Yes, tents and vehicles are tied to that server. The save option was just an old mechanic to save the gear and location of your stuff, but now that save automatically whenever you add/remove gear and enter/leave the vehicle.

Cars and tents save automatically now so there is no need for that option. Also, you can't move them between servers, you can move you character and any carried gear but vehicles and tents are server specific.

BMRF: Chernarus / Namalsk / Active Admins / Automatic Whitelist

Great servers. BMRF has some nice hardware. I never experience any performance issues myself. Regular restarts. And they offer a variety of mods and missions for DayZ and ARMA 2. Great community. Sure, not everyone will always agree. But there's a lot of good players here. Plenty of regulars you'll get to know, in-game and on the forums. The BMRF community make for a pretty good gaming atmosphere and a lot of fun. Great admins and moderators. I've found the admins at BMRF to be fair and hard working. They do their best to keep cheaters and exploiters off the servers, keep the side chat clean, and listen to the community. They take polls and feedback into consideration, and try to provide enjoyable servers for everyone. They offer donor perks for those willing to help with server costs, but keep the perks fair. They support some server mods such as JSRS and ACE sound mods, and stmovement. They provide custom buildings, vehicles, and loot tables, but do so in a way that makes sense, and without dumbing the game down and/or making it easy. And they provide support in-game, through IRC, and through the forums. So if you're a DayZ, Wasteland, or Warfare player, you play without cheats, and you're looking for servers full of like-minded players and admins that make up a rewarding gaming atmosphere, I suggest you give BMRF a try. -
About us: Rescue Team was a small community of friends who love to challenge our real life experiences in Combat/Survival games that has grown into a budding online group of players from across the world. We decided to host a “friendly” DayZ server focused less on fighting each other and more on creating an ongoing, unique story based on every player’s actions and interactions. We are looking for: We are looking for players that would act as if they were in an actual zombie apocalypse. Players will be faced with a seemingly unpopulated and ruined world in which they will need to stay alive by scavenging for food and medical supplies, avoiding the shambling dead as well as interacting with fellow survivors. We are not looking for: We are not looking for those who will behave immature or for those who wish to play DayZ as if it was Call of Duty. As such, we hold zero tolerance for players stalking and/or ‘camping’ an area to fire upon others simply for kills, without any form of role-play involved. Though we are ridged with our rules of engagement in regards to PvP encounters, we do not attempt to discourage players from being thieves, bandits, or mercenaries. Players are allowed to open fire if they are threatened by another player. What we offer: A “Green Zone" and Team Bases 50 player slot server. 50+ Vehicle spawns. GMT +10 Third Person, Death Messages, Side Chat and Voice over Net are enabled. Crosshairs, Tracers and Nameplates are disabled. Restarts every six hours Active admin staff monitoring the server Stable server with Tents and Vehicles saving inventories correctly About the “Green Zone” and Team Bases: "Green Zones" is a term we use to designate an area to be a safe zone. Cities flagged as a "Green Zone" are free of PvP activity, but not thievery. Team Bases are designated as protected zones for players who have banded together in an admin approved group. In each team’s base, players who are members can safely place tents, vehicles, and other objects free from the worry that others may steal it while they are offline or out of the base. All new players will have access to a Refugee Camp within the United Nation’s base. The Refugee Camp is a safe place for all newcomers to have tents and vehicles stored in. The Refugee Camp should only be used until you have enough gear to survive by yourself or with your group in the wild. We do not force people to play in “Green Zones” nor to place items in Team Bases or the Refugee Camp, it is up to you if you wish to use these services or not. For any of those unsure if they want to join, I'll vouch for this server. We've been playing on it for a few days now and its been great. Plenty of vehicles, that respawn, runs nice, and the BSB guys are very friendly and helpful. If you want a whitelisted Taviana, pick this one. -
Suggestion: Looting vehicle parts from broken vehicles

Let's say your UAZ crashed and lost three tires, with a toolbox.. you should be able to take the remaining wheel away and keep it in your inventory.. and with an empty Jerry Can.. you should be able to take the fuel from the UAZ to maximize it's use.. rather than just looking for other just to repair your UAZ.. you should have the chance to scavenge it's parts. -
So we get * [NEW] - Zeds now have the ability to damage vehicles. This is limited to glass only once glass is destroyed players within will be damaged. but not * [FIXED] - Helis leak fuel when windows are broken Not a good solution, guys. Fix those helis! Other than that, this update feels like we got nothing we can do, only stuff we must do. Overall, it seems a tad rushed, but not knowing the development process that just might be part of the process, why do QA when you have players who'll cry about issues either way.

