiding BE detection. However, it is just a matter of time. They've been down ever since the BE update a couple of days ago trying to make their latest adjustment. If you are even tinkering with the idea of doing it, I'll tell you after my experiences that it simply isn't worth it. Look Meese. Be on your way. Your last posts out make you look pathetic. You are leaving like the crying, pitiful souls who came in. You got pwned when you first got here. And you got pwned on your way out. When I heard Papa got three of you at once last night, I was very pleased. To the rest of the Wireworld server, feel free to hit me up anytime on the server if you'd like to discuss my one day hacking adventure. I can guarantee you that after you talk to me, you will walk away with zero doubt that it all turned out for the best. Bottom line, a clan of exploiters is out and we have our server back. -
Reinforcements is British Armed Forces and Private Military Contractor right? I think both of thous slightly add better resolution to character models and a couple vehicles. But not needed for DayZ

For crying out loud... That's like saying DayZ is forcing a certain playstyle on people because there are zombies in the game. If you got killed by zombies (be it glitch or no glitch) you wouldn't rage on sidechat too much about it. You know it was your fault, you accept it and you learn from it right? Why can't players come to realize that there are more threats in the game besides zombies? How come a zombie gets away with murder that easily but a player doesn't? I will give you this much though. I too wish there was less KoS, especially on unarmed players. I wish there where more players who sought battles, who would punish me and everybody else for killing an unarmed player as their mission. But that's not going to happen and for one solid reason (IMHO) and that is most players just don't want to do PvP against other well armed players because it's a "risk" to them. Another side reason (as i have touched on many times) is that most players just don't know how to PvP to begin with and it doesn't matter if they have a makarov or an AS50 or even a helicopter... They will not become good at PvP if all they do all day long is hang out in the middle of nowhere on empty servers playing the farm gear and vehicles game. Plain and simple then, the prominent reason you get KoS with no gear is because you are too god damn bad to be allowed to live on. And most of these people that I have let go i have never seen again because they spend every minute of every day out in the middle of nowhere collecting gear and setting up tents and take up server bandwidth and performance playing farming simulator in DayZ. You know as well as i do that when the community starts making no-PvP servers they will be filled with players who are too damn lazy to learn from their mistakes and then there will be more servers like this to allow more of these carebears to fit on them. And the other servers will become less populated as a result so now more players who are indifferent to the PvP aspects of DayZ will join the now full servers just to have other players around. Finally the community have succeeded in killing DayZ as most players get bored and move on. Especially those that complained the most about KoS.

This is an extremely good server. It is 24/7 daylight with custom loot and extra vehicles. It has extremely fair, helpful and active admins. It has a good balance of heroes and bandits who have epic battles all over the map, not just at the cities. The bandits are very good, they are relentless and very skilful in tracking and combat. The heroes are the same and are very helpful to new players and players who have been murdered (helping them get started or get their stuff back). It's just a really good server. He blew up half of the airfield, and don't forget about all the vehicles he teleported. If you want to play without scripters , all you need is a good server, I play on UK 172 for 2 weeks haven't seen one hacker even when there are 40 people on the server, and one day someone tried to nuke the server, but failed becasue it have good anti hack protection.

Just curious We managed to get this to work (thx for the help from tunngle) without having our pubbers downloading any files. As for weapons, there's some were able to add, and some we cannot, here's what we changed. AS50 [replaced with] Mk12 SPR M107 [replaced with] M8 Sharpshooter SVD [replaced with] Sa58v RCO DMR [replaced with] AK 107 PSO Mk48 Mod 0 [replaced with] MG36 M240 [replaced with] RPK 74 FN FAL NVG [replaced with] AKS 74 PSO AKS 74U [replaced with] L85A2 Halo M9 [replaced with] Sa61 Scorpian These ones we replaced fully work in game and spawn @ Barracks and Crash Chopper. We are wondering why some guns work, but some weapons we added don't show up, example why does the L85 Halo work but something like the L85 LSW or RGO or whatever does not, or any other M8 CQC gun or variant. PDW SD didn't work either yet I remember killing a hacker long time ago in DayZ and taking it, and being able to use it for a long while. This applies to the Makarov SD. Any ideas on how we can get these other weapons added? Also applies to some vehicles. -

