I seem to be getting lots of lag when I'm going over a certain speed,flying for example.I can deal with it as long as I'm not kicked but at the end of the day it's a game.I don't get stressed when I die lol Overall I like the new patch,I do think the zombies attacking vehicles is a pain if you're trying to escape in a helicopter though.They smashed the hell out of my chopper just while the rotors were spinning up. Glass always seems so hard to find. Got plenty of anti-biotics though haha -

"Retrieving data" glitch and "Script Restriction #41"

Having the same problem while fueling vehicles and/ or trying to drive them. Every try ends in getting kicked for either Script Restriction #41 or #40. What is really annoying is, that I die when I log in after beeing kicked sitting inside a vehicle. ArmA2 and DayZ are both running on the latest patch. Can this be a serverside problem? -

Yeah if i want lots of gear and vehicles, ill play the wasteland mod. DayZ is for cherishing every box of matches you find, having 5 rounds left and 3 enemies, and for finding that vehicle spawn 10k out in the dark without waypoints. -

I'm not so convinced of that, mind giving me an example? I'm not claiming the RV engine isn't great, I just wonder where DayZ actually uses it's full potential? - The zed AI is an attempt to dumb down the vanilla AI as much as possible, so a more primitive AI might have done the trick just aswell. Whether you spend your time removing 20 features or adding 5 features.... - The gun and helicopter behavior is absolutely wonderful, no desputes there. Vehicles in their current state however... all steer like a bus, explode easily and the vehicle parts damage system doesn't feel any more "realistic" than that of a less designed-to-be-real engine. - The DayZ features, from starvation to medical needs, could've easily replicated elseway. Fall damage => broken leg. Zombie attack => chance of random status ailment. Zombies don't target body parts specifically. The damage model of RV is only properly used in PvP combat. -

Didn't read the replies. Read the OP. It's like this: You spawn with weapons, find vehicles easier, and get everything easier so you can go out and shoot other players faster. Mystery solved. Servers like that are for PvP, and the CoD kiddies who don't have the required attention span to actually play a survival game. -

First off I never said I wanted everything gifted to you on a plate?????? I said variety is good and I stick to that.And btw our server setup has expert mode, 30 vehicles, bandage,painkillers and torch starting loadout, direct chat only, no 3dp, no ch, no nt on namalsk with bloodsuckers and evr. If you think that's getting stuff gifted to you on a plate here have some :beans: :) -
I completely agree with this complaint. If you're in a fire fight with two guys, they already have an number advantage. But then if you wound one of them, he can get back to full strength immediately using a bloodbag from his mate. Then they injure you and you're as good as dead unless you are carrying 8 cooked beef around all the time. Let's say you're trying to refuel your chopper by running back and forth 25-50 times. You're already at a disadvantage because you have no-one to keep lookout and you're slower too. You take a few zombie swipes whilst refuelling even though you're careful, and now have to hide the chopper and leave it for an hour while you try to catch enough animals to get your health back. Whereas the pair of players, after refuelling their chopper and not caring too much about the zombie hits, will just bloodbag each other and fly off with full health. Say you've just spawned. As a single player the very first thing you need to do is find matches, knife and hatchet, otherwise you'll never be able to recover from any injury. Occasionally it can take over two hours to find the last item in the trio (in my first game of v1751, it took four hours to get matches). If you keep getting injured by zombies during that time, you're better to just suicide and run back to your body. Not so for the pair of players, who just grab some bloodbags and head off to find guns and vehicles. In fact I know pairs and teams who make no effort at all to find knife/matches - they don't need them. In summary: · eating and drinking should be a separate mechanism from blood health. · Everyone should have access to the same blood mechanism, whether single or paired. As long as teams have access to a mechanism that single players can't access, then as far as I'm concerned the game is broken. However, the main dev has said on Github that he thinks animals are easier to use than bloodbags 'because animals spawn in everywhere', and has also said that self-blooding will never happen (even though it's easily possible). So basically this will never get fixed in the mod. I just hope the standalone is not prejudiced against single players.