You guys looking for a "home" server? You sound like you would fit right in on our Taviana server. We presently have a couple of smaller groups and our own two factions (that fight head to head) based on our server with 400 vehicles. Theres plenty of space for some more new faces though and theres a lot of lone wolves that are still looking for a clan based on our server. A decent new clan would really add a new dimension to the server. Good luck with recruitment too! Details in my signature. -

bringing this fucker back from the dead as its touching on a great idea, after watching the new video blog, all i keep thinking is i need to know more about how they will improve making camps hiding vehicles etc etc. Was thinking being able to bury little caches of food etc if you have the entrenching tool, better wayys to disguise cars ie camo nets, being able to chop ferns to cover cars etc. Main thing i see as the problems is the way the terrain features grass etc draw as you move further away would really like to see this looked into. anybodyelse anything to add suggest, comment / slag this off? **EDIT** Id also like the forest to be thicker, more low level foliage and denser tree cover etc

well small bugs that are now fixed like you couldn't climb a ladder with a pistol. no vehicles or chopper spawns. some choppers were bugged and would kill u. if you saw a bandit you would run or hunt him and you knew he would hunt you if he saw u. if you saw a survivor you would be worried that he wanted to become a bandit but would like him for backup in case you got in a fire fight. there were no melee weapons but its good there is now. you spawned with a macarov and basics. to bandage you would scroll the mouse wheel. when they rocket said "you winged there were not enough zombies so here they are now stop your crying" people were running around constantly trying to stay alive and not attract zombies and they ran out of ammo, so teaming up was a good idea. there were less hackers. many other things have changed now for the better as well like heat packs and antibiotics. but some have changed for the worse. -

Over 8000 views and 240 replies its good to see how we well we have progressed :) Keep update We have now opened a new server using RMOD on dayz where we finally have the ability to use a special airborne tactics group to call in apache gunships where bandit groups have been identified. We also have the capacity to run armed convoys now something we were never able to do before the server's name is back with a new name, new map and new vehicles. IP: 206.190.131.108:3153 MAP: TAVIANA 2.0 THIRD PERSON: ON TRACERS: OFF NAMEPLATES: OFF CROSSHAIRS: ON (later maybe off) DAYLIGHT 24/7: ON DEATH MESSAGES: ON We made the change because we felt that a new map and a new look would allow for a better game and so far it has. Hackers be warned we will be doing 24/7 checks on scripts and map tps if you are identified as a hacker expect a database ban. who here played like nearly a year ago. it was sweet then except the little bugs they have now fixed, like climbing ladders with a pistol and vehicles now fixed and a few other things. PVP was sorted because 80% of the time you know who you coult drust and not trust. but now it seems they are changing it for the worse. -

Hello fellow gamers! Me and a friend recently bought a server, - we are currently running the 1.7(something) taviana, and we noticed other servers are running 2.0? HOW do we update this correctly?? we do have access to ALL files currently, so we should be able to do this very easy, but we just don't know where to find answers to this question. :) also - we are looking for script help. Such as, *Removeable vehicle parts - *changing loot table - *Changing the spawned vehicles. Any help with the following topics would be VERY much appreciated! -
Disconnected while flying in standalone

Simple fix, just make it so you can hop into the pilot seat from other seats in the vehicle like most of the other vehicles in Arma anyway. Most people dont fly alone anyway in my experience, not that ive found a helicopter for months now though. -
Bit late replying i know, but we have a server you may be interested in. Our server is vanilla Chernarus apart from added vehicles. We have 130+ vehicles but they can be quite hard to find. There are 5 helis instead of 1 but we may be removing 1 of these. We did have the custom wrecks in but they haven't been put back in since the upgrade to 1.7.5.1 so we just have the normal stuff at the moment. These may return soon. We are totally against a custom loadout and extra loot so these will never be added. As for extra buildings we will probably never add these (but i have ideas similar, but this will be down to a community vote). You should come try us out, you won't be disappointed :) Our server stays hacker-free with constant admin supervision and our whitelist (using our own custom whitelist app which kicks people off much faster than gotcha). If hackers do strike then we take hourly database backups so we can rollback any damage done. Our regular players stay very pleased with our server and how its managed, check out our forum for some stories of players (http://dayz.frak.eu) I understand if you don't wish to join due to thinking extra vehicles means everybody is cruising around running you over but its not like that at all. Public Hive Hosting, Development, Maintenance, SECURITY moving forward?

