New to this game and just wondering what my computer needs for more fps

If you haven't tried updating your drivers yet that is the first place you should start. After that head over to this guide and try a few things. FPS on DayZ is all over the place. I would say experiment with different servers with different amounts of people to see the results. A server with 1000 vehicles rocking 60 players is going to drag compared to a vanilla DayZ server with 15-25 people. Sometimes sacrifices must be made! -

I just thought I'd put our server out there, It's currently back on Chernarus (after a brief trip to Namalsk) Hosted by Vilayer so as you can expect it has a lot of the scripts installed (Including a few tweaks I've added) 91.121.157.115:2332 NPC's - Extra groups - armed with new weapons (may change infrequently) - survivors attack at -2500 - can call for reinforcements - Helo's Base Building Auto Refuel Siphon Fuel Salvage Parts Strip clothes from bodies Lift and Tow Clear Roads! Custom starting loadout (For ease of base building) plenty of lower end vehicles (Vehicle spawns change frequently) Friendly admins Ill be adding more features as we go along, and any input is taken on board! hey guys. im wondering if there are any private hive servers with 200+ vehicles, 5+ choppers a loadout thats similar to the public hives(something like antibiotics, painkillers, 2 bandages, makarov). Also if it can have extra buildings. im not sure if this is right forum but if anyone has a server like this please tell me. thanks! btw it must have a lot of players during peak times and at the least 10-15. i dont care if there is like 5 people on sometimes i just want a server thats busy all the time. Thanks

Yeah that's a fair point about the chopper but then again, how do you know my character isn't ex-military? :rolleyes: Helicopters aside, I won't play the SA until it has a lots of vehicles on the map and some goals (e.g. base building) because to me, that is key to the experience and i wouldn't be interested in day z anyone if it wasn't for mods like origins... So yeah, IMO rocket should take his time to deliver a worthwhile game. BeatSTV, what's the name of the mod with farming? -

Yeah the developers should take their time with the SA if they need to. To be honest, i doubt they the SA will live up to my expectations anyway. Hacking and connection issues aside, the thing that pissed me off the most was the lack of vehicles and some sort of base building mechanic and since the SA won't have either of those features, i doubt i'll even bother with the SA until it's finished. If recently deserved Day Z: Origins which does pretty much all i want, so i'll just play that :) Good luck o/ -
Actually I was very surprised to see this, but I saw at a gun show (in the U.S.) what was at least labeled as thermite. I didn't really think it would be legal, but apparently it is. That could be used against vehicles and a molotov (which are very easy to make by the way) could be anti-personnel.

Disagree could be a Game breaker . As most people only Live for an Hour or so in DAYZ ( yes I know Ive had Characters for weeks also ) it may be adding something that's not ever even encountered by the majority. Clue me up please Rockett , In the SA when do you propose the Zombie Outbreak happened ? Are we spawned into something that is just happening ? Happening right now makes sense would explain Food and Drink laying around in Buildings etc, a general state of Chaos . But if all ( Most ) Vehicles in the SA are all Burnt out, Trees and Weeds are overgrowing Buildings and many other tell tale signs , rusted Ship Wrecks etc this leads me to believe we Enter the SA months after the Initial Zombie Outbreak. So to me atm it looks like we have a mixture of the Two . Any plans to create this back Story ?

aliens and terinator these things really exaggerating,we set sgt.suit and nano suit,just make players feel they can have makeself become a super soldier,if you want get the suit,those things really a little chance to get them only 5%. and the special vehicles,only in pve maps,players want get the cars must killed all npcs,and the vehicles will restore back in pve map,when server restore. set these vehicles,because server every weekends make some contests for players in HK,such as 'kart racing,f1car champintion,dead racing' and more,make players have more exciting. -
Hopefully we can take parts from cars so removing the battery etc would work wonders. I also find satchel charges are great for sabotaging vehicles.