Audio/Music adjustments; creating an ear-joyable atmosphere.(Standalone)

Hi guys, TIC here once again to bring you guys another great idea. I want to keep this short and to the point this time instead of long paragraphs ;) Do you happen to think the ambiance is a bit redundant? Currently it's cycled through a loop which at first, can give off a great impression but after awhile could ruin the vibe of it's repetitiveness loop. Could we see further improvements on this? Sure! I think this is what I should bring upon your attention.. Sounds that are meshed with the environments and situations that surrounds your character to create the perfect audio atmosphere.Audio cues, such as there being an item nearby, there could be a very quiet pitch tone or when a zombie pops around the corner on your screen, An example will be this; Visiting countrysides, villages, towns, bases or even freshly spawning at the shore of a beach will have their own bland of music mixed as a collaboration that could feature a 'cross-fade' to avoid silent gaps in-between ambient melody.Depending on the intensity of situations, songs will become more aggressive and upbeat(for car chases, pursuits) an example will be this: Example song(Intensity) .. For encountering a bandit or a very large group of zombies; *These examples are my inspirations, feel free to elaborate on other musical cues without any vocals/acapella. For those who disagree; here's something you could consider reading before submitting; Sound/Music can totally be adjusted through options, it won't entirely take control upon your own will. This audio feature's purpose is to give the survivor a feeling of whatever your player feels surrounding them to make you feel the same way to give more of an understanding of what can truly compel your character to make the Standalone as authentic as a zombie-apocalypse situation as possible. Hello, Thanks for looking at my post, I am currently running a Dayz Rmod server with a few friends ( currently about 6 of us). I am looking to recruit groups of 4 and implement a Factions/Territories theme to my server. I can provide a base as well as multi-role vehicles for the new teams. What we need are the players who are dedicated enough to play on the server , who do not hack , i repeat who do not hack , and who are mature and trustworthy. We are preferably looking for an 18+ group as we are all above 21. Details : 1. Recruiting groups of minimum 3 or more players. 2. Must be minimum 17 years old 3. Must be able to communicate via skype or team speak 4. Must be running Dayz Rmod 1.7.4.4 5. If you are accepted you will be debriefed on the gameplay of the server 6. If you are accepted we will provide you a base with basic necessities ( i.e ; Fuel, Fire, Shelter, Ammunition) 7. If accepted you will have the choice of 5-10 vehicles dependent on your groups size. 8. No Mic Take a Hike! Thank you very much for reviewing this post. -
Improving movements; Additional Gestures(Standalone+Pics Included)

Hi, TIC here and I want to present some ideas.. Here's what I want to suggest since animations will be improved for the Standalone, why not have new movements? Benefits; *With new movements, it'd improve combat, maneuvering, stealth and perhaps some others that we could think of; adding to 'expansion'. *Gestures could expand socialization; especially players without a microphone or do not speak the same language as you; hand gestures is an international method to communicate, who doesn't know what flipping someone off means? ;P Current animations as of 1.7.5.1; Front Dive, Vaulting, Salute, Leaning. (This topic will be editted for further ideas, errors and to avoid TL;DR Format + 'Ease on Eyes' Reading for simplicity) __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Holding onto ledges*applies to buildings, cliffs, etc. Could greatly help when there are no ladders around on rooftops or trying to hide from a player that's around your area.Zombies/players could see you easier. Zombies could surround you from the bottom, waiting for you to drop for your demise.Players are able to step on fingers, loosening their grip.Assist Barrier climbing;*applies to walls, fences, small barriers. Have you ever come upon a wall that's beyond your height? How about having a buddy giving you a lift up the wall(or fence) and help your partner carry him/herself over it! All Fours(Cat Walk) Are you under heavy fire or trying to sneak around zombies? Well, this is for you! Makes you a wider target.Could make a louder noise depending on the flooring and environment.Makes you stay in cover, faster to move instead of proning; I'm not saying to replace it, just add it!Depending on footwear, you could be more stable on the ground without having an error.Advanced 'Carry Body' Mechanic I know this is currently in ArMA 2 but it's bugged; I think this could be improved. Middle of a firefight and dragging isn't the best option? How about being able to carry a body that's seen in ARMA 2? This would be beneficial as a faster means of carrying an immobilized partner from a broken bone or simply from unconciousness/shock. If your partner gets shot or attacked from a zombie while carrying, the body will automatically fall to the ground and could possibly die or go into further injury. Carrying a player would be able to fall if you are hit by a zombie or hit by players.Different ways to carry such as a Fireman's Carry and a basic 'Arms carry' .. Unconcious players could be carried as well to get out of an area. Dragging is currently implemented.Maybe with different injuries, more than one person can carry a person. Like a two man's chair carry to prevent that person in pain.180 Rotation Featured in many games; could help turn around from zombies chasing you to engage or players trying to eliminate you.Could make your gun sway temporarily for a brief moment(not too long; like 1-3 seconds to gain focus)Lying on back. This is currently in ArMA 3 but it could easily be placed into ArMA 2.5 Could help to defend yourself if your legs are broken or immobile. Could fire while lying on your back.Zombies could see you as a defenseless target and charge more aggressively for the kill.Hug; Could be good to gain warmth for cold environments without the right clothing or equipment; could be great for fresh spawns having trouble for their first time playing or any other case :) Maybe it could make your relationships with your fellow survivors better with hugging for the Standalone aiming to be an MMO. This could be used as well for a desperate attempt of your last action before a bandit happens to eliminate a pair of survivors! __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Gestures Gestures could easily expand the social aspects of DayZ. Salute is only the primary gesture to prove that we are 'friendly' .. Here are other gestures I can suggest. Salute(return it); This could be great to have along with wave to act your role as a military serviceman with the uniforms and such ;)Wanker/Middle Finger; More of a taunt; no other way to really explain it.Beckon; Tells other people to come to them or letting them know the area is clear.Pointing; Point towards a direction you are currently looking at.Thumbs-up/down; Shows approval or disapproval. Never flip ATV when it is stuck, Script Restriction "40"

