    We can help you arm up & play DayZ " learn the ropes", we would like to have you on our team. We are currently playing on Server US 310 Dallas. The server currently has 400 vehicles, you spawn with with some good basic gear. Its the best server I've played in for the past 9 months. It is currently whitelisted, but it is open to all sometimes. If it is whitelisted when you log in, it will give you information on how to apply. Most of the time it is instant approval. Or you can reach me (Snoopy or anybody else on ) at ts101.light-speed.com:4888 Just introduce yourself & I or anybody else on the Ts can ask the admin to add your name to the server. We would just need your Dayz gaming name. We have had the minimum amount of hacking compared to all the other servers, I have played in. the Admin Calmdown takes good care of the server, if we get hacked he just kicks out the hacker & gives you back the gear you lost.

  3. I can understand why people like the ability to survive improbable injuries, but to me it goes against the authenticity that most of DayZ manages to capture quite well. Kryah made probably the most important point, but it kinda faded into the background. <_< We've had discussions along those lines before, and from what I can see, the only way to allow the game to calculate weapon rarity per-server would be to lock characters into 1 "home" server. Otherwise, no-matter what you try and balance it with, server-migration will fuck up loot-balance. Personally, I'd welcome the idea. Players are going to have to settle down at some point if the end-game is "vehicles and bases". No harm in seeing if it works before the full end-game is implemented. It's pretty much like this when you play unique private hives, and IMO, as well as allowing some control over loot-cycle%, it would be better for familiarity and player reputations. (good OR bad)

Me and my friend currently are renting a 40 slot server and we're having some trouble using DayZ CP (seeing as its still in beta) and for some reason upon logging into the server i get stuck in the "debug" location of the map, i have restarted server and refreshed it. We were also wondering if there are alternative control panels to use to monitor the player movement, vehicles, tents ect.
  6. Long story short, me and 3 friends were playing this Chernarus server for a number of hours. We had acquired a UAZ and earlier had killed 2 admins for their top tier gear (both had AS50's with 4 mags, likely spawned in) but that wasn't what earned us the ban. We were driving around in the woods a round NEAF with the intent of looking for hidden vehicles or tents. after about 20 minutes of snooping about, we find a small grouping of tents that have some random items in them, nothing of high value. Then all of a sudden all four of us were banned - admin ban - maphacks. apparently we had found the admins' camp, but we never saw a player. So how did they know we were there? Abuse of powers most likely, as well as being a BADMIN.
  7. Agreed with OP, this issue doesn't recieve anywhere near enough attention. Admin abuse is not just about unfair banning although that is a real problem, but also abuse of access to logs that enable admins to locate players, vehicles and camps. It is a form of legalized hacking that need to be made impossible with the SA

Our server has been up for around 1-2 months and had a good playerbase after a while they slowly left our server and we realised we had nothing special to offer, so we decided to add some new cars and weapons and some of them came back but we are looking to open a Namalsk server also... We have active admins and stop all/most of the hackers on the server. We have custom buildings and weapons. We are a Private Hive.   9. For my server, I don't even go on it much. I just stay on DART and ban/kick when I need to. I see where everybody is, and see if anybody is spawning with legit or non-legit gear, or spawning in vehicles. Caught two of those skiddies yesterday.

    Will do, think it's to do with zeds hitting vehicles actually. The scripts.txt log file is nearly 1GB in size, slight problem there.

It's a double edged sword at the moment, on one hand people go nuts when hackers ruin the game and on the other people go nuts when admins have the power to spot teleporters, hacked in vehicles, check inventories, restore items players have lost etc. I'd guess that there are a higher number of hackers wrecking games than shitty admins abusing the tools they have, hopefully some sort of word of mouth darwinism will make the shitty admined servers lose players and the honest admined servers rise to the top. The SA will do away with the vast majority of the hacking and should do away with the need for admins to have such far reaching tools i'd imagine.