Allowing server Admins to spawn banned items (server side/private)

I agree with Zane, at the moment there are hundreds if not thousands of dayz servers, go through dayz commander and you will find around 40% of the servers empty or with hardly any players. I wanted this feature added back in December. http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/109686-vehicles/ Not exactly the same as what the op requested, but it allong the same lines. I stopped playing dayz around 4 months ago because of hackers and because it was getting repetitive, there was nothing new in the game. If anything things are getting removed from dayz, i preferred the dayz back around a year ago. You didnt have to worry about getting infected from blood bags, didn't have to boil water ect. If WE private hive owners had the ability to control what we want on our servers, we would bring back some of the old style players. It people like Lady that get features and items removed, such as the l85 thermal, and the as50. They are OP weapons but, they were rare. Rocket even mentioned in one of the dev blogs that in the SA there might have thermal weapons or one shot kill weapons but they will be super rare like 1 in the whole world type of rare. If server owners had the ability to control their server, define the banned/blocked weapons and the loot tables, it would open up a whole new world of opportunities for players and servers. I say that we should have control over the banned weapons,vehicles and such. So that we can bring the retro dayz back. -

Any of these tricks will be included by default, because public hive maintenance scripts should detect and respawn OOB vehicles. I don't know ResetOOBVehicles keyword at all. It's unrelated. -

We're looking for 2 bandits/hero to join our clan. We are very picky so before applying, be sure you meet our criteria below (We also have our own server): - Age 18+ - We don't care if you're a bandit or a hero, but you must not be offended by anything we do when it comes to being a bandit. We are a bandit clan first and foremost. You're going to have a lot of enemies, we are professional bandits. - You must be severely active. We are looking for people who can log on almost daily. We realize people have lives so we are flexible. - You must be self sustainable. When we have a surplus of gear, we have no issues sharing it, but we require you to be self sustainable and not rely on other clan members for gear. - Do what's best for the group. When we build a stronghold, we will need all hands on deck and will need help from you to build it. - We need someone who is not going to be easily offended. We trash talk to each other goofing off and don't take things that seriously. We expect the same from you. - Vehicles aren't for the taking. We generally share our vehicles but if you don't fix it, don't take it. We work hard on getting the materials together and finding these vehicles. - Be respectful to your fellow clan members outside of goofing off as stated above. I think there should be something that allows you to push the guy you kidnapped and if you left him for 30 seconds, he could loosen up and run. Same thing with vehicles (You could "load" him into a passenger seat while pushing or holding him), leave him alone without a driver for 30 seconds and he can exit and start running. Because there's no need to tie someone up and leave them into the woods. If you want to leave him into the woods, you're coming with him. Also, another guy should be also be able to free him. No need to waste 30 secs.

The stand-alone will stand alone. PvP players will flood in, just as they did in DayZ. Those wanting to mainly play house, and play Ken and Barbie dress-up, will soon abandon it. Just as those thinking DayZ should be about teaming up with strangers to fight off zeds abandoned DayZ, or formed clans. How the stand-alone handles murder with its "humanity system" is the only method of controlling KOS. Out of curiosity, I did some server scans yesterday with DayZ Commander. Origins servers outnumber vanilla 1.7..7.1 DayZ by about 4:1. Player count in favor of Origins looks to be even more lopsided, with many more loaded Origins servers. I haven't played Origins, but from YT vids it appears to have more vehicles, and maybe house-building. Whatever it is that attracts players, it appears to be working. My guess is many players left vanilla DayZ due to the infection implemented in 1.7.7.1. I know I did. But I have no idea of player numbers pre-1.7.7.1 versus post 1.7.7.1. So that's just a guess. Also a good guess that many went to Origins and the other mods because they just wanted something other than "same old Chernarus." That's normal human behavior. The stand-alone will have a great advantage due to "interest" in something coming from Rocket, who created the landmark game, DayZ. Whether that interest stays strong is yet to be seen. Pretty sure I'll try it out, but I'll wait a while, as I do with most games. -

Abandon a car hidden somewhere and keep the fuel on you, or screw some poor sap over who didn't hide his UAZ well enough. Crafting: Sick of finding mountains of trash loot? Well here is your chance, now you can assemble together needed vehicle parts by smelting down pieces of scrap! You might need to fill up that Coyote Backpack with scraps instead of guns, choose wisely! Vehicle Towing: Vehicles can tow other small vehicles, helicopters can now tow small vehicles too. Hey everyone, I just wanted to throw it out there that I have started a new private hive server. I use the default settings so no BS scripts, 25 vehicles, starter pack, 1 food, 1 drink, and a flashlight. If you want a default server or alternative, just type in Slinky and there you go.