So here's yet ANOTHER depressing story that happened to me. I started playing on this new server that actually has vehicles in it (strange, right?). I'm running around gathering parts for an ATV that I found, and I get it all nice and fixed up. I'm thinking 'GREAT!'. I get two jerry cans to fill it up, and use the first one. As I get the message that it filled, I get kicked for "Script Restriction 40". FML. When I hop back on, my jerry can is empty, and so is the ATV. So I have to use the other one, wasting a jerry can every time I fill it up. This blows. So, I start stashing some good gear in my ATV and I have a camping tent in there, and I'm 'bout to head off and set up base very far away from anybody. So I start heading up north of Gvozdno, thinking that it would be a great place to set my tent. I see the bridge across the lake and decide to head on over and set up on the other side. My ATV flips halfway through the bridge for no reason. Now it's stuck sideways. So I get out and decide to unflip it. Well guess what... It did unflip, but it managed to fly 10,000 ft up into the air, crash down on the ground, and explode, losing everything that I have. I mean, this is the kind of stuff you see on Youtube videos when they make a spoof of a game's glitches, not in actual gameplay!!! So now I need to fetch every part AGAIN and look for those nice weapons AGAIN (x2). Regards Assassin8813 -

DemonGroover I see your point, but there is also the counter-point. When something like DayZ is released into the wilds it will inevitably change as per the users of that server. How people advertise that server is a different matter and TBH the only servers that should have the official tag are those hosted by Bohemia or an officially sanctioned Server provider. As for the rest they probably should have some thought put into the title, but at the end of the day they are trying to get people to join them, rather than care about titles, so they tend to stretch the truth a bit. Recently I've been playing on Taviana. Mainly because that's where my friends are currently playing and also because it's a change from Chenarus. Not that Chenarus is bad, more that it's a very depressing locale. Taviana is a bit less depressing with bright yellow fields and white mountains to break up the drab grey/brown monotony that is most of Chenarus. However the other day on the private server we play on, loads of vehicles were added. This really did make things pretty tedious, because all everyone was doing was trying to fly light aircraft, AC130's or Osprey's. It lost that challenge feel. In some ways fuel needed to be limited more, so flying that Osprey would chew through fuel like a real Osprey would, yet without any fuel being refined to Aircraft grade, you wouldn't be able to fly it for long until you went and got some more refined fuel. Problem is who's manning the refinery's or the oil rigs... So back to the point, in a survival game, having everything on a plate removes the survival aspect. Which can diminish the feel of the game. Not in a bad way necessarily but in a different way. It changes focus and loses direction. Though a realistic scenario for an inner city would end with everyone trying to escape to the wilderness, the situation for Chenarus would be a little different. Nothing more than a small city is there, so mostly everything would be damaged through infection of the people. Which leads to questions as to how to develop a meaningful survival aspect beyond "get gun, get beanz..."
