Shooting out of the passenger seats of vehicles

First of all, you dont have the mobility in a car seat you would have in the chopper. Theres just not room enough. Second, a car driving in Chernarus is not stabile lol, especially if your offroad. Third, you cant hit shit with 50 km/h and an automatic rifle leaning out the window, you have a very unstabile shooting stance so recoil would be inceased and because of the weight of the gun it would sway when ever the vehicle moves. Also remember what you are talking about is highly trained soldiers and military vehicles. A small civilian vehicle is not designed to do anything like this, and its much more unstabile then military vehicles. And you are just a survivor in Chernarus, chances are you arent a soldier, and even if you are you need alot of training to be able to do this without issues. -
I look for an original gameplay. I dont want 30 helicopters and 500 cars in the server. They should be scarce. Especially the heli's. I love walking thru the woods approaching a town, laying down to see if there is any activity apart from zombies for around 5 minutes. So that when I decide to move in im pretty sure I dont get shot on sight. Then look for and hopefully gather the supplies I need, avoiding the zed's. Same goes for vehicles, If I find a busted car or heli I love to go out, find a toolbox and the appropriate parts to fix it, hoping that someone didn't beat me to it. I want this game to be about survival and not about the PvP. Though that is fun too, but then I just prefer ArmA II wasteland mod which is way cooler to PvP in because of the missions, weapons and vehicles.

I've recently realized another team mate would drastically help me. I have a group of 2 atm, me and my friend. There are just a few requirements you need too have. Requirements You MUST be experienced. Have Skype Be able too murder someone without question Needs too be flexible and sort of tolerant as me and my friends joke a lot. Need too not lag Needs too be able too fly a heli/drive vehicles. Skilled in gunfights. Prepared too server switch/ change maps. We play on origins a lot so you need too be ready too play it. Live in the U.S. (Because of time zones) Speak English. Info I am 17 my friend is 16 we both live in the U.S. , I live in MO and my friend lives in Cali. We are experienced, been playing since last summer. We don't kill players with no real reason. My Skype is xzenonmc and my friends Skype is hmmayta. That's all I can think of for now, hope someone out there matches my description and is ready too play!!!

This is fantastic! The only issue I see is that clouds are a big way of determining direction in game if you don't have a compass or map. If the wind changes direction and that impacts the direction of the clouds, will there be some other clear way of determining direction? Also, will wind impact vehicles... particularly air vehicles? I love the idea of changing the sound of guns indoors and the transition is seamless - awesome! Is the size of the report outside diminished by the walls absorbing the sound inside? It sounded to me like it wasn't, but I can't say that with certainty.

Hosting A New Takistan (v2.0.1) By vRNemesis

The recent 1.7 update to Takistan broke the map so I made my own version of Takistan. I have fixed the problems, and completely updated it to 1.7.6 code as well as made several changes listed below with many more to come. I have named the mod simply @Takistan so it will not replace the current @DayZTakistan. I have also made a thread on the DayZ Commander forums in an attempt to get it added on there. If you like this I would greatly appreciate your support over there as well. Hvk Gaming Dayz Server Reopened!

Hello Everyone, I have a Dayz Server that has finally reopened, It's new and improved too! Me and some friends used to run a server that was average but now with the help of the clan Havok Gaming we have opened a server with a custom loading screen, friendly admins, and mission files such as Auto Refuel, Debug Monitor, Custom buildings and Dogs (Still being worked on) Some Features include: 24-7 day, 200+ vehicles (vehicles on the coast as well as in towns north) Custom load out as well. The admins here are super friendly and will help out anybody who needs it! The Server ip is this: 108.168.172.162 Port:3272 I look forward to seeing some more active members on the server! -
There is a public hive where all you start with is bandage, flashlight, painkillers, and Patrol Pack, regardless of server. This hive is only on Chenarus, with not additional mods to it like DayZ+ or 2017. The rest are private hives where the admin can change starting gear, map, vehicle limit, etc. Some don't, but most do to some degree. Just use dayz commander and hide all unofficial servers if you want the vanilla dayz experience. Not to say all private servers are all "custom loadout, new buildings, base building, 5 billion vehicles, choppers for everyone" but the public hive servers can't change that. As for downloads, just need Arma II, Operation Arrowhead, DayZ mod, and update your Arma II beta patch. You can download other maps, but all servers that run non-chenarus maps are private and typically have some quirk to them.