Hey all! Come join us on an amazing private hive. I'm looking to help out new survivors and even teach people the ropes of dayz a bit. The server I play on is run by DIS gaming and it's really great. Whitelisting may or may not be active depending on the time you try to get on but I can assure you just email the admin and he'll have you set up in minutes. I've been playing with these people for a couple months. There is PVP if you like that. There are bandits to keep things exciting. There are a lot of choppers and tons of vehicles. Be prepared to scavenge because most vehicles need a little work. Also, the map has been customized a bit so there are a few extra buildings. I won't tell you where as half the fun is rediscovering Chernarus all over again. All I can say is, there was a lot of thought put into the custom buildings and its not overkill. In fact, they've added a lot of rewarding locations specifically with foot travel in mind, so I would say the site is definitely new player friendly. I've been trying to play a medic / trainer of sorts and it's been a blast. Right now, I think we need more lone wolf style players but whatever works. Bring your friends. Also, check out the server site at disgamingdayz.enjin.com We just had our first community night that included a Hatchet Death Match Tourney at Pobeda Damn and a Triatholon. The admins set up a beautiful and intense race starting at NE airfield on motorcycles, hopping in trucks at Berezino, PBX at Krustoy Cap, and topping it off with a foot race to the peak of Skalisty Island. I came in third!! Anyway, the information for the server is below. I hope to see you all there!! The admins are very active so don't hesitate to ask for help or advice. So I've set up a Localhost DayZ server, with the intention of developing a few tools designed to improve the 'Wireworld experience'. These would be for Mac & admins to utilise rather than exploitation... you'll be happy to hear. I've already started putting together a few ideas but I thought I'd put it out there as to what the community are after from this server. If anyone has any thoughts, hopefully if they're possible & popular and Mac likes them they can be implemented. I've already begun work on a few ideas I had: - Custom skins (working) Purpose: Variety - I can't be the only one tired of being either civ/bandit/ghillie/camo or one of those target practice heros. Only issue is that as a consequence, the humanity system and clothing (Civ/Hero/Bandit) is rendered useless. I've written a quick Rnd function to spawn new players in a 'randomly' selected skin following death. I personally like it but not sure whether Mac & admins are willing to remove this more functional part of the game for aesthetics.. - Custom load screen (designed but not yet implemented/tested) Purpose: Helpful to provide community updates and obviously to look fancy. - Teleportation tool & pathing/location map (work in progress) Purpose:To be used for event nights and to provide additional insight into player trends. Almost complete (having to make my own map as there isn't one online that doesn't cut off the north of the map!). Not sure what load this would put on the server, I'd imagine it'd equate to having an additional player on at all times. Working on showing 'offline' players also, could be a clutter depending on the amount though, may put a last log in date parameter in this to limit clutter. - Item/Vehicle spawner (working) Purpose: To be use for event nights Putting together a DB of items now which is a pain in the balls. - Also looking into seeing what guns/vehicles I can unlock too. ~Chris -
I'm also looking for groups that are casual and play for survival aspect of the game. I just like raiding towns and fixing vehicles my skype "nicspov" Im in the process of repairing 4 (yes FOUR) UAV jeeps I found, so would love a hand :)

Yes it is my opinion that if the community didn't voice their concerns that yes, this was a slippery slope we were headed down where the next update would remove all vehicles and instead have us all riding on Unicorns(joking). I haven't been logged into dayzmod since August but felt the need to drop my two cents in because I didn't approve. Should people bend over backwards for me? Nope, but all I did was drop in to voice my concerns and hey, tons of others have too and it worked. Bravo consumers, we got what we wanted. No stupid herpy dooves canned muffins crap. Thanks Rocket, can't wait until the standalone and hope you blood pressure is doing better lol.

Your argument should be based around what is more fun, not what's more real, because ultimately that's what matters, and frankly there's a lot of people who find the game more enjoyable if they have the option of both first person and third person available in vehicles, depending on what situation they're trying to take-in and navigate. If it's that big of deal to you, the proper solution would be to request that the devs put a vehicle-first-person-only switch as an option for server operators, and then everyone who thinks first person is better but can't trust themself not to sometimes use third person, plus everyone who can't stand the thought that someone in a different vehicle is playing the game differently can all go play on servers with the restriction switch enabled.

I think I'll just quote the relevant passage from this recent interview with Rocket: "Are you baking more social dynamics and mechanics into the game, or are you happy to leave those interactions up to the players? [...] We’re looking at ideas, and we haven’t actually implemented these yet, but we’re looking at how we could have it so that some skills, maybe, are socially learned or enhanced. Maybe very advanced skills, like being a doctor, the ability to do very specific things like suturing, might be earned those ways. We’re looking at how we could have it so that some skills, maybe, are socially learned or enhanced…like being a doctor We’re still undecided about that, because we really want to have the game avoid things like specific skill trees and stuff like that. But having it socially developed as a skill, or something you get better at through repeated use, and more of those options for social interaction like suturing, setting fractures, these kinds of things are social options. The best example we have at the moment are blood transfusions, which seem to be well-received as a reason to socially interact. Absolutely, but I don’t want to get people’s hopes up about a skill system or skill tree, so we’re more looking at how players develop the abilities to do certain things, and how players develop the ability to get better at doing things. To provide a tangible example of something we know we want the player to do – we don’t want the player to start the game and choose how their character is going to be. That will actually come out as they play the game. An example would be wanting your character to wear a cowboy hat, camouflage jacket and black pants. You’re going to have to find those items in the world. Your humanity, and these kinds of things, will affect how you look. The way you play the game will affect your player. As we explore what the player can do, that is something we’re interested in, but it’s going to require a lot of experimentation. We don’t want the player to start the game and choose how their character is going to be A couple of examples we thought of were very advanced skills, such as advanced repair of aircraft and vehicles. That’s not a skill that everybody has. And various doctor-related skills. They aren’t things that everybody just has; they’re things that maybe people can learn, but they’ll require practice and maybe some social interaction." -
I am curious if anyone else experienced the supposed hive issue last night that deleted any and every thing that held an as50 including tents and vehicles. This is the explanation i was given and thought the timing was rather odd as i had literally taken the AS50's from the host clans camp the night before this bug hit yet i can't find a reference to this hive wide bug anywhere. Any feedback either way would be nice, and if this happened to anyone else last night please speak up.
