Event: Roadtrip with a deadly curve Date: Friday 10-05-2013 Time: 19:00 GMT +1 Place: Kamenka to Berezino Goal: Get a grip of the convoy full of goodies Description: There will be a secret mission going on this friday. A convoy moving from Kamenka to Berezino will be delivering supplies. This convoy will be loaded with weaponry/ supplies that are essential to surviving on the hostile environment of Chernarus. All participants will have to bring their own car or make an ambush in which they can chase or ambush the ADMIN-crew. Your goal(solo or in a group) will be to get these cars because they will have some great stuff sitting in it to be taken. You can stop these car(s) by any means possible(push em over shoot them down etc). Kill the ADMINS or whoever else tries to take over the convoy vehicles. Happy hunting. EXG Crew PS. Would be great if people give us in advance who is coming. -

Another personal observation here on how to keep things from getting stale. Take more risks. You've got yourself all geared, you have your vehicles, and you got that way by being smart and careful. Well stay smart but ditch the careful. And make it about the other players on your server. Make an effort to interact a LOT good or bad. Hunt down everyone you can, this is dangerous and unless your server is really bad will probably end in your own death. Or help everyone you can, every person who needs a ride or medical attention as long as they aren't a known bandit. Play smart still, so scope out the area don't walk into a certain death trap. If you have a suspicion it MIGHT be a trap though, try and beat it. Don't just avoid a dangerous situation, seek it out and try to beat it. Hunt the good guys and save the bad guys, just be risky! No more fat sack of loot when the bambi had sniper cover. Or bigger sack of loot when you killed the sniper and the bambi :)

Along with many DayZ servers we started hosting an Origins one as well.We got a stable community,clan wars,and a friendly playerbase,lots of strangers team up and actually be friendly to each other without betrayals!We need clans and players,we need more clans so we can expand the clanwars,and have constant fights everywhere,we need survivors to build bases and stuff,and we need lone wolves that pop out of nowhere to help or kill.We got many vehicles and choppers,and the server is stable,restarts everyday etc.So far we have no hackes on,but when we get our first,we'll whitelist the server. We also need a new mayor of Salvation!After my clan's recent raid in the city noone was left alive,and i elected my self mayor of Salvation!The next person that kills me,gets to be the mayor,and we will gift him his own private chopper! I think the point of .50 cals in DayZ is to blow up people's vehicles they worked hard to repair Like how you think make it look like the as50 is the only military weapon. I would like to see more marksman riffle such as an AWM, or maybe to to give an options to snipers, a DSR with subsonic and piercing rounds you can swap around with in order to adapt to most situations. -

:beans: Hello everyone! I would just like to let people know about our great server! Its brand new. Its got everything from "big" guns to "big" vehicles! (That means almost all vehicles of course lol) We got good antihacks and a couple great admins that are willing to help you for almost any problem you have. But you may need rmod installed to see a couple weapons!! DayZ Standalone, Freelook, Third Person

Like I said before, 3dp was included as a "substitute-sense" to give players awareness of their own body and their positioning in relation to the environment. Removing the free-look ability would be defeating the purpose for which it was included in the first place. That being said, I would be happy enough if 3dp showed only your own character and the surroundings, without showing other players, zeds, animals, loot, vehicles etc. That's just my take on the subject. I KNOW that other folk don't agree with me on this, which is precisely why I don't keep suggesting it over and over and over and over and over..... (Hint hint ;)) -
The thing is, once you explore the map build up a sweet little camp, get a few vehicles or a heli then what.... there is no end-game. This is literally what happened to me, I played on a server with my wife and once we had just about everything you could possibly get we just ran out of things to do. She was a strict non PVP'er and she got her first player kill before I did, and now all we do is hunt people. Aside from the people who play purely for the PVP aspect, everyone will run out of things to do eventually and then what else is there? Even playing as a "Hero" you will run up against players who want to shoot you on sight, there is no escaping it. So either embrace it for what it is, maybe find a different server or move along.