Mission statement: The Shack is committed to providing... -A different kind of DayZ experience than vanilla, -An environment where small groups of 2-6 can thrive along with lone wolves and large groups, -A server which features an accelerated starting loadout with weapons and survival gear, -A server who not only listens to its players, but actively seeks their opinions for making the server better, -Side chat free of voice comms, -Teamspeak server to contact administration as well as provide communication for small groups, -A fair experience where admin do not unfairly help one group over another, -Active monitoring for hackers, and our best efforts at restoring gear after a hacking event. The setting we seek to provide in game terms is somewhat removed from the vanilla DayZ experience. Where vanilla DayZ provides an experience representing survival months after a zombie event, The Shack seeks an experience days or weeks after a zombie event. The Taviana map provides a perfect setting for this venture. Vehicles are more varied and more common, streets are clear and connect to an excellent highway system, large cities make an excellent backdrop for fights against survivors and bandits. The drive to create this server was sourced from a difficulty finding a server with faster-paced gameplay and fair administration. I distinctly recall a map where I was informed that the helicopter spawn sites had been removed... right after I watched two UH-1Hs fly overhead. I questioned this, and was told that the helicopters were for admin only. Now every private server is allowed to run their own server how they see fit, but I want to make this very clear: We are committed to a fair environment. If you see another player using a weapon or tool, you have the opportunity to find the same. No favorites, all players are the same. The requisite info: We are running the .com version of Taviana, not the .eu version. I look for a server with a mid populatuion size, no starter weapons and not too many vehicles. Any server with loads of vehicles, starter guns and 40 people is going to be battlefield 3, which while not a strictly bad thing is not why i play DayZ

It would make car chases awesome. Aside from it being wildly inaccurate and unreliable (unless you're in the back of a ural), you'd probably have to shatter your windscreen in many situations. I'd make it so that you can only shoot sidearms from the passenger seats of vehicles with closed cabins, and primary weapons when seated in the back of a pickup truck or a ural. -

Good point. I forgot about vehicles since i hardly ever use them. I wondering if having more interesting loot in the world and not having to travel to far to find it would be a good idea. Like gathering enough construction supplies to build an extra wall around your base or creating your own vehicles with weapon turrets attached to it. -

That would go against the core design goals of the game, and make vehicles nearly pointless. In DayZ, it's the journey and not the destination, which is why on vanilla servers you start with nothing and work your way up the ladder, not start with M4's and DMR's. -

Well as far as game mechanics, there are vehicles, you just have to work for them. I don't know what else you would have in mind. Beyond chatting with my mates on the trips, I just enjoy the scenery and pass the time constantly looking around for other players and tents. Just assume there's always someone tailing you. -

We also have a ton of ai on server and have a counter that tell how many are currently alive and how many are in a 500m radius of you with it telling you how many players are ingame. we have a ton of vehicles spawn so its not hard to find them. My favorite feature is the automatic gun shop witch you can buy slash sell weapons with the money you earn and the money you earn is always saved to you when you die or abort or even quit. there is a limit on how much you can ever have witch for non-donaters is 10,000 and donators 35,000 at anytime. Also we have killing zombies reward and every ten you kill you get money for the shop and its a fair amount too. Please come and join us on taviana and ill see to it that you enjoy your stay and the server will to. -

Respectfully disagree. The game doesn't hold your hand and create endgame if thats what you mean, But its a sandbox game, so the point is its up to you how you play endgame. Repair a vehicle and become a taxi with runs between electro and cherno (on my list of want to do) Go bandit hunting......go Hero hunting Go be an explorer, find something near the fringes of the map you've never seen before. Build a base of operations, stockpile tents and supplies, defend it from thiefs Be a thief and go looking for peeps tents to loot Try and get a huge train of Zeds, then stop in an alley and try to survive the attack. Kill Zeds. Fix up vehicles or helos and give them away to Bambis on the coast. Fill up Backpacks with toilet paper and leave them in a firestation. Giggle at the remarks over sidechat. If you normally group with peeps...Lonewolf it, and vice a versa Be protector of the new spawns on the coast Whatever you do please leave the new spawns alone, Go after someone thats a challenge to you. Killing Bambis is not very sporting :P My point is get creative -

Im just sick of the servers which are now.... There is nothing interesting in freakin 500 vehicles, more loots and your bullshit maps. ANY old school server where nothing has been really changed? like 20-30 players, private hive (maybe whitelist), and so on. please, im tired of the shit nowadays.