Hi, there are some suggestions for the vehicles in S.A.: *** Make the vehicles fun to drive! *** In Dayz Mod when you go offroad is when the fun should start: vehicle bouncing and loosing grip, skidding, etc, instead we have a boring speed reduction who takes all the fun away. I think physics is the more important part that should be improved in vehicles. *** Wheels damage*** Another thing that takes the fun away is when u get a flat tire, the car suddendly stops and u can't drive further; a car needs much more than a flat tire for being unable to move: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHhQpcyXssw It would be nice if wheels would have at least three types of damage: flat tire, flat tire without the rubber (wheel rim) making sparks while driving and completly destroyed wheel (wheel won't turn). Each damage wheel would result in a different car behaviour: (affecting grip, power, maneuverability, etc) ***Vehicle/Player Damage*** Vehicle damage in Dayz Mod is very realistic keep it please :D maybe some car body visual damages would be nice, removing exploding vehicles would be good too as the vehicles are designed to not explode, maybe a little probability of fire after an accident that will grow until the car explodes. -While driving, the ability to remove the windshield when broken: maybe with a kick/shot from inside. -Seabelts: it would take like 2 seconds to put on your seabelt and 1 sec for removing it, or something like that. It would reduce a lot the physical damage taken on collision. -Run over Infected / players with your car at high speeds should damage your car/windscreen. -As suggested on onther threads a a driver dead body should remain at the car until removed. People inside the car should be able to push out the car a dead driver whithout abandon the car. *** Vehicle controls *** Good Controller support. Progressive controls: like incremental throttle in Red Orchestra for speed at least. Gears: maybe having the option of automatic shifting also for non controller users. Cluth would be good for controller users too. Hand Brake progressive too if possible. *** Vehicle sounds *** Skids sounds Being able to open close windows will cause you to hear more or less the engine/exterior of the car. *** Fuel *** Being able to take fuel from a car using plastic tubes.
  13. apparently in standalone so i was told admins cant abuse alot of stuff which would be welcomed how many times do you go on a server and the admins group just happens to have all best gear everytime ;) need blood cant get any oh lets just give myself blood, need to know where your enemy is with your loot oh lets check the logs , oh no helis oh lets just respawn somemore and go to location when i restart for other reasons :lol: seen it every day on many servers. oh i just found it afte restart (yes like you do after every restart ! haha ) why its like this is beyond me and very stupid. its blatent aswell. its not even well hidden this is why i never hide stuff in any tents or vehicles cause it takes a minute to check where all good stuff is and its gone. just hope all this stuff is locked away for standalone like i was told then we can have a fair playing field like itssupposed to be instead of admins just saying hmmm ill spawn myself that and have this gun and find that player :rolleyes:
  14. Hi there, I currently admin a server from vert hosting some hacker douche has spawned a bunch of ships around the NWAF and I'm not exactly sure how to get rid of them. help? :( edit: the ships are like buildings, not vehicles.

    didnt see so i just ask, loot spawning correctly when in vehicles now as well? or do i still need to leave 100 m before entering a building otherwise its just empty and no loot.
  16. Just to update on this topic. I was finally able to fix up not just one, but a grand total of two vehicles! The Toyota truck and the Land Rover. I had failed again on the motorbike wheel repair, but I jumped back on today and attempted to fix up a few other cars. Now, it might just have been me being a noob, but I made sure to enter the vehicle first (enter backseat, move to front seat, move to back seat, gear) and I was able to repair without issue. It could have also been because I would regularly disconnect from the server and not enter the vehicle again before trying to repair (I'm a disgusting smoker, and after being murdered whilst AFK, I decided to start logging out when I needed my fix). As it stands, it all works now as long as I follow the routine above. Thanks to those who helped. :)
  17. I am running Lingor Island on my server. Which vehicles can I add to the map when I add a spawn point? Is it the vehicles under "All Maps" only? Can I also add vehicles from Chernarus, DayZ, Celle, etc?

    Light Armored Tank

    I for one agree, main battle tanks and light tanks as scenery should be used as wrecks to loot. Scrap metal, possibly even ammunition or weapons. I'm sure if you found a tank you could dismantle the M2 Machine Gun and mount it onto a Pickup truck or take a few shells for the main gun and construct some crude IED's. I for one would go for the wheeled vehicles like the US Humvee and Russian Vodnik. I could see the Humvee being equipped with and without a machine gun, some closed and some open. Vodniks being amphibious could have no guns or a single PK machine gun. The other possibility for an armored military vehicle is the BRDM-2 without its HMG, relying purely on its PK machine Gun for defence. The BRDM-2 is an armoured patrol car previously used during the Soviet Union. Like the Vodnik it too is amphibous however it posses a unique flaw, in order to get out of the vehicle you must exit out of a front hatch, which means exiting out if the vehicle is about to be destroyed would instantly put you into the line of fire. The only tracked vehicle I could suggest would be the american M113 APC which is sometimes also used as an Ambulance as well and frequently used by less developed countries as an APC or Police SWAT Vehicles. It's main armament is a M2 .50 cal and your exposed when your operating it. Plus because of its age, most modern weapons can still defeat it. Alternatively it could also be an unarmed variant, possible used for training or something.

  22. you have to restart the server first. vehicles don't just spawn unless your hacking.
  23. Agreed the LawsOfFire, maybe make them less accurate, and less range. Or as you say add some russian ones instead. Cause i do see how the 1600 meter range of the AS50 is maybe a bit too much for DayZ. But in real life, there has been confirmed kills at 2500 meters with .50 cals. So its not unrealistic. I use .50 cals for vehichles my self. Personally i prefer the M24 for players (not in vehicles).
  24. Hey, I was wondering if anyone has any useful links to guides for modding the dayz code. Ideally I would like to alter looting tables to get a few new weapons in add and edit some vehicle spawns and possibly add towing and airlifting vehicles. Quite new and don't want till screw up the servery files without doing some reading up first. Thanks in advance for any links guides or tips
  25. My thoughts on the suggestions above. 1. Making it so the anti-materiel rifles require a rest or bipod to be accurate would be an authentic, well balanced solution IMO. 2. Apparently zeds spawn entirely differently in SA, so we'll just have to wait and see how log-aggro is handled in future. 3. Destroying vehicles is what anti-materiel rifles are supposed to do. Nerfing damage would be a bad move. 4. Anyone can get killed at any time. Bambi will have to learn to fend for himself.