Vehicles are stored on the public hive actually, they get grabbed from the hive and cached on the server on server start. When you apply for a hive server they simply run a script which adds the vehicles to the Object_DATA table on the hive with your instance ID. The reason vehicles don't travel between servers is because the object is mapped to its instance ID. If you look at the hive calls the HiveEXT.dll does on connect you will see that it sends the following query: 'SELECT `ObjectID`, `Classname`, `CharacterID`, `Worldspace`, `Inventory`, `Hitpoints`, `Fuel`, `Damage` FROM `object_DATA` WHERE `Instance`=<yourid> AND `Classname` IS NOT NULL' This grab all the objects, both vehicles and tents, from the object database. The server then caches these so it can stream them in and out without raping the hive. Here is a screeny of phpMyAdmin for my hive (which is set up identical to the public hive) http://imgur.com/6JxsCz4 On the public hive those ObjectIDs are in the millions (which caused the vehicles not working on some servers a few months ago). It would be good if vehicles were stored server-side and read from their own DB on launch to reduce the load on the hive server. Afterall, the hive is 1 huge MySQL database, last i looked the player_DATA table was 22GB in size so anything that reduces load on it would be a good idea. The spawn chance doesn't seen to work these days. I cant see any code to handle that so my guess is the 'chance' is a script on the hive-maintainers side which gradually adds vehicles to the db using your instance ID. That's how some private hives do it too so it seems likely the public hive would do it too. Now 1.7.5.1 is out this should help with some 'illegal' objects being published to the public hive anyway since it has a small chunk of script which verifies the object is valid before it will pass it off to the hiveext to do an INSERT query. so no more thunderdomes being saved to the hive! (think they can still spawn but not be persistent) -

This game is moving towards being more annoying than rewarding. The latest patch kind of pushed things past the point where I'm enjoying myself. I'll run through the problems I have with the current experience as it stands with the DayZ mod. Vehicles: These things are incredibly rare and require a great deal to get and keep in working order. In a game where you have permadeath and are required to travel long distances, transportation should be more abundant in order to shorten downtime. They should also be far less fragile. Should you be lucky enough to locate a vehicle and repair it, that sense of accomplishment will quickly fade as you realize how much trouble and attention they require in order for you to enjoy that luxury. Personally, I'm avoiding using them altogether. Zeds: Since the current patch there is little to no hope of having an encounter swing in one's favor. The way the spawn system works and how they swarm now makes it so there is no reason to shoot them. By the time you've killed and dealt with one wave, another has taken its place, has been aggroed and is already at your location before you have a chance to aquire whatever it is you're there to get in the first place. The fact they can knock you out should also be removed. The key to a good game is giving someone a fighting chance, not making them suffer because of some random bullshit. Zombies are already buggy, have the ability to attack/walk/aggro through objects. Implementing the ability for them to swarm was premature and obtuse. If a player is spending more resources than he is receiving in order to deal with any and every encounter, this is problematic. Survival and maintenance: Things are starting to get to be too complicated with respect to achieving an end result. One example of this is the vehicles. They require too much to get working. Simplifying the repair system would allow players to enjoy the rewards of having a vehicle rather than have to spend half of its lifecycle scavenging for parts to maintain it. Another example is the recent process added to having clean water. Does it make sense? Sure. Is it adding to the player's enjoyment? That depends on the player. Personally I don't mind having to do certain things in order to accomplish an end goal but if things become more and more complicated and I'm spending the majority of my time primarily doing chores, this takes the fun out of my experience. As it stands, this game has lost its apeal for me for the reasons I mentioned. -

I think a pretty neat idea would be for the server to send details of your location (like it always does), but it should also include elevation and also whether you was in an air vehicle at the time, so when you reconnect and it recognises that you disconnected whilst flying, you are spawned in the same elevation/location and start floating down with a deployed parachute. I don't think there's going to be many ways to save the vehicles if you disconnect (if you're solo anyway...) -

Havent had any issues after updating our server yesterday (with the installation itself or connecting to the server). We're just missing our vehicles atm (again) and 1 or 2 of our members had the #44 error. Not sure how they fixed it, but I think they went on a different server and connected back to ours... -

I think the game feels alot smoother.. FPS is still a bit "iffy" in my opinion... but it wasnt a major update so it's to be expected... made travelling in vehicles a bit more realistic though. -
1.7.5.1 Upgrade . . . all Tents and Vehicles Missing

Hi, today i noticed that my regular server had updated to the new version and whaddayaknow, camp and vehicles gone. My questions is, do you think this can be fixed globally? Or does the server admin have to do it manually on each server? I ask this because i don't know any admin on my server (main hive) and i'm not sure if it is actively monitored other then the mod and game updates. It is up to a possible fix if i move servers or not. Thanks for any info. -
The mod is dead for me now, appreciate the effort the community devs have made to keep it going. But for me it's getting far beyond realism and what i believe was the essence of the game. To many new weapons added, backpacks slots are a mess. To many new vehicles / choppers unbanned. Zombie spawns are awful now, especially in military areas. Sometimes only see 4 zombies. And the new combat roll should not of been released in it's current state, people are now putting cars in front of buildings and when the roll into the vehicle it magically floats them onto the building. Sorry but it's a mess!

Well done, you took some brave decisions and it payed off. my clanmates and I have been drifting around from Dayz variant to Dayz variant for a few weeks now, some of them are pretty good and origins in particular kept us interested for a while but this patch has got us back into the best version of the best mod ever created. Zombies are now a threat to be taken seriously :thumbsup: Boiling water to make it safe? :thumbsup: New guns and vehicles :thumbsup: Flip back ATV :thumbsup: We love these and all the other changes, they all improve the experience so, thankyou Dayzmod origins Original