Private servers prove that the average players don't know shit about gameplay

This, if people want to play like this why can't they? Especially on their own servers. Some people don;t have time to spend 4 hours looking for some beans, they just want to have a fun evenings game in a cool game, if you make the standlaone game ultra hardcore a lot of people won't play it and the game will eventually die a death. Why can't you have on one side servers where starting loot is really low, zombies are tougher, military kit is harder to find, vehicles are very rare etc. to suit the hardcore survival players and then have the complete opposite for those that want it? The standard game should be somewhere in the middle. Why the f*ck should we all play the way a few people want it played? A lot of people here remind me of the old battlefield forums, Mordor as some people called it who were all resistant to change and basically it was their way or no way. I will never understand this attitude of people disliking different types of gamers when modding and PC severs gives you the opportunity to cater for most tastes, yet people still moan. -
Words like tosh spread to mind when I read this but I'll try an respond in a reasonable manner. One Zombie knocks out in two hits? Laughably absurd, are all the infected professional boxers all of a sudden? That's a joke suggestion and certainly shouldn't be the norm as it just not logical it goes back to super zombies again. These are infected people from all walks of life some will be women yet people here are saying that they should be super fast, super strong, have super visions it's just absurd. Zombies should ONLY be dangerous in large numbers, hence as Old Fossil points out those that are careless and cause lots of noise will suffer the consequences. As for teaming up shoudln't that be the players choice? Your forcing gameplay on people, forcing them to co-operate, going lonewolf should be a viable option as any way people choose to play. In fact in theory it should be a lot easier to avoid zombies on your own. It's fine to have server options where the zombies are 'super' if that's what some people want but it certainly should not be the default setting.Different flavours for different people. Like I said if you want to fight against super hard AI zombies play left 4 dead or something on the max level, Yes the game is labelled as a survival game, but it's a game, it's meant to be fun and I would reckon for a lot of people scavenging around in the woods hunting isn't that fun, what's really fun is this massive open world you have where you don;t know what's round the next corner, where you have no real story or plan deciding your fate, where the unpredictability of other players going through the same experience can make each day different. That's something the AI zombies will never be able to achieve and it's why they shouldn't be a major focus in this game. Zombies are Day Z's environment, the background, the setting. PvP is what gives Day Z it's soul. As for the rest of it, I play on Vanilla public servers with very few vehicles and standard starting kit. The only As-50s I've seen have been hacked in. I've been playing pretty much every day for a couple of months now and I think I've killed two people, both of whom attacked me first. I've also had several conversations with other players and teamed up with them. My PvP experience has been very varied. I agree to an extent, at the moment they are maybe more in the nuisance bracker than the threat bracket. However I'm not keen on changes to their abilities until their randomness is sorted out. If I know the line, then I'm happy for zombies to be more powerful, if I know I need to sneak aroudn them, not fire within this distance etc. etc. that's fine they can do some more damage aggro longer etc. At the moment though I follow the rules and the Zombies break them, they will aggro across fields for no reason, they will go through doors, through wall, they'll hit from 10ft away. They are currently far too random and unpredictable, basically too glitched IMO for them to be stronger. Once they aren't as glitched I'll happily have them a bit more dangerous but they should always be a background threat, something that will threaten the careless, the loud, the brash etc.

Hi, i am hosting a private hive and looking for players to join the server! Check it out! These are what i have on the server at the moment -NPC's -Custom buildings (a bigger cherno) -Custom weapons -More Helicrashes -100+ vehicles -A merchant (Every now and then one of the admins will be driving around in a ural filled with weapons. Here you can buy weapons using empty tin and soda cans, our way of trying to make these useless things more usefull) What i am thinking of implementing. Need feedback on it tho. -Snowstorms -Earthquake effect -Bomb raids -Base building -Custom clan bases The server has very active admins. Join now. Well ... I agree that the limitation of weapons and vehicles and military materiel is somewhat unrealistic. Simple answer there is that Rocket and other DayZ devs did this to balance gameplay. But I get what you're saying, I see where you are coming from. Why can we have a silenced assault carbine and a couple of silenced SMGs but not a silenced PDW? Or why an armed chopper, but not an armed boat? Makes you want to pull out your hair. From a somewhat real world point of view - well in my realm of thought it would depend at what point in the apocalypse you arrived in "Chernarus" or whatever other hypothetical modern nation. At the outset retailers of weapons such as Wal Mart and Dick's and Cabela's, etc. would get mobbed by ... well a mob of terrified civilians seeking a firearm or three. Heck, when they call for an inch of snow around here, everyone buys up all the bread, eggs and milk. Police would still be in control to some extent, so you're not going to raid their armory, and even if they were suddenly gone, you'd need some power tools to get at the boomsticks. National Guard or Army Reserve armories? Try breaking into one of their vaults. Mid way through the crisis, let's say the regular Army has been deployed, are you gonna ask a grunt at some barricade to borrow his weapon? Again with the police armories - every dude in a many mile radius is going to have the same idea, and any place that contains firearms is going to be death match central. Further on into the "aftermath" - some time after the police and our armies have fallen, all of those posh burst fire and automatic weapons will have sat out in the elements for weeks, months, a year. Good luck getting them to function. Of course scavengers will have picked most of that hardware clean by then. Gearing up after a real world collapse of civilization would be more difficult than it seems. Myself, think I would head to the Beretta manufacturing plant south of here, but everyone would likely think of that. Just for fun, imagine trying to teach yourself to fly a Bell Jet Ranger, or a Blackhawk or even one of those Agusta helicopters they use for Life Flights. I think I would keep my feet planted on the ground, zombies or not. -