Hey guys, I wanted to recommend this feature for the Standalone and how we shouldn't be totally dependent on medical use without any side effects. Confirmed So Far: Splints, known for use in new crafting system Different health variants(Diet, Blood, Consciousness) Different bones being broken, ability to add splints and bandages. Limping, maybe the possibility of speed of movement rendered. Floating idea of pooping/vomiting from Rocket's early presentation. Various diseases; Cholera, Typhoid fever, Dysentery, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Leptospirosis, Tuberculosis, Viral Meningitis, Bacterial Meningitis, Common cold, Influenza. Medical Items Each character would have a random tolerance limit towards these medications. Some people can handle a higher amount than others. Side effects can have various steps, not always starting off as 'loss of vision or constipation' Painkillers: Used to treat moderate to severe pain. Known Side-Effects: (* mark implies that it's possible for Standalone, others are likely/unlikely to appear) Dependency/Addiction if used often.(Floating idea)Overdose can cause fatal symptoms which could lead to death.Constipation may occur as a side effect which would be a bad combination with junk food eaten.(Depends on dosage)They can include sedation, euphoria, dizziness*, fatigue*, depression, tremors*, anxiety, flu-like symptoms or even the flu*, upset stomach*, dry mouth, itching*, hallucination*, sweating*, muscle and bone pain*, confusion, extreme irritability and muscle spasms*With diseases having an ability to linger onto objects, same should apply to medication. Morphine: Used for mostly severe pain. Should not fix broken bones. About the same as painkillers ONLY for the first 3 dots. Blood-Bag/Tranfusions: As a process of receiving blood or even products into one's circulation intravenously(Blood flow). Transfusions are used in a variety of medical conditions to replace lost components of the blood such as gunshot wounds, stab/slashed, car injuries, etc. Possibility of different blood types for the right person. Improved medical(IDEAS). Would be good from a bloody fist fight, bullet wounds, falling, etc.Resting should be beneficial for most conditions. Standalone Weather; more predictable/effective on player's condition

Hey guys, TIC here bringing you guys another idea which came upon my mind. What if weather had more of an effect instead of getting sick/cold? For a heads-up; I have used the search function and while there are some topics retaining this suggestion, mine goes down to detail of how it could put an effect around for players and possibly zombies alike. Warm/hot weather clear skies with low winds, clouds will not be able to provide shade from cloud layers.Gives you a faster chance of getting dehydrated while doing strenuous/mild activities such as sprinting, running and so-forth.Wearing lighter clothing can help reduce the chances of getting 'too hot' .. Even if that means running around in your briefs. Fainting increased. Severe: Possible respiratory problems, shaking or muscle spasms will occur, increase fainting then death. Snow Thicker cloud layer blocking the sun, reduces temperature significantly with snow. Zombies will move at a slower rate due to being warm blooded(they're not dead, just infected with a virus) an udnead body is able to produce glycoprotein or something related to it. It would have a workable system that no longer needs internal temperature to function. Zombies would be more likely to move slower in extreme cold, their blood would never convert into a solid, continuing to flow and power through the body.Players would have to find more clothing, T-Shirt and shorts wouldn't be suitable ;)Have to find an empty space on the ground to make a fire instead on top of snow.Depending on the parts; the vehicle would endure the snowy environment which would mean slippery road conditions.Some lakes could become frozen, making it a bit harder to find water. Water not being frozen? Rain(Light-Heavy) Liquid water in a form of droplets being condensed from water vapor and then being precipated. Depending on the volume of the rain, it could affect your immune system. Increases chance of getting an infection/sickness.Making roads more slippery to drive on.Decreases sound of footsteps the player makes from the rain masking the sound. Wind could contribute to this factor.Animals will decrease at a small amount, their pattern will change.Zombies won't be affected by rain.Symptoms on the Player: Mild: Shivering, making aiming a bit difficult; similar to being in pain but shivering could draw attention. Could be solved by holding breath. Moderate: Could hear your character sneezing or coughing, shivering increases. Possible fever can endure. Severe: Infection starts to increase it's strength without care, your blood will drop to 0 at a certain rate. Fog Fog would decrease visibility heavily. Enables players to sneak around easier visually but could hinder your sense of direction.Using fog lamps which could be found on cars would make it easier to drive through, if available.Zombies would have increased hearing but decreased sight, making it slightly easier to lose them in this condition.Symptoms on the Player: None at this moment.
